Shia is the second largest branch of Islam. It holds that the Prophet Muhammad PBUH designated Hazrat Ali ibn-e-Abi Talib AS his successor and the Imam (spiritual and political leader) after Him, most notably at the event of Ghadeer-e-Khum. This view primarily contrasts with that of Sunni Islam, whose adherents believe that Hazrat Muhammad PBUH did not appoint a successor before his death.

On September 21, 2024, a wonderful conference was held under the title of Unity of the Ummah in Jamia Urwat-ul-wusqa, Lahore. In which scholars of all Muslim sects of Pakistan, important socio-political figures and special representatives from Iran participated.
All the Shia and Sunni scholars and thinkers participating in this conference called Shia and Sunni unity as the most important need of the hour.
Addressing the conference, Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi said that he has received a threat from the interior ministry of Pakistan that if he does not give up his support for the Palestinians, he may be banned.
All Shia and Sunni Muslims participating in the conference also raised slogans in support of the Palestinians.

اس سے آقائے راحت حسین الحسینی کی گہری بصیرت کا بھی بخوبی اندازہ لگایا جا سکتا ہے۔ شاید آغائے راحت حسین الحسینی استاد محترم سید جواد نقوی حفظہ اللہ سے پہلے ملک کے دیگر مشہور علماء سے آشنا تھے پھر بھی وہ بہت جلد استاد محترم سے اس حد تک متاثر ہوئے ہیں۔ اس سے استاد محترم کے مثالی کردار کا بھی اندازہ ہوتا ہے چونکہ آغائے راحت حسین الحسینی پاکستان کے واحد شیعہ اکثریتی خطے کے سب کے لئے قابل بھروسہ اور صاحب تقوٰی قائد ہیں!
