Hello Everyone, This is a video of how i setup a custom led lighting for the Ikea Billy bookcases. i like mine overall. the shutdown popup was really an annoyance until i figured out how to avoid it. as for settings, i have mine on the default green power setting. strangely this one give better brightness over the vivid option. i have the adaptive sybc turned on for the higher refresh rate but have changed much on settings. games and movies are all i do. i havent really seen any burn in. or at least havent noticed any. as for good decision, depends on what you paid. if you paid the full 1499 then no, i would return it and go with the lg c series or the asus version for that price. if you got it 700 or less, then i would say you should be happy with it. overall, i enjoy it and dont have regrets

      you can use everything i did. youbwould just need to add power supplies to accommodate the extra wattage. i do not recall off hand what each strand of light uses. i know its mentioned on the amazon site. just multiple that by how many strands and you will be able to see how many power supplies you will need. you dont want to max out the supplies to prevent it from overheating and catching fire

    This is great and exactly the type of wiring I was looking for!! I have some questions though. I'm trying a similar approach, but instead of using white LEDs, I'm using RGB. I have a 12v 5-meter strip that I will cut into 10 smaller strips and put them into 10 shelves, will any led lights become dimmer? I will run them in parallel, that's my only concern is that the LEDs will become dimmer.

    • @thatscooltech
      @thatscooltech ปีที่แล้ว

      depends on how much voltage each strip needs and the power supply you use. as long as the entire strip combined is less than your power strip max voltage, then it will be at full lighting. The led strip you buy should say how much wattage is needed per foot.

      it has happened during usage, but I had been using it for quite some time. I do not know what the timer is set on, but it will appear while in use if it does not get a "proper" shutdown for the protection mode to start. I can't say when the last time it popped up during use, meaning it's been a while. I do get it occasionally when i turn it on, but i just exit the error from the remote and go on my way.

    • @thatscooltech
      @thatscooltech ปีที่แล้ว

      @@60Seconds_60 Hey there, if it wasn't for the fact that I got mine super cheap and had to pay the full 1499. I would have opted for the Asus PG48UQ. better specs and has G-Sync. It's still an OLED and will have the dimming effect but I can't say to what effect as I have not tried one myself. As for the distance I sit from it. I am not quite 1 meter; I'm just shy at .75 meters (30inch) and it doesn't bother me at all this distance. As for explaining, if you are referring to the warning, its due to the timer for powering it off. Essentially, if you do not power down the monitor (press the power button on remote) it will just go to standby and not run its screen protection. After a couple of days I got in the habit of turning it off and don't get the error now.

However, once you get use to the turning off process that I mention and understand the work around to prevent the screen diming its great. In fact, Newegg has it for $799 as of this comment

Then turn it counterclockwise and there you go. Also there’s a lot of other cool stuff. Also I’m currently using this case right now and I have a 10 fans in this case. I’m running a push and pull set up which is 6 fans on top where the radiator is. Which requires to flip your front psu so the power cord clears the radiator. I’m running a 5950x and a 3080 ti strix. With push and pull 360 aio.

      he says he is using an AIO cooler which takes much less space on the cpu then mine, so it is possible. Adjusting the psu orientation would take care of the tubing clearance. Ram size would need to be taken into account as well. So it can be done depending on hardware choices. This case is pretty versatile.

      Yes, it will fit, and you will be fine. If you are doing water cooled, you will need to plan out your loop differently than mine. If you are going air cooled though, you may want to go with the Corsair 4000 airflow. It's cheaper and will give you more room as the case is slightly longer. The main reason I went with this case was it allows the 2 360 rads for water cool which the corsair wouldn't.

    Just an update of something I figured out on this monitor. I am sure some of you have already seen the screen darkening effect when reading an article or typing something in word. Then you do something, and the screen brightens again. Well, here is a little trick that has solved this for me as long as I am not doing something in full screen. Let's say you have two windows open (browser and Word) side by side but not taking up 50% of the screen each as you can still see the desktop. If you want, you can setup your desktop background to be a slideshow at 1 min intervals and this will keep refreshing the screen as long as the images are different images. Sounds kind of dumb but it seems to work.

The higher gbps allow for things like uncompressed data and even higher refresh rates. No console can do more then the 4k 120 to my knowledge. A PC can but most would be using display port at that point.

    • @thatscooltech
      @thatscooltech ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it didn't make a difference. At least nothing noticeable. The issue is the bottom fans are still to close to the gpu, to really help. However, I am going to be building a new system for someone with the same hardware. The difference will be that. No standalone reservoir will be used. As ek has an all in one block for the lga1700 that just came out. This setup should improve thermals a lot since it's going to allow the gpu to be verticle. This will allow for a full size radiator and full size propper fans to be placed at the bottom. I will be doing a build video on this one and showing Temps and fps, etc. I am expecting to see a lower temp over all

    Welcome everyone. Just a followup to my video. I have been using the watch since it was released and I am very happy with it. The battery life which is probably the biggest question people have. Well the battery has been lasting with my usage about 4 days before i need to charge. I use it for everyday tasks such as notifications of emails, texts, security camera and doorbell notifications. I am not a heavy user meaning, I am not spending hours at a gym or exercising with the watch tracking me the entire time. Which I am sure helps a lot in my 4 day battery life. I have removed a lot of unneccesary apps from the watch and customized it to my liking. I do have the always on display with one of Samsungs simple watch faces loaded. It regularly tracks my heart rate and I use Google Wallet with it numerous times a day. One feature that I am really enjoying is the sleep monitoring feature. I never though I would use this but find myself using it and looking at my statistics everyday. I see that I am getting about 70 - 80 % sleep, and I do unfortunatly snore 30 minutes each night it seems. Sorry ladies, ear plugs will be required :( As stated in my video, the new 5 models do not have the rotating bezel and after using this one for a week. I stand by my comment of it being a terrible decision by Samsung to remove it. The touch bezel is cumbersome to me. I ended up just swiping left and right as its faster and easier to me to navigate. Keep in mind, I do have large hand which doesn't help the situation. Overall, the watch is great. If you were on the fence about buying one, don't be. You will enjoy using it as much as I do. I find myself looking at my watch more then pulling out my phone to see or respond to notifications as you can create your own customized responses. I hope this follow up information was helpful.
