The HIHP Speed is the next generation of the HIHP series. Harley was excited to make a board that had no consideration on where the World Longboard Tour is going next and the judging direction. This model is all about making a really good all-round performance 9’1. The narrowing of the ends and adjustment of the wide point means there is a greater overall curve allowing you to turn closer in ti...

Ripping mate Cheers 🍻 CrouchOz
I would enjoy this much more if it were just regular speed. It would help to see how the board goes.
Is that the 6,4 ? how would you compare to the carbon construction ?
Yes its the 6'4.. Just a little stiffer feeling under feet. Both work in everything but prefer the Red in most normal conditions.
Where can I buy this board?
Where do you live?
@@harleyingleby I live in Korea!! 😭
@@박민서-k2d send DB an email on db@dongbinsports.com maybe company name is Five Works ?
Are you riding the 9'2" or 9'6"? Is it also red construction? Planning to buy one soon. Looks so fun!
9'2
@@harleyingleby I picked up the 9'6" and it's great!
Nice board! We still love our HI4 and HIHP 😎👍
Harley we need more videos of the minis and Twin. Keep them coming mine are set to arrive this week and I’m getting hyped!
Wow
Where can i buy one of those in San Diego?
hey mate shoot matt an email. matt@subtotaldistribution.com or call Birds Surf Shed and Surf Ride..
Want this board so bad and this footage makes it even more drool worthy. When do the '24/'25 models come out?
Where are you mate? 24/25 there no plan to update the HI4! There's just new colours we have just released.
@@harleyingleby I am on the east coast in Ocean City, MD...close to Delaware beaches and not far from New Jersey beaches as well. I figured it wasn't changing much but having trouble locating a 9'3' within a reasonable distance in the new color ways, or even a leftover to be honest. Is there somewhere I can find a list of resellers by state?
@@stevenzych2105 K-Coast would be your nearest retailer but hit up Matt our new sales legend to find the stock! matt@subtotaldistribution.com Matt and I will be doing a sales tour down through there early Sept actually..
I bought my 8’ MOE from K-Coast, but they don’t seem to have any 9’3” HI4s in stock. I’ll shoot Matt a note. Will you guys be hauling any stock or demos through town with you in September? You’ll be in town at what’s usually the best time of year, water is still warm and hurricane swells start to roll through!
@@stevenzych2105 They may not but may be able get one there right now but order one through them in the next shipment? Contact Matt and he'll be able to say what's best. I'll just have a few personal boards with me but I doubt we'll have time to be stopping for too long to do demo days etc unfortunately.
That first wave tho! Bottom line that's some beautiful surfing, too much to list, such great effortless flow.
Love my HI4. Great vid and tunes!
Heck yeah
Looks amazing @harleyingleby, what would be a good fin for a 100kg bloke on a HI4 9'3?
10' Connect of 9.5' Flow
Nice. What single fin and size would you recommend for a 130 lb guy on a 9'4 DD?
maybe just a 9' connect FCS
@@harleyingleby update: Got an 8" connect and pushed it all the way forwards. So much easier to flick around and it's so flowy! Also, how do you deal with an extension grip and GoPro while paddling?
What fin?
10" Whip by FCS.. A 9'1 Connect might be enough also..
Yeah Harley
Just got this Board, I normaly use the 9'1 HIHP just surfed for around 2 years, any tips on transitioning to it?
Mate should be a pretty easy twin to adapt too! They feel incredibly loose but will hold in if you push hard. enjoy!
In my mind I surf just like that too... but in reality probably not so much.
i have one for 3 weeks ago. very good board, i test it in middle and overhead size, incredible speed and grip in quad xl, you could cut the line with big sheaves
the 6'8 mid6 (1ltr less then 7'0).. where's the 6'6 mid 6.???
I think the 7'0 is a lil bigger than that. probably closer to 42 in actuality.
What fin set up?
My fcs XL tri set
Dude blowing up on that FRK🤯
Always a pleasure watching you rip hipro longboard🔥
this thing looks so sickkk, how's it in the barrel?
QUADs all day!!! Love my hi4 9’3 however looking forward to getting the slimed down version!
🙌🏽🔥🔥
So this boards looks like so much fun. What is a better fit for head high or less surf, the mini moe 6'6 or the mid 6 twin. I'm looking for speed , fun and as loose as possible. Both look sick just trying to dial in for my needs. thx
They both do tiny to head high plus faces super well! If you like the twin fin freeness and effortless speed go that way. The Moe is probably a better all rounder and easier to surf if you're coming off regular thrusters or quads in other boards.
@harleyingleby is there a reason the 6'8 Mid 6 has 39L? I bought a 7' Mid 6(TBC)....love it....have now got the 6'4 mini(TBR thought that would be better for typical Syd surf), only had 1 surf on so far...but feels like a winner too. Holding the 6'8 just felt like a tad too much volume for that size, cinsidering the 7'0 is 40L and the 6'4 36L....shave a litre off the 6'8 and I'd probably get that too...perfect Indo quiver
6'8 feels quite a bit less volume in the water than the 7'0. I actually think the volume of the 7'0 is closer to 42L. I'm absolutely loving the 6'8 as my step up but the 7'0 does that really well also! You won't miss if you go either way.
Yeah righto, having just got both the 6'4 and the 7'0, they might be all that I need, the 6'8 might have to wait till next year's trip....feeling a bit skint😂....what ever you do, don't increase the volume for any of them, they are just about perfect for my age, weight/height(54 & 82kg....give or take😅)
my thoughts also. my issue is that I and a lot of other guys are sitting on around 72-75kg (fit) and a 6'6 would have been sweet.. ill still grab the 6'8 and give it spin as i feel the 6'4 will loose that mid length feel
audio is left channel only X(

same as all my TB Carbon 9'1.. 💪🏼
I just bought a Tolhurst HIHP Speed in the Carbon Fibre Black finish in Thunderbolt Black and surfed it for the first time yesterday. If Darth Vader surfed, this would be his board! I have had just one session in fun, pretty soft, waist to chest high waves, slightly smaller than this video. I used Harley’s Longboard Thruster XL fins same as this video, and set the centre fin position exactly as recommended. Initial impressions based on one session only. Overall it’s an incredible board. And the thruster set-up absolutely rips for a longboard. You don’t have to be able to surf as well as Harley to really have lots of fun on this board. The highlights of this board are a) outright speed and acceleration, it’s a lot faster than regular 2+1 longboards, you also can generate more speed on the wave face, by pumping it a little like a big shortboard, further maximizing its speed potential b) light and agile, very maneuverable, a great carving board, suitable for big high speed power carves or tight cutbacks c) when you put in a good cutback you throw serious spray compared to a regular 2+1 set up longboard d) I got to the front to do some cheater 5’s which felt comfortable (I am 54 years, 93kg/185cm/205lb/6’1 - about 5kg/10lb heavier than Harley Ingleby, surfing for 10 years). So I LOVED this board with the thruster set up. And are super excited about getting out again. I also tried the Quad Fin set up. Frankly I struggled a bit with the Quad set up in these conditions. However I understand the quads suit bigger, head high plus surf, and hollower waves. So I’ll be very keen to test that set up in bigger conditions. In terms of padding, it doesn’t paddle as easily as my other bigger boards - 8’6 and 10ft Walden Magic Models. However it is lower litre-age and higher rocker than those boards. And despite this it seemed to catch waves quite well, which is the main thing. So a little weird, but it caught waves better than it felt like it paddled! In summary very stoked and excited to own this board. It was actually a great funboard in fun wave conditions. And of course it has some serious upper end performance potential when the big waves arrive. This is my second Harley Ingleby board. My other is a 7’10 Mid6 in Thunderbolt Red. It is also an outstanding board and the reason why I bought the HIHP Speed. Shout out to Harley Ingleby, Billy Tolhurst, and the Thunderbolt team! 🤙🏄🌊 PS - The Carbon Fibre finish looks so pro-level. It put some serious pressure on me to deliver the goods in the line-up!😂😂😂
Stoked mate.. Where'd you pick it up from?

This is awesome
Kia ora Harley, recently picked up a 7'2 moe which has been unreal fun, have been taking it out in anything, most recently Raglan which showed me airdrops are not part of the parcel lol - atleast for my skill level. 30yrs shortboarding and 180cm/78ish kg I'm pretty sure the 6'10 moe would suit me better - still amazing wave catching but just a bit easier to throw around - so that's part of the plan. Otherwise I want to get something for the juice and keen to hear how suited the smaller mid6 sizes are to larger surf - say 2-3x overhead? Being shorter they seem to have more curve and correct me if I'm wrong but are the tails slightly wider? Cheers!
Is there any footage from your Fiji trip? Sounds like it was bombing!
Hey mate, 6'10 Moe is great! if you 2-3x overhead I'd suggest the 6'8 or 7'0 Mid6.. They're pretty narrow in comparison the for Moe. It's not until the 6'4 MId6 mini that the plan shape gets a little wider and curvier looking. the 6'8 is quite pulled in looking.
@@harleyingleby Cheers for that makes perfect sense, can't wait till the new sizes arrive - meanwhile I'll keep frothing out on the moe! It's cool that you respond to everyone's questions by the way

These look sick!! Harley, if you had to make a two-board quiver to cover a variety of waves out of moes/moe minis/mid6s/mid 6 minis, what boards/sizes would you pick? Also, how bout for a one board quiver?
One board quiver I'd probably go the 7'0 MId6. Two boards 6'4 Mid6 and 6'10 Moe.
@@harleyinglebywhat construction (ref or black) would you choose for the mid 6 as a one board quiver ?
Just depends on how you want it to feel and what you want to ride it in. If generally under double overhead Red is fine! @@dismol9707
@@harleyingleby thanks man ! mainly good breaks, a lot of points, never more than 8/10 foot.
