howabout getting to the point of the vid.... no one wants to watch you mess around with a hand ratchet after the 12 week long intro and 42 commercials ...cmon get to the point skip the bs at least buy a cordless tool and speed stuff up a lil....
People complain either way hand tools or power tool usage. There may be someone that just has basic hand tools and this is a good video for them. You are free to not watch my videos if you wish.
i know im a little late to comment, but wouldnt you want a bar and chain on there to calibrate it accordingly? just seems like without them, it would be a little "light" on the load. Anyway, thanks for the video! thumbs up from me
It actually done great with the bar and chain after it got itself sorted out. Customer was more than pleased with having his saw back and running top notch.
Simple and to the point. Thanks for the video. Made my day alot easier. Cruze
I’m guessing there’s not supposed to be anything on the other little nub that sticks out from the handle and sits in a cavity in the flywheel housing part? Mine didn’t have one and the parts list doesn’t even show the nub on the handle.
Looks so so much better with that full wrap bar 👍👍👍👍👍😎
I exploded my 660 EVL. You saved my life. I tried after a few beers and got it and didn't get it put together before it exploded again. Tried it sober and it was a lot easier. I wouldn't even have tried it without your video.
I have one. They're great saws.
What angle tool you using right there?
@@timothyward7381 it’s one that came from Dino it’s one that came from Dyno Joe. It’s pretty much just a digital angle finder attached to a half-inch drill chuck.
Good vid. I was having a hard time getting the throttle linkage set up, but now, ok. It must be the " camera shy' thing.....LOL
I just got an 038 magnum 2. Yours seems quite a bit more peppy than mine lol.
Such a small thing but super helpful, thank you so much JK. Owned this saw for years and now repairing it.
@@JonathanDrew-o4h they’re not horrible bad they’re just way heavier than what they should be
Seems to be doing ok, that is a nice size saw for firewood
@@michaelwhiteoldtimer7648 it’s a lot better than what it was when when I first seen it as a 257
When it gets hot it runs or erratic. Either buildup on the inlet filter screen or rings are wore out. My guess is rings. 🦾
@@ScrewdriverTUNING brand new top end has less than 10 hours of run
@ that sucks. Rings don’t want to break in. Hyway ?? OEM ??
@ white box special
👍👍 howdy Josh
@@crazyfeller5704 how is everything going?
@ can’t complain. Starting to get ready for turkey day.
👍
Great to see ya, brother
@@ironleatherwood I need to get off my rear end and push the record button more often.
it’s a pretty good saw
@@farmbossmikey1350 it’s not too shabby
My great grandpa was a cowboy lineman and he loves stihl saws. He says they’re the best and I have to say I agree with him, I do have a love affair with husqvarna though. 😂 Anyways I’d love to throw a big saw on the bench for him, but to afford it it’d have to be an old runner or a new Chinese saw. Or maybe a hybrid.
@@StihlRunnin I like the 038 runner up was the 371
@ more expensive to buy an oem that don’t run or needs work than to buy Chinese new. So idk
Worked great!!!!! Thanks for the tip!!!!
There are a million different ways to do anything, and this is how i do it. I'm glad it helped you.
Same here as everyone else. I took the break lever off while swapping out the muffler on my 590. This video took the headache away and made reinserting the spring simple and easy. Thanks for the vid, much appreciated.
I’m glad it helped you out
👍👍 nice!
Great ax, Johnny sure builds a great one
He is a craftsman and I am not. I have no shame in giving credit is due.

Howdy Josh. I STILL want to apologize for inadvertently calling you about a month back. I was at a little side job and I was trying to call another employee that’s ALSO named Josh. I should have paid more attention to my “smart Alec" phone. OOPS and please forgive me. 😢

Great to see ya JK. Sweeeet axe and love seeing it in action. Love that sheath as well. Thank you for sharing. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓

the sprocket side seal is that consider the crank seal or oil seal
@@trentondaley7612 they are both actually oil seals if you go to the parts store and buy them. But they are in this application seals.
Great video. I have a 455 Rancher. I bought it about 4 or 5 years ago from a pawn shop, it was in excellent condition. Fast forward to 2024, one of my bar studs have been stripped. I removed the spark plug, and drained the oil. However, I cannot see the studs from the oil tank. They're basically inaccessible from the oil tank. Do you have any advice of how I can remove these studs? Thanks!
maybe they're normal screw in studs like on my 61
@jeremyryder4771 thanks! I tried that, but they wouldn't budge. Guess I'll try a little harder.
Perfect. That's what I needed to know. Thanks!
That a good saw? I have one of my dads he game me. I think I’m going to get it done up
There is a vid on TH-cam from Muffler Delete 101 that he ran this one with a 28” bar
@@JKSawShop that’s crazy! I’m about to let a local guy port mine and clean it up. It will replace some of my Stihl’s if that’s the case!
@@Chit_126 they not bad at all for home owner saw. I built this one for him.
@@JKSawShop that’s all mine will be is for stuff around the house. How much does it cost to get mine rebuilt and ported/cleaned up?

Easy fix, magnet pen works even better. Just sayin.
@@SteveYates-ko6kg I couldn’t find mine anywhere
We started dismantling my husband's 350 because we "lost" the stud. Guess what, we found it! Thanks for the help!
Not a problem. They’re not that difficult to replace either.
EASIER WAY… MAGNET ON A STICK OR SIMILAR, TOOK ME 30 SECS TO GET IT IN…..thank’s FOR THE video..
@@Rustic_Farmer not a problem, I couldn’t find my magnet.
Thank you so much! Saved me a few bucks, and some embarassment, taking it in to get it fixed. What a shocking design flaw.
@@AnnaWooH it’s not as much of a design flaw. as it is of ease of replacement. I have thought about taking a set of bar studs for a Stihl and threading them into the case on a Husqvarna and just using a Stihl bar.
@@JKSawShop I saw this other vid where the guy got a knurling tool and fixed the issue, seems like a pretty easy fix if you have the right gear th-cam.com/video/1XEQRGYAMk0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=h0uS9AJkuRUM4vux

Thanks, very informative.

Got a Black Top just like it....Took it in for a service recently and was told because it had a few scores in the bore and on the piston it was not worth fixing. Got it back in a couple of boxes.....272 kit arrives this week....
@@allandriver2066 should fit just perfectly fine with that 272 and blacktop

Hey, man.At little piece it came off of there. If you're looking at the back of the saw it goes on the carburetor on the left side
I used a really big flat blade screwdriver for that job, worked nice ! do you have any idea where I could get a recoil/pull cord assembly for the timberbear ? thx !
@@bfdlt33 I may have a couple laying around I will have to look
This does not look possible without the bar and chain removed correct ??
@@bfdlt33 I think it’s a lot easier to do it with the clutch cover off, but you probably could fight it on without having to take it off.
