Always interesting to watch your videos brother. You definitely do great work Ronnie. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us, it is appreciated 👍
Thank you, it's fun sharing what I do with ya'll. We appreciate you for hanging out with us regular.
I know this works , wouldn’t you want alittle more even pressure on the paper or does it really matter ( I seen he wrapped it twice )
Hell ya bro.
@heathszenasi5617 Thank you, appreciate you stopping by to visit Hillbilly Garage. We hope you check out everything else we got going on in the shop.
Better get all the grit outta the oil galleys
@chuckwhitson654 YES! I chuck 7 or 8 pipe cleaners and a piece of mechanics wire, between my vice and drill. Twist them up pretty tight. With it still in the drill, run it in and out the oil passages with brake clean. Thank you for great advice. Thank you for visiting Hillbilly Garage, please keep stopping by.
@Hillbillygarage1215 well I figured that you would. Alot of younger cats wont think hard on that
@chuckwhitson654 I try to be as thorough as I can cleaning stuff as I go. Especially oil passages, I use oven cleaner, Purple Power, Simple Green, Dawn dish soap, brake clean and pressure washer to get every nook and cranny I can get too.
works perfect
@jimclarke1108 Thank you for visiting with us here at Hillbilly Garage we look forward to you visiting regular.
Old school. Been there. It ain't rocket science. You're just polishing it. Not grinding
600 grit? Ive done 1000 1500 and 2500 but never went as low as 600 that seems a little aggressive!
Coupla hours of hand jobin........Thats what I told her.

What code was your truck throwing
It has been a pretty long time since I did this job. I do not remember the code "number" but the description on my code reader was "misfire cylinder #8". That is all I can remember, sorry.
West By God! I love it
AMEN Brother! Thank you for your Service! Appreciate you visiting Hillbilly Garage please keep coming back regular.
Great catch pan thanks fir the tips
Thank you, I have tried a couple different options trying to avoid paying a bunch of money for the pans that straddle the bottom leg. This idea just seems to be easier and less expensive yet better in a couple ways. Thank you for visiting with us here at Hillbilly Garage we hope too see you often.
I use this on anything that isn't painted. Works really well. Especially if the parts are warm to start with
It would be nice if I had them warmed up but it's always stone cold so far. It still helps break it up and I go right over the paint as well. I usually use a needle scaler to knock off loose paint during the cleaning process.
Thank you for visiting Hillbilly Garage
I'm gonna have to start watching more of your videos.
@phillipthethird42 that is what we like to hear. Thank you for tuning in regular.
@Hillbillygarage1215 Just goes to show ya that no matter how old I get, I can still learn something new.
@phillipthethird42 I hope to learn something everyday.
This is a great way to do this. Well done!
@CommanderAndThief thank you I like doing it this way, I get a sense of accomplishment from it and I thinks it's cool to see my reflection in it. Thanks for visiting Hillbilly Garage please check out the rest of the channel and see how we do it here.
Been there done that.❤ Spect out with in minimum factory tolerance. Who needs a fancy machine shop?😊
@krisdrinkwine6045 yeh, if you get into them before they spin bearings, they can be revived and run great and be lots of fun for a really long time. Thank you for visiting with us here at Hillbilly Garage. Check out the rest of what all we got going on.
And that's how you do it!
@RonRussell-sj1zf it's kinda rough on the shoulders, but I really get a kick out of how they look when I'm done. Thank you for stopping by Hillbilly Garage. Keep coming back, we will be bringing a video on Magnum cam bearings very soon.

Doesn't your old lady tell you you're an a$$hole for doing that in the middle of the driveway? I'll give ya one thing...ya sure can make a mess partner.

Great music, It's like the guy that took his wife to the class reunion, everybody was dancing and he turned to his wife and said oh look there's my old girlfriend Paula, wonder what she's been up to do you mind if I dance with her, his wife replied no not at all, So I walked up to Paul and said would you like to dance sure she replied, he asked her what she's been up to the last 20 years, Paula replied I've been married three times he said three times gosh what happened, she said the first one was a doctor all he could do was examine it, the second one was a preacher all he could do was pray over it, the third one we're getting along pretty well Paula replied, the guy replied so what does he do for a living, Paula replied he's a shade tree mechanic, one night hey tore it all the hell and he's been playing with it ever since😂.
@sherwinstaudt1881 Too funny, thank you stopping in to Hillbilly Garage and we hope you keep coming back. Tell all your friends!
Measure it first.

Bullet proof engine
Yes, I am really looking forward to getting this one on the run stand to get it fired up and hear it roar! Thank you for visiting Hillbilly Garage
Definitely works, working at a Volvo/Mack dealer I did that on a D13 diesel that was pushing fuel into the crankcase. Then I replaced the bearings. She was good as new afterwards.
Yes, as long as there ain't no severe scratches they usually clean up real nice without removing much material
Thank you for stopping by Hillbilly Garage hope you check out the rest of the channel.

Thank you, it's pretty satisfying to see the final shine. We appreciate you visiting with us. Please check out the rest of the channel and keep coming back.
Probly works better than the crap reformulated brake cleaner thats badically water now. I unsubbed from tonys channle though. Hes a fing moron sometimes. Claims he knows amc engines like the back of his hand but he really doesnt
I use Brake clean from WalMart and Rural King and I have good results from them. I don't care for most stuff from that channel you mentioned. A lot of what is said seems SUS to me. LOL Thank you for checking out Hillbilly Garage please keep coming back.
I'm always picking up on great ideas from you . Thanks!
@williesweetjr8713 thank you for visiting regular

Motor 305 😂😊
@victorvaldez6684 yep one in the video is a 305. I like reviving a bunch of different engines. Got some MOPARS in the shop now. Stop in and check out what's going on
I bought a spray bottle of some random orange cleaner at dollar tree for 1.25$. I would love to tell you what it was, but it was strong enough it cleaned the printing off the outside of the bottle. Going to get more next time I'm there, so good It would take the white off of rice......
I'm gonna look for that and try it out. Maybe it will be a good pre-treat or something. Thanks for stopping by Hillbilly Garage
Lye lye lye works to remove gaskets too...get the stuff that burns skin...cause they got the eco crap too! 😂😂😂
I use wire wheels and rolloc disks for cleaning gasket surfaces
Probably going to add some more horsepower got to get me some of that
@robertduran1945 well I guess if you knock a few pounds of grime off, it might make more power? LOL Definitely run a degree or two cooler, so you might gain there? Thank you for visiting with us please keep coming back and see what all is going on at Hillbilly Garage
I feel like I'm looking in a mirror ! It's nice to see others that are the same as I am
@vyeronicavanwallegham6586 I'm glad you came by to visit. I hope you keep coming back. If you have advice/suggestions, I would like to know how you get things done.
I thought sure that was a PROPANE HEATER,,,,, I'M SURE GLAD YOU SAID IT WAS A KARO-SYRUP HEATER😮 CHAD could have done it FASTER 😮
I'm a little older so it makes me a little slower. Thank you for stopping in to Hillbilly Garage. Keep coming back and see what all we got going on here.
This video popped up in my suggestions. If you look up Charles Servidio, he did a whole series on these heads... he got them over 300cfm, but they were a very big port, way too big for a street driven 350 without a lot of rpm, but there is potential if you know what to do.
@@Doober12082 I have another set of heads I'm gonna work on soon. I plan on cutting the next ones a bit more. I don't have access to a flow bench but they will be better than when they started.
Charles' video series on the heads is very in depth, he does small cuts/blends and measures the differences. He cut the vane down a LOT to get those numbers, and the head was something like 250cc+ by the time he was done.
I use oven cleaner on my 2 stroke header pipe .good stuff
@shaunwells4173 thats cool, thank you for visiting please keep coming back and check out all that we have going on at Hillbilly Garage

Good update video. Ya know , I'm in Northwest Florida and it's even been cold here. And next week, they are predicting temps in the teen and possibly snow for us. So , I haven't done anything myself except stay in the house and try to keep warm.

Happy New Year! I got to put that tool on my wish list to replace my non locking knuckle buster valve spring compressor!
Should try and keep those secrets to yourself otherwise they'll raise the price up
@vernonharvell5620 good tip, thank you. Also thanks for visiting Hillbilly Garage please keep checking in and see what all we got going on.
And by "hex head" you are referring to bolts that are turned with an allen head tool, correct?
I noticed he had a 305 but toward end of video he's dropping gauge on a 350 with new pistons means two total different motors but yea enjoyed video
Yes, I did have two different engines going on in this video. I have rolled the miles back on several engines so far you can check out the full videos at Hillbilly Garage to see how they progress. Thank you
Because you can totally tell the difference between a 305 and a 350 in this video. Yea 2 different motors, but how t f are you guessing on displacement.....
Everything is a conspiracy theory these days 😂😂🎉
You can't tell the difference between a 305 and a 350 from this video only reason you noticed was he went from working on 84 plus heads to working on pre tbi style heads and intake
You noticed the difference in the crank shaft/ shaft's. Joker 😂
