A new Chapter... | BRAND NEW MT-125 First Ride
Hi just come across your profile, i see your speedo screen is smaller than some are the larger screens classed as a upgrade or a mod to buy ? thanks
Well that was interesting, I first watched your video when you get the bike and couldnt use the gears properly, I wondered if you'd improved and wasn't still screaming along without changing up, then saw this video where you are a seasoned pro, looking forward to the 10,00 mile video.. great progress, you should do a safety course, you're a Natural..
Thanks allot man, hopefully I’ll be able to clock 10,000 miles on this bike 🤞 haven’t been out in awhile due to weather unfortunately
Nice bike. But 5k new. You can buy a Voge r125 for half the price. 2.5k new.
Completely agree, I’m fortunate enough to be in a position to afford a Yamaha and I’m very grateful for my job 🙏
❤❤❤❤❤❤ love that fecher
I had the MT-125, it's definitely faster than 60-70% of cars on the road below 40 mph because of the short gearing, after that your gran's jazz will get to 70 faster, but it does very easily hit 70 mph.
That's true but how many "drivers" are comfortable taking a corner at 70 ? Not many.
Can you ride this with only a cbt, cuz its 15bhp but rules say 14.6bhp. Im wondering if you have to restrict it and if you even can restrict it
you can, I had one on an L-plate, I think it is technically 14.6 bhp.
@@raysonviswasis that whp?
You ditched your mirrors?
Ive got an MT125 and I bought a Voge R125 6 months ago, I’ve rode my MT I think 3 times since I bought the Voge. It’s cheap, it’s Chinese but dare I say it, it’s better. It’s better in every way, I’ve had zero problems with the bike as have taken care of it properly. Rode it virtually daily in all weather conditions(not snowing) I get roughly 220 miles on a full tank and I’ve gotten it to 76mph and I’m currently a chubster so lord knows what it could do. I hate to say it as I loved the MT and still do but after having the Voge for some time now it makes me question how the MT can be priced at what it is.
I love your videos mate, but please stop talking both your hands off the handlebars...it unnerves me! Plus where have your rear view mirrors gone?
@@andyg934 haha sorry man, just something I do to explain I do it subconsciously 😂 mirrors broke in my crash unfortunately :(
@Unstoople Just be careful though mate, and get a set of mirrors back on then I'll feel much happier! LOL I've got exactly to same bike which I bought new in July this year, great bikes that look great too.
I'm 2000 miles into my 2024 MT-125, and I wouldn't swap it for any other bike, had a go on 2 different 125 sport bikes, they just don't compare, the mobility and comfort of MT is heavenly. I have the confidence to filter up to the front of a roundabout or red light because I can trust my bike's torque to shoot me off instantly. Any other 125? They have to build the momentum without VVA.
@@lawterian yea VVA is truly amazing, get best of both worlds!
I got the x3 because of your videos and next year im gettinga a 125cc which should i get? is the mt125 worth it or should i buy a supermoto?
The insurance for a supermoto style 125cc bike is around double that of the MT-125. They hate insuring supermotos because they are scrote magnets.
@@ezstuntzz supermotos tend to be expensive too build or buy etc, if you have the money supermotos look sick but I find the MT more convient so entirely up to you :)
Great video. Looking at doing my CBT and have been looking at getting this bike. Out of interest, what helmet camera are you using? It's at a really nice angle.
@@DanStimo thanks man, I’m using a GoPro hero 12 😊
@Unstoople Does that come with the mount you used or is that sold separately?
@@DanStimo no, I use a sticky mount but it isn’t available on Amazon, however I used to use a GoPro one and it was perfectly fine, they’re are extremely adhesive, at least mine was as I was unable to remove it lmao
i keep watching theses videos i used to have a 2020 mt 125 and it was stolen from me
@@lkpassassin sorry to hear that man, hope you were able to recover it or get back on another bike, worlds a cruel place sometimes but unfortunately that’s how it goes, I hope you have everything sorted 🙏

@@samvader5202 thanks bro, good to see you again thanks for stopping by 🙏
have you considered yamaha r7? im not to sure if its road legal but it definitely looks like you want a sports bike🤣
@@Be1ow yea I’ve looked at the r7s as I do want my next bike to be a sports bike (fun bike) and I’m in love with 4 cylinder sounding engine hence I’m looking at the cbr650r cus it’s a2 complete and a 4 cylinder!
@@Unstoople yeah but with akrapovic exhaust the mt07 and r7 sounds amazing in my opinion and for an a2 bike i would suggest spending alittle more on the exhaust
where do you keep your chain lock?
Do you still plan on getting the MT 07? Great Vid
Thanks man :) Im currently looking at a Honda CBR650R as its a 4 cylinder on an a2 license, and I love the sound of a 4 cylinder engine, so currently a cbr650r but my mind changes all the time 🤣
Hey, I got a mt125 2024 about a month ago and im enjoying it! Love watching your videos. Its kinda cold in czechia and i dont really have winter clothes so i cant ride that much but i have around 500km and trying to be comfortable with the bike. Do you have any tips and pointers how to lean further. And also i feel like my bike maxes out when im in 6th gear and it just wont go past 6k rpm and i can do like 100kmh maximum downhill but cant go more than that.
@@adomen hi mate! If your bike is brand new it will have a break in period so be gentle for a set amount of miles! 6th gear on these 125s are an efficiency gear at high speeds! You will get higher top speeds maxed out at 5th gear then you will on 6th, 6th gear is just there for fuel efficiency 😂 Honestly my biggest tip is look where you want to go and that’s where you will go, I generally can’t stress how important that is. I recommend trying at a speed your comfortable with going around roundabouts and looking at an exit you want to take, you’ll most likely notice how much smoother you’ll take the exit as your body and everything does it for you just by looking where you’re going. I recommend only starting to learn how to lean when you are fully confident e.g not looking at the screen to be able to tell what gear you are in, being able to understand what gear to choose from the engine sound and an idea of what speed you’re at just by riding. So overall, you must (in my opinion) be fully confident with the bike first before attempting to lean! Any other questions feel free too ask and thanks for stopping by man 🙏🙏
@@Unstoople Thanks for the tips man! And thanks for your content!
@@adomen Hope you can get low on the roundabouts soon man! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you next video!!
One of the best because I haven't tried others, well your opinions are pointless after this comment.
@@Rogueonepigeon yep, better than lying to my viewers tho 🤷♂️ I’ve tried cbr125, lexmotos r125 etc since and still confirm I like the feel of the mt-125 more I’ll have to do an updated video at a later date. But regardless thought I’d tell the truth rather make some stores up, thanks for stoping by man 🙏
Hi mate could you do a full video of this please, you're the only one ive found on TH-cam with a decent tidy tail n I wanna do the exact same to mine
Yeh cheers mate for hitting me🥰 jk it didn’t do damage glad ur back riding butterfly boy☺️
just bought my first MT 125.. Buzzing with it.. glad you ok..
Hope you enjoy the bike man, mt 125s are such a blast!!!!
One of the best guys I've ever heard. How's riding in Europe? I'm new to riding in the states, riding an old Yamaha virago 250cc
@@gabrielgamesog5896 riding in the uk can be a bit annoying considering all of the limitations of how power a bike can be at a younger age (18 and I’m limited to a 125cc) but it does make sense..
@Unstooplethose years will fly by mate, enjoy them
awesome ride! bikes are def funner than cars!
@@staytucked bikes are very fun and cars for comfort!
Glad you weren't too dinged up mate. I'm with you on the car talk too. When I started riding, I did seven years bike only, mostly due to money more than anything, and I always thought I'd hate cars, just sitting in a cage pressing buttons. And I wasn't wrong, even with the fun cars I've owned like my old MX5 you are still pressing buttons, but as you say the luxury of just grabbing my keys and leaving is something I enjoy every single time I drive anywhere. Same with getting somewhere and not having to spend ages with security chains and locks, and then not lugging around a helmet, jacket, boots. Same also with just throwing the shopping in the car and leaving, and not having to worry about whether I have enough rucksack space, or how heavy it'll all be. The ideal garage for me will always be at least one of each, car and bike. Neither can outright replace the other, but together they tick all the boxes.
@@TheSpectre223 exactly mate, they all have their pros and cons, looking at either a newer car I’d enjoy or a stronger bike but not sure which one I’m going for, absolutely piss middle or luxury 😂 but for now, I love what I’ve got and don’t think I could get any better, just saving now for something as I love engines 🙏
@@Unstoople For me, I'd go for a simple-but-functional car, and an exciting bike. The car doesn't need to be special because it's more of a practical item.
Glad to hear you’re ok after seeing the title.

Well done man! I was thinking to get an Apple tag for mine, but someone said if the thief has an iPhone they get a notification after a while?? I’m getting one after this!
Also what are the police like in Norwich for riding? Mine isn’t road legal but I haven’t seen police yet. I’m from Leicestershire
There are a lot in the centre of Norwich and few on outskirts!
And the only problem with an AirTag is yes, it’ll make an audible tone after awhile of sitting and someone moves it (that’s if it don’t detect the AirTags owners phone. This is to prevent prime from just sticking on a random persons car and knowing their location all the time !

just a question, is it ok to wrap the L plate around the suspension. i thought it would get in the way of compression
@@jerstev1 this isn’t wrapped around the physical suspension itself (that would be the silver part) where I have my front L plate is on the forks which don’t actively move :)
@@Unstoople makes sense
I think that the biggest issue with these MT125 is the existence of a new KTM DUKE 125 2024. My previous KTM Duke 125 2018 heroically died from engine failure (50k+ kms), so I’ve got a new one and, KTM reliability aside 😅 (though mine didn’t have any problems until the engine failure ) it’s packed with features: 1) Amazing TFT screen (my previous KTM had a pretty nice one, but the knew one is just gorgeous) / you can see who’s calling, accept/cancel calls / turn by turn navigation 2) Cornering ABS (doesn’t have traction control though) 3) 320mm front breaks disc / braided lines 4) ride-by-wire and assist/slipper clutch + for ~220 eur you can unlock quick shifter+ And I believe in UK there is also a discount for these bikes as here in Spain I was able to grab one for less than 5k EUR
KTM 125 DUKE / electrical problems and rain getting in the speedo screen
Hey man, nice vid. Is this your first bike? I’m a foreign student and I’m planning to get a bike. I’m still concerned about the insurance cost, may I ask how much for your 125cc?
Insurance over here in the uk for young drivers are crazy, expect around 1-1.5k in insurance and for a new 125 it is 5k
@@Unstoople thank you so much 👍
I follow you on TikTok
Ay thanks man :)
Do they make automatic ones?
They don’t only manual :)
@@Unstoople thanks, feels bad but it will force me to get out of my safety shell and get a fully manual licence. For now I have learner licence, if I'm happy with 125cc I won't change the bike ever. I live in Europe and they have so many rules and restrictions to get A2 licence. And the top speed you are allowed in our roads is 100khms and police might ignore if 115khms(those are only highway speeds) not sure if this bike will be struggling in highway or small road trips. Need to watch more videos. Sorry for making an essay, my biggest worry is the acceleration speed from 0 - 100, hopefully there is a way to improve it without wrecking the engine 😅
@@constantinosmarinou5605 I know some exhausts can help increase performance of engine because of little things I’m not sure but it can help a little bit, I love my 125 and as fun as big bikes are it’s more than enough for city riding a 125!
