Cut Out Clean Up
มุมมอง 110หลายเดือนก่อน
The bees are cleaning up some comb from a couple of cut outs we did. We crush and strained out the honey and the bees are cleaning up the rest so I can melt down the wax. #beekeeper #beecolony #beehive #beekeeping #bees #beefriendly #honey #beelife

Drawing Comb with a Nucleus Colony

Tom was out checking hives today and came across this comb building Nuc!
Wax Dipping Compilation
มุมมอง 78หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a compilation of us wax dipping in 2022 and 2023. We've sourced premixed wax specifically formulated for wax dipping beekeeping equipment. In these videos we sourced our wax, which is a mix of parrafin and microcrystaline from Blended Waxes. Since NAHBE 2024 we have begun using HiveGuard wax that we have purchased from Thorne MFG and Miller Bee Supply. Our dipping tank was designed by T...
Harvesting Emerging Queens
มุมมอง 157หลายเดือนก่อน
We came across a hive we were letting requeen itself and found queens emerging from capped cells as we were doing our inspection. This is a video showing how we harvested the nearly emerging virgin queens. #bee #beelife #beekeeping #honeybee #spring #queen #queenbee #virginqueenbee #beekeeper #beelover

I haven't started mine yet. I hope to this weekend!! I love honey extraction time!
That’s awesome!!!
@@rodneymiddleton9624 thanks 😊
Nice looking hive!!
@@horizontalbees3480 thanks 😊
We do love our concentrated insect vomit!
😂
nice so cool, but where's the honey syrup go?
We will settle it out in 55 gallon barrels for a few days then transfer it into 5 gallon food grade buckets.
Who gets to clean that machine 😮
Wait… We have to clean it 😮!
This is how delicious honey is harvested?
@@rehamkcirtap yes it is!
Niiiice! Whatcha do with all the wax?
@@charlesthevoice1064 we melt it down and clean it, then use it to make lip balms and beeswax candles.
@@viahoneybees excellent!
It's a genuine sticky situation here😅
@@cyrus00775 yes it is!
Very cool
@@user-ij4vz6vd3g thanks 😊
Never heard if a Luzon uncapper 🤔
@@33MileBees haha sticky hands got me there. I’ll have to fix it.
do hives ever run with more than one queen with no aggression between them?
@@hakirby I have never personally experienced this. I have however heard of beekeepers having mother and daughter queens run with no issue. We have found multiple virgin queens in swarms, often bees will be balling the “extra” queens they don’t want.
Nice field, great spot for bees. 🤨I like the narrow feeders, what are those? Thanks for sharing, Blessed Days...👍
@@dcsblessedbees this is our first time using them so hopefully they work well. meyerbees.com/product/anel-division-board-narrow-frame-feeder/
I've noticed that my bees too are still bringing a little bit of something over here in Union. I'm not sure what it is but there is still a little white clover and mimosa
@@benschmitt5619 same here, probably thanks to all the rain we’ve been getting lately. When we pull supers we’ll put a deep box with empty plastic foundation on the hives to give them room and hopefully get them to draw out some frames with the remaining flow going on.
@viahoneybees if you haven't looked around yet, keep your supers close. Tall goldenrod is growing fast. With all the rain, I think we'll be able to fill a couple
Good stuff, rain or shine. Beekeepers in the storm. My last graft is this coming Sunday. Refilling 18 nucs for overwintering.
Short & sweet- Good job!!! I drove11 miles today to get Feral Swarm, but didn't go as planned! Finished cleaning up from extraction yesterday - took off about 500 lbs.
@@soapstoneapiaries we were planning to start pulling today, but with the rain we held off. We got just over 1.5 inches.
I like to spread the stuff out so they don't kill themselves. So the flow is over in Missouri ?? LOL
Do you do many cut outs?
We do about 2 a week. It just really depends on how busy our schedule is if we can squeeze them in.
😮Hungry 🐝!!!!
Totally awesome!!!
Great video! Unless they start out picking older larvae, I would think that there could be up to a 4 or 5 day spread in the age of the queen cells if the old queen were still laying eggs the day she got squished or balled. Am I off base?
I love using nucleus colonies to draw comb
Beautiful 🤩
Melissa, why did you let Tom pee on that box.. 😂 Great video 😮
Haha When you gotta go, you gotta go! 🤣🤣🤣
Lol
Cool video guys.
What does VIA stand for??
Our kids names. Vanessa, Isaac, & Andrew. It also mean “by the” or “from the” honeybees
Great video!
Thanks Bryan
I like the method of not picking up the workers. Ya make picking up bees to easy 😮!!!!
Watching queens emerge never get old. Cool video to you two!
Thanks James. I agree watching them emerge is always cool.
👋😁👍
Interesting 😊
Find a good stiff feather to brush with. The bee's hate the brush.
That was the 2nd biggest swarm I've seen and I have watched well over 100. 628DirtRooster still holds the biggest I found. You guys had me in knots not putting boxes on immediately, I was sure they were going to take off once they measured and spread the word. Nice catch...
Massive!
That's nice piece of machinery made that job easy peasy! Looking forward to keeping up with yalls videos! Good job guys!
Thanks guys!
That's definitely the biggest I have seen! Also I'm glad I'm not the only one who looks at a swam and thinks "yea , I wanna stick my hand in that" they feel like velvet. Its amazing
😲Nice😁
Now that is a monster!!! 😮😮😮
👋Fun, fun.😁
Welcome to YT. Good see a video.👍
