I always say it’s like comparing a Grand Prix to an Audi Q8 both 6cyl , but ones far more expensive lol ppl compare them but in reality it’s 1/4 of the price , so ya can compare but it’s not a fair comparison… I’ve had a g372 for 2 years now and the only thing I replaced on it is the carb , I’ve ran it 45/1 ams oil Sabre, and bell ray H1R , great lil firewood saw , and if you don’t know anything about fixing a saw it’s a good saw to play with , parts are easy to find and all your gna do is learn something new …. Which is always a good thing 👍🏻👌🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Exactly. For a 1/4 of the price, you can’t go wrong even if you have to wrench a few things. ✌️
Superb saw!
Absolutely 👍
nice video
Thanks Ford Guy! ✌️
I think I'm about to but the 372 Pro. Is that different from the XP somehow? Regardless, I'm shopping for any good 70-75cc in the $300-$400 range.
Hey there. One of the biggest difference between this saw and the Pro is that the Pro version has the Walbro carburetor and it’s supposed to be built with a little better quality parts. Since I made this video, I have worked out most of the bad things on my saw, pretty simple to fix and work on. Seems to be holding up. Time will tell. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
i see you can play the axe too..youre very musical lol...love ur vids !!...thumbs up
Hey! That was for you! Haha. Thanks for tuning in again. ✌️
I use a 4lb tasie for splitting my spruce kindling & campfire wood but for my hardwood I have to resort to a hydraulic woodsplitter or I wouldn't be burning a whole lot of firewood come winter time. 😉😉
4lbs is the perfect weight. This axe is about 6lbs. Hand splitting is good exercise but when you need wood for the winter, splitter is the way to go. Thanks for tuning in ✌️.
G’day Shiney. Great idea , friend 👍🏼 I was thinking exactly the same thing, lol. When I made my pickaroon I curved mine a little bit more on the inside edge. Just like a banana shape, but not as curvy, lol. Mine works great. Yours is a beauty too, great job Shiney, I use my petrol powered 30 ton Blackdiamond splitter in conjunction with a 8 Lb maul to split my rounds. Cheers 🍻 Wayne 👍🏼
Hey Wayne. I guess you would need a 30 ton for all that hard eucalyptus you are splitting! Can’t go wrong with a maul. That’s what I usually use to for this stringy tamarack. Keep staying well friend ✌️🍻
@ Thanks, my friend, and as always stay safe and well 👍🏼. Keep your videos coming, they are great 👍🏼
I have the husqvarna 2800 axe I use for splitting firewood and sinking the wedges in the wood I love it would like to get my hands on a stihl axe and see what there like…..pulp hook an pickaroon are your best friend for grabbing wood but the axe is a two an one tool now great job
I’ve used the 2800 before. Very nice axe! Haven’t tried the Stihl axe yet. Take care ✌️
I love them more cu if something breaks ha can still run down the road and get oem parts
Try that on an MS 660. You Won't be able to pull it.
Nah, wouldn’t be that bad. Use your muscles 💪… ✌️
Went pretty fast. I just bought mod muffler. Can’t wait to see the difference.looked more powerful than a 60cc! Sounds great
They make a noticeable improvement John. Have fun with it! ✌️
I came across this video because I was poking around having just had my Husqvarna 440 serviced. The mechanic seemed to think that it's not a quality saw. Really? A Husqvarna? I live in Portugal and thought this would be my forever chainsaw but now I'm not so sure. The carburetor needed to be mostly replaced and it's only 3 years old. The mechanic said it's "fraco" which means weak. I've loaned it to a few people and they likely did not treat it well. No more. They could've messed with the H and L screws or used dirty gasoline. It's not a cheap saw. I will get a corded electric to let people use and see if treating the Husq better will make it perform better for longer with fewer breakdowns. I noticed that my guide bar and clutch is on the right side while the one in this video is on the left.
Hello Hemlock. Thanks for tuning in. The 440 is in the home owner class however it’s packs some decent power for a 40cc saw. I wouldn’t say they are “Fraco” in my opinion. Using dirty or old gas, leaving gas in the saw for long periods can definitely mess up the carburetor. Hopefully the people you loaned it too didn’t damage it. Oh! I filmed the video in selfie mode so the image looks reversed. The bar is on the same side as yours. No different 😆. I have been getting comments on that. Take care, stay well and good luck with your 440. ✌️
The g660 and g372pro as got wallbro carbs
They have a wallbro carb on them it says in description on ebay?
Hey James. The 372 pro’s have the Walbro carbs. The saw I have is not the pro version. In saying that, some speculate that the pro carb is not actually a walbro but a knock off. I have no experience with one just it comes up in some chats on the internet. I bought another Chinese carb and it worked great. The carb that came with it must have been defective. ✌️
@Northofsomething82 thanks was thinking about getting one of them I've been watching a lot of videos on them for the price they look ok I'm only going to be using it for some jobs dont get to many big trees it's only going to be a back up saw 👍
Based of my experience, if you are using it for that purpose, you should go for it. The clones are starting to come along way from the earlier days. I’m not regretting buying mine. I have it dialed in now and it hasn’t given me any further problems. ✌️
Let me know how your chainsaws performs after tuning. ✌️
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I've never tried splitting with an axe like that - used to my splitting mauls. I'll try that sometime - looks fun!
If you can get your hands on one, give it a go. I had a lot of fun with it. I’m going to feature it more and make improvements to the pick part for picking up wood. ✌️
That's how she goes sometimes lol. If a guy never hung up a tree or two, he didn't do much cutting in the bush that's for sure. Wind is one of those weird wild cards, sometimes it can help when trees aren't leaning the right way, but mostly it hinders you. Nothing like waiting between gusts to finish the back cut, because that's not dodgy at all (referencing me, not you). My non-safety Sask approved technique when tree is hung up like yours Put a small strap or chain around tree near the cut, loose enough to get a pry bar or 3-4" 4 foot long stick in Tickle the stump/tree/anything to weaken it to the side you want it to roll Grab stick/bar that's in strap (it's facing straight up) and reef on it If you're lucky, the tree will rotate off the stump and hit the ground. Watch your toes, this is dangerous. Now, if you're still lucky, the tree is hung up on the 2nd trees branches, so you readjust your prybar and repeat. If things go good, the hung tree will rotate out further onto the 2nd trees branches. Might break them and drop the tree and good times follow. It also might kick out right towards you, so be nimble as a goat if you try this.
lol. Yes! You are 100% correct about hanging the odd one up. That was the main point of the video. Some people are too “hung up” on perfection. I like your strap idea. I have a felling leaver with a cant hook on it but I always forget to put it in the truck. Thanks for tuning in. Take care ✌️
@@Northofsomething82 no doubt a cant hook would be 1000x better and easier, but I had to make do with what I had the day I "discovered" this trick🤣 Cheers
Tamarac I heard it burns hot and longer
Tamarac is the hardest of the soft woods up here. It burns wicked hot. Toss a piece or two in the stove for an over nighter, keeps the house warm all night ✌️
If you aren't going to cut limbs with it dull the cutting edge it will not get stuck as bad in stad wood
It works great the pick awesome
Yeah it worked decent. Room for improvements, I have some ideas to make it better. Make it hold onto the wood a tad better. More to come with the axe. Take care ✌️
Ha, Shiney. How good is that fireman’s axe, buddy. It seems to be splitting fine 👍🏼. I cut and split eucalyptus, hardwood for my stove, it’s everywhere down here . Great video again mate. That is cold up there, lol. Hopefully you had a good Christmas and New Years, my friend.
The axe was fun to play around with. I’ll be using it again for sure! I hear eucalyptus is extremely hard! It’s only cold if you are not use to it! Holidays were great, thanks for asking. Back to work now. Take care✌️
Nice axe, Shiney 👍🏼
What kind of wood are you all splitting to burn in your stoves? ✌️
Mostly oak, less often maple. We buy pine in the form of slab wood, so it is easier and faster to deal with it: just saw it and stack it. And splitting oak with an axe was already hard work even at 35, after 45 it became even harder. And after 55, I assume it will be almost impossible. That's why I dream of an electric or hydraulic wood splitter. Of course, if we all survive and defeat the damned Muscovites...
Neat…. I’ve tried splitting with a Pulaski before with limited success but the cheeks are too narrow IMHO, might have to harass the local fire chief and see if they have an old axe being used as a door stop at the station 😂
Pulaski’s are deadly for wildland firefighting. Great tool, I also have one and use it when stump grinding for the prep work. If you can get your hands on the pickaxe let me know what you think! I’m curious as to how it would handle hard wood. ✌️
@ No hardwood around me to try it on, I’m close to grande prairie so pine spruce birch and poplar mostly…
Right on Brother! I’m familiar 😆. Stay well ✌️
Cool that y'all get a chance to repurpose the old gear rather than having it go in the trash 👍👍
It’s a nice perk. ✌️
Don’t forget to change out the air filter to the screen type for winter and back to the flocked in spring.
Screen type? Ok I’m listening 👂. I haven’t seen those around yet! I’ll do my research. Thanks pal! ✌️
G’day Shiny. Great video mate, and all the best for Christmas and New Year, my friend. Keep your great videos coming, brother. Cheers 🍻 Wayne.
Wayne my friend, it’s people like that make me keep turning the camera on. ✌️. Thanks for the support. Keep your head high in the new year. 🍻
@ You too, brother 👍🏼
interesting..first time i saw one of those side covers !..im also curious what tune you were playing on the axe... happy new year and thumbs up !!
😆 thanks Gary. Happy new year to you as well. Take care friend ✌️
Happy New Year to you and your family too.
Thank you 🙏, and same to you. ✌️
Hola principalmente feliz Navidad y próspero año nuevo a todos. Una pregunta cuanto mide la espada
Hello. Merry Christmas to you as well. That is a 16 inch bar on that chainsaw
Is it left handed threads? It looked like you were turning it clockwise to loosen it.
Normal threads James, I’m not sure why it looks like that on camera. ✌️
@Northofsomething82 👍
Great job explaining this .
Glad you found it helpful ✌️.
No because my cousins a firefighter and they play basketball and pickle ball between calls
I have a 562xp and want a pipe, what model& num. is that pipe?
Hey there Craig. I bought the pipe off eBay from an awesome supplier called “Chainsaw performance parts” they have pipes for lots of saws. There was no model number, just the discription for the Husqvarna 562xp. Get on eBay and take a look.
Czóbek
nailed it !..thumbs up
love this video. love how you keep it real with how it is in the real world. i've been in the same situation many times. anyone who says it hasnt happened to him, is either lying or doesnt have much experience. i thought i was watching me lol. i've been saying the same as you about ego's etc and you're 100% right. anyways..keep on keeping on and merry christmas !!...thumbs up
Merry Christmas 🎄 ✌️. Thanks for supporting the channel.
she rips !!
2 great saws...hope the 572 broke in with better throttle response ....the throttle response on my 572 is unbelieveable . love your videos !!...thumbs up
Hey Gary. Welcome back! Yes the saw broke in great. I put a mod on the muffler. 572 and 562 are my go too saws at the moment. ✌️
great honest review. i ordered same saw but it got lost in the mail so i got a husky 572..great saw and the auto tune is great...glad to find your channel down here in NS...subscribed !!...thumbs up
Hey Gary, thanks for the sub! I got some videos on the 572 as well. Take care ✌️
That’s a great little unit, Shiney 👍🏼.
Was u running 572, or 592? In that uncertain situation i would cut wider, and deeper face cut, to gain that quicker fall down momentum, but yeah - sometimes is easier to say then done! Stay safe, don't put your life in danger, its not worth it...
Yes opening up the face cut might have given me the momentum to clear the crowns. I’m running a 572 in this video. Thanks for tuning in! Stay well ✌️
when the wind is rocking your trees around like that you are not going to have a good day
You are absolutely correct. Part of the struggle. ✌️
Left handed saw? Lol
Camera was in selfie mode. ✌️
G’day Shiney. Great video mate 👍🏼. I always enjoy your content, friend. That saw sounds mad with that muffler. That sure is some nice cutting and firewood. Merry Christmas to you and family, my friend… Wayne 👍🏼.
Cheers Wayne. You take care as well merry Christmas! ✌️.
@@Northofsomething82 Will do mate…. All the best to you and family.
husqvarna 120 mark and stihl ms 182 which
I have real husqvarna saws and clones there hit or miss but my buddy built me a 372xp outta a kit saw had 4 years use heck outta it and it's one best saws I got .but git a 288xp clone already assembled and it's had issues
I am thinking of getting the G372 after the issues you've fixed with it, do you think its worth it?
Yes. If you can still get them for a decent price do it. Just be prepared to fix a few things. My fixes have been simple and not that expensive. Also from what I’m hearing, the quality has gotten better over the past couple years. ✌️
Thank you Sir! :) I just bought the Husqvarna 120 Mark II here in Sweden for $229 (Black day or something..) and I am obsessed with being able to tweak stuff from original to perfection. CPU, GPU, Automotive lighting, engines, heat pumps, etc. I will do this muffler-mod, and report back! Also, you have a self-deprecating sense of humour, that is a very important personal trait since we are all entering the dark ages. Keep up the good work! =)
The mod will help with throttle response and overheating. The saw does perform better IMO. Thanks you for the kind words. ✌️
Just added this little saw to collection
