I don't buy bread anymore! The new perfect recipe for sandwich bread
Forget supermarket sandwich bread, I bring you the perfect recipe for a healthier and much tastier homemade sandwich bread. It is soft as a pillow inside, the crust is thin and crispy, and the toasted flax seeds on top add an amazing aroma! This bread is perfect for sandwiches, toast, or just to eat on its own. It is so easy to make, you will never buy bread again!
Ingredients:
• Water: ⅔ cup (160 ml)
• Fresh yeast: 1 tsp. (3 g) or dry yeast: ½ tsp. (2 g)
• Plain yogurt: ¼ cup (60 g)
• Vegetable oil: 1 tbsp.
• Bread flour: 2 ½ cups (320g)
• Crushed or whole flaxseed: 2 tbsp. (15g)
• Salt: 1 tsp. (6g)
Note:
• If you use instant yeast, add it directly to the flour, no need to mix it with water
• If you use dry active yeast, mix it with water and a little sugar and let it activate for 5-10 minutes. If it starts to foam, then the yeast is alive and active, otherwise don't use it
• If you use fresh yeast you can either mix it with water as I did for a better distribution, or crumble it into the flour.

    First - let me thank you for re-awakening my interest in bread baking, BUT - why such tiny breads? These are oversize buns. Great and very pleasant vids - but 320g of flour/6 makes a micro loaf = buns. I must admit these tiny ones bake more rapidly but ....

    Your bread looks amazing… but I don’t understand your measurements… 220ml is not 1 cup, and you state that 1tsp of sugar is 4g, but later you say that 1tsp of salt is 6g?

      Hi Sung, yes, 1 tsp. of salt is heavier than 1 tsp. of sugar. Choose one of the two measurements, either by weight or by volume (I recommend weighing the ingredients if possible).

    Does any one know why they put the salt when the flour has become Doug. Should it be mixed when the flour is dry to mix thoroughly.

      I don't like the salt coming into direct contact with the yeast, call it a tradition. You can do it like you said, there's no harm in it. Don't worry about the salt, it will perfectly distribute in any case.

      Have fun! Make sure the initial consistency of the dough is like the one you see in my video, after that a good crumb is ensured.
