The brown haired girl with nagisa reminds me a lot of the teddy bear themed magical girl at the end of the original series that Madoka helps

Great analysis, thoroughly enjoyed the video! I'm also in the camp that the other versions of Homura are Clara Dolls that have sort of "grown up". I wonder what's going on with the the other members of the Holy Quintet. I originally thought that it could possibly be a result of Homura taking up the Incubators original role but it seems like Sayaka still has her powers at the end of Rebellion. Plus, Kyoko can be seen wearing two different outfits in both of the trailers so I wonder what exactly is going on there. Seeing so many elements from the Concept Movie being brought over I wonder if the "golden hero" Mami will be brought over in any fashion. I'm still curious on how Walpurgisnacht plays into this movie and how these threads get tied together.

I'm pretty sure the girl playing with Nagisa has a similar school outfit as the middle schoolers, so I'm not sure if she's the same age as Nagisa.

I don't remember where, but I saw/heard once that Walpurgis and Gretchen together create thee form of an hour-glass, Walpurgis is the top and Gretchen is the bottom. Also, the new magical girl had two pigtails that resemble an awfull lot the scroll part of a Violin at the end, so maybe this girls are manifestations of the main characters wishes that they originally made.

I'm fairly certain the purplish-hair Homura is definitely not Homura, but is connected to her somehow. My current guess is she's Walpurgisnacht. Homura, Madoka and Walp being linked would make for an interesting story that I'd love to see.

I'm becoming increasingly convinced that the "Homura is Walpurgisnacht" theory is true and I hate it. I desperately wish for it to not be true...

I still think gown homura is demon homura demon homura is a little creepy and always was smug and very theatrical also the salamander is specifically a devil homura thing and the gown homura has that all over her I think there’s only two Homura’s I think headband homura is still devil homura or at least just an extension of her.

I want to point out that the Green-haired girl is in the concept trailer and you can even see her magical girl outfit which resembles a birdcage. There’s another girl in the concept trailer that resembles one of the random girls that Madoka saves at the end of the original show but that girl also has the exact same hair color as the young girl in the ball pit. Also Sayaka still knows that Homura is a demon even after her memory was erased. Sayaka could be trying to learn the truth about Homura

This. I've been waiting for this for a very long time. I am so excited for this, it's like Infinity War/Endgame all over again for me.

Few things. For the new character, I don't think it's the law of cycles. At the end of rebellion we see sayaka and Nagisa got stuck in Homura's new world as well. But we also saw Anthony's there too and also some container that said "Gertrude" in runes. While they have witch powers we know that they're not the same as witches from the original series. If Madoka is god than they're her angels. In Rebellion Kyubey asks what they are and this is what Nagisa and Sayaka tell him (円環の理に導かれ　この世の因果を外れた者たち (which means something like "guided by the law of cycles(madoka) we are beings that escaped the the karmic fate of this world") this is at 1:26:29 (tho the full explanation of what they are starts at 1:26:22)). Since we know sayaka and Nagisa are in this world and they retain a similar state as previously (sayaka tries to summon her witch form before Homura erases her memories) we can conclude that the familiars that got trapped as well must be similar. To put it more simply, they're not witches and they're not spreading curses. Also, based on these factors, Homura CANNOT be Walpurgisnacht. At the end of rebellion Madoka appeared and Sayaka and Nagisa were in a carriage pulled by one of Walpurgisnacht's familiars. Madoka already brought Walpurgistnacht into the law of cycles, there is no way her elephant familiar would be present at the end of Rebellion if this were not the case. (I find it interesting a lot of people seemed to miss this detail, but it really puts a wrench in the idea that homura is walpurgisnacht. Or at the very least it indicates this can only end one way - Homura is defeated and joins Madoka in the law of cycles (which I'm not sure is how it will end since Urobuchi tends to dislike things that end where they started. So I don't think things will end so simply.)) My thought is, similar to Sayaka and Nagisa, Walpurgisnacht was also trapped in this new world. And in fact maybe all the angels (witches) were. Or maybe only the ones that had familiars manifested when madoka came to take homura. or perhaps it was just the familiars trapped but the main form still remain... wherever the law of cycles is. Either way one thing is for sure - walpurgisnacht is DEFINITLY trapped in Homura's new world, either just her familiar or her entire self. So who is this new character? My guess - walpurgisnacht in magical girl form. Tho it's possible your assessment is the correct one, we'll have to wait and see. I hadn't considered your idea, tho I'm not super sure it makes sense since madoka IS the law of cycles. Now for the multiple Homura, I'm 90% sure they're Clara dolls. In the original series it's said that familiars can evolve into full witches. So I think that's what's going on here, and if u look at the scene at the end of the trailer with her standing on the... whatever it is they're standing on, and count the clara dolls there are 12... unless u count the 3 homuras, then there are 15 which is how many clara dolls there are. So I don't think it's time travel or alternate universes (tho it's possible these may play a role in some way). The redesigns I have no ideas on atm, but I think in Sayaka's case it's because she's specifically having her powers being nerfed by Homura. Could be a similar case for the others. If you look at the concept movie, which this one seems to have been based on, then it might shed some light on a few things. In it we see Kyoko fighting witches, and seemingly Mami fighting Homura. the redesigns may be two different things - Homura buffing Kyoko (who is on her side) and her nerfing Mami similar to Sayaka. Tho that's just speculation and not much basis for it. There is also a lot of concept art of Homura fighting witches which lends evidence to what I said above. Also Sayaka still seems to be an angel in it with her witch form showing up in the concept movie (tho this was also the case at the end of rebellion so the concept movie isn't really giving us anything new here). Also in the concept trailer there's a line where Madoka says "助けてくれの？あなたたちも妖精さん？" which roughly means "you can help me? You're also fairies?" My assumption here is she's talking about familiars helping her. My thought is the movie is going to be about the angels (again, witches taken by the law of cycles) trying to get Madoka her power back or something.

I just got into Madoka Magica recently and i need to say, this trailer is the best anime trailer i've seen so far. Litterally cannot wait for the movie to release. Also here are some of my theories: The whole movie will be similar to the first original series. In the sense that Homura will try to stop Madoka from relizing who she truly is. I think we already see glimpses of it in the trailer that being Madoka jumping off seemlingly killing herself. We also saw this at the end of rebellion, with Madoka almost truning back before Homura stops her. I think Madoka will slowly realize that this is all wrong and thath she is supposed to be the Law of the Cycle, maybe becuase of the advent of witches, maybe thanks to the new Magical girl "Amalgamation" as you call her, maybe thourght something else (the incubators for example). Plus i think the waaay more powerful "Devil" Homura will send her back in time over and over again trying to stop Madoka from ever learning the truth, so that she can stay with her forever. I also have another theory, which is way more far fetched, but it's that the new girl is actually the magical girl that became Walpurgisnacht, and that the reason she is so powerful is that she is, as you said, an amalgamation of various powers from the magical girls (the bow, the ribbons, even maybe the ability to cure/stop time). But this is too far fetched and i don't think it will actually happen.

Before I watch the theories in this video, I wanted to express the one I assumed.. which was that some sort of sacrifice was made from each member of the group to spawn a whole nother magical girl/different type being. Now after watching the theories, I wonder if the other members of the group made contracts with Parasol Homura and were handicapped by it in some way or just out of resentment by Homura. Maybe the new character is a version of Madoka and Homura conbined. Or a being spawned out memories that refuse/ can't be destroyed. Cool video! 🪄🔮 I'm hyped for whatever the story is 🌠✨

What if the witch is Madoka?

Hear me out.. what if the new character could be hitomi

I think that the voice on the phone is either referencing the "new" girl or is the new girl speaking to Homura. She does show up immediately after the phone call stops. "A Magical Girl I don't know. Bring hope" Could reference the new girl, if she's there to restore Madoka. "That's love. What nonsense. Devil." Sounds like the voice dismissing Homura's claim that she did what she did out of love. "Release that girl" also sounds like something directed at Homura. If we go with the idea that the new girl is an amalgam of Madoka, Mami and Homura, then each line could be a different side of her. "What nonsense. Devil" is said with multiple voices, then a phone hangs up but the voice continues, then "Just bring hope" is said with two voices instead of multiple (like there were three but then one hung up). And the message does seem to become more directed after one of the voices hangs up (the one who hung up being the Homura-side of the amalgam). Though, I don't think that the amalgam is the Law of Cycles, I think she's an subconscious creation of Homura's. She's the Madoka who became a Magical Girl despite Homura's best efforts, she's the Mami who Homura could never beat/who introduced her into the world of Magical Girl's alongside Madoka, and she's the Homura who knows what she's doing is wrong/who failed to protect Madoka. She's a self-sabotage in Homura's "perfect" world, like how Homura unknowingly sabotaged her perfect world in Rebellion because she couldn't accept it and be happy. The three-layered voice and Homura both say "And so, let the curtain rise on tonight's dream" after all. That, or the new girl is the one who's Walpurgisnacht. Since she's an amalgam herself of many Witches, she wouldn't have a "true" human form, so she instead gets a human form that's based off of Madoka, Homura and Mami. Madoka and Homura are tied into Walpurgisnacht, and Mami could be in there because she did make it to fight (and die) against the Witch in the original timeline. The mirrored "And so, let the curtain rise on tonight's dream" suggests a Walpurgisnacht influence since her entire thing was making the world a play. It could even be both. She's a subconscious sabotage from Homura, which takes the form of Walpurgisnacht because she can never truly escape that Witch she failed to kill.

You could also say the two homuras are part of her law of cycles. Bear with me here. In Rebellion Homura takes the human parts of Madoka off the Law so they can be together. Being an entity akin to the Law of Cycles(supposedly) Homura may also have fractured with the pressure of controlling an entire universe. So ribbon Homura is the one we all know and love and hairband Homura is the part without real feelings, that makes up the part of Homura that has holds onto the Law of Cycles. Maybe! I don't know!

This is going to be a long comment. You more or less said almost everything I theorized before after the trailer. The only thing I might change is that Kyubey might be behind Walpurgisnacht in some way. I say this mainly due to the post credits scene in Rebellion where we see one Kyubey laden with curses shivering on the ground, as well as one in the shadows that seems fine. I know some have said this is the same Kyubey, but I don't think it is because because they look different from each other, Homura seems surprised when she noticed it (implying she can't keep track of it or control it), and it's clearly in a different location from the one Homura proceeds to dance around. If the Incubators were able to isolate Homura from the law of cycles, then I'd imagine they could isolate the curses to a single copy of themselves. Given that Homura has placed all that energy into a copy of it, I get the impression that they are busy analyzing what they could do with all that energy when they are the ones possessing it and are just waiting for an opportunity to make a move when they feel they have the upper hand. Essentially, they make Walpurgisnacht because Homura gives them all the necessary ingredients to do so, the final ingredient being one of Homura's alternate timeline selves in order to gain her time travel ability. Walpurgisnacht would basically be a tool to accomplish Kyubey's goal of counteracting entropy. To explain: Homura's universe is unstable, and despite creating it, she isn't totally in control of it. She can't control it because when she created it she lacked the ability to account for all possible outcomes due to the limitations of her human mind and this is the same as in Madoka's wish as well as Madoka lost control of her own universe for the same reason. Kyubey on the other hand has more than enough brainpower to account for almost all possible outcomes, and even if caught off guard, his intelligence can likely compensate for the unexpected. This is exactly what they did when Madoka caught them off guard, and they were able to outsmart Madoka in her own universe. I also think that when Kyubey says "Trying to make use of human emotions is just too dangerous. We could never hope to control anything so unpredictable," he's not saying he won't meddle with humans anymore, but rather he wants to take humans out of the equation all together while still gaining all of the potential energy humans possess. He actually does this when Madoka kills Walpurgisnacht in one of the timelines and becomes a witch. Kyubey mentions that the energy created by Madoka's witch is more than enough to fill his quota, and that Earth would be destroyed by Madoka's witch. Not only did he reap all the energy he could from humanity, but he also destroyed it meaning he'd no longer have to deal with humans. Walpurgisnacht is the final solution to reap all possible energy from humanity while also removing the inconvenience of using humanity as an energy source.

To me the amalgamation looks a lot like a clara doll in design, hair color, and dress palette, as the many other homuras seem too. And there is a clara doll that we never have seen, love i think? I mean, parasoul homura has a pattern on her headpiece that looks like a cross of sorts, and one of the clara dolls have the same in her hat, so im guessing is her because the clara dolls are always smiling anyways.And about walpurgis, I think in the part of the re-edition of the manga were madoka goes around saving magical girls they changed a panel specifically to show a gear themed magical girl, wasn't she supposed to be walpurgis eventually?

Madoka Magica is the stuff from Hidamari Sketch turned into a dark magical girl anime. Hidamari Sketch is the one TRUE predecessor to Madoka Magica, NOT Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, nor Tokyo Mew mew, and not even the Nanoha franchise.

Sayaka’s bandages arent really indicative that shes heavily hurt or scarred, it could easily mean other things. Especially because all magical girls heal using magic, sayaka just had stronger/faster healing

I truly believe that the assumption of the law of cycles being the amalgamation is correct since Homura states that she took the records of who Madoka before the wish out of it but otherwise it works as intended and is a side of Madoka and what she went through upon apotheosis that Homura is fully unfamiliar with in all ways(she is actually taken by surprise Madoka states she doesn’t agree with her in Rebellion). The three Homuras seem to be her two sides that were talked about in Rebellion and the devil(the magical girl that would be willing to die for Madoka, the sad witchy mishaped girl that wants Madoka above all consequences and lastly the devil that is the final culmination of the 2nd one and while holding no regrets she will bravely accept and face the consequences of what happened and keep things going as long as she can). Walpurgisnaught being it’s true name or not is irrelevant and the magical girl is shown being saved by Madoka near a fair. The creator’s notes give a very specific statement that Walpurgis and Homura have the same relationship as Mami and Charlotte(Mami’s power comes from a ribbon that’d keep her tied to life while Charlotte had magic that would free itself with shed skin whenever bound) so Walpurgis having a theme of inevitable and continuous despair and Homura having a power to avoid undesired circumstances were deliberately set by the writers way back. The text of Walpurgis is taken directly from material that has existed for years. I am though uncertain(actually doubtful) that the three Homura’s are not just her states of mind instead of actual characters and Homura is just dressing differently cause Walpurgis was always meant to be her undoing and is doing it for the lolz.

The character that jumps off of the roof is the same character with the dirty blonde hair more than likely, she has the same hairstyle with the one sided ponytail.

Also, during the shot where we see the three Homura on the paper tour, we can also see what seems to be an happier version of Homulilly's familiars, enforcing the fact that the Homura of the tour, is the Homura from rebellion, but one who didn't get rid of her witch identity, meaning it can be related as her being (part of) Walpurgisnacht Moreover, we see the title "Magica Quartet" meaning that there won't be Holy Quinted anymore in the film. What is yet to know is who will be the fourth member of the quarter, Homura or Madoka ? Or is it the Amalgamation, meaning that Madoka won't find her powers back and Homura will stay the forever antagonist from now. What is also intriguing is that Hitomi seems to pass through every situation the universe faces, and nobody seems to find it weird or ask questions about it, this character has a major plot twist potential, making me fear her.

After waiting many, many, many days, we finally get it?? I know we are all excited about this movie, but why did we have to wait this long? It's freaking frustrating, and the fans that are waiting this long, my goodness, we're already probably dead from old age, but anyway, i'm excited. I can't wait to see the movie!!
