Massey Furguson 135 Rescue Revival Restoration - Part 1
มุมมอง 844 ปีที่แล้ว
Saved this 1967 Massey Furguson 135. It's the 3 Cylinder 2.5 litre Perkins engine. It had been sat for 11 years and not once run since then. The fella who owned the tractor passed away, and his son was happy to part with it. It was originally bought by West Burton Power Station, only used for light gardening work. It therfore is an industrial model with different brakes and would have originall...

Spa Francorchamps - Track Day - Civic Type R FN2 - 02/04/19
มุมมอง 8354 ปีที่แล้ว
A session from last year. I never really uploaded much of the track driving from our trip. So here is the first time out after it started to rain. The car felt all over the place; I later had a spin which is in a video I uploaded last year. After that I firmed up the front dampers and lowered the rear tyre pressures to induce some understeer. Certainly kept me on my toes!
Lister D Engine Running - Alternator Generator
มุมมอง 2.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Other than a quick test run to see the belt stays on and tight, this is the first time electrically testing the alternator output. Had camera trouble and didn't save all what it recorded? The video cuts off at the end instead of the engine running down to stop. Had it running a hair dryer on low heat. That maxed out the invertor at 500w, borderline cutting it off if the voltage dropped too low....

Second time getting the Lister going after putting things back together. Got a few clips of it coming together but not really enough to make it worth it. Just enjoy us fiddling with it, seeing and hearing it run. Next Job is to build a load for it. I'm thinking an alternator to a battery and a 500w mains invertor. 1953 Lister DH 1.5 hp @ 700rpm 11.2 lb-ft @ 700rpm 350cc - 3" x 3" Bore & Stroke ...

Lister D Engine - Strip Down
มุมมอง 13K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Decided to take over from Dad and restore this engine once again. It was restored once 15 years ago. It's in good shape still, just needs some TLC. This is just taking the engine apart. The next video will be just reassembly. Maybe split into two video depending on length. I intend on having it run an alternator running a 500w 240v invertor. Not sure what to have that powering yet. Suggestions?
Blyton Park - Track Day - Honda Civic Type R vs Renault Clio Sport 197
มุมมอง 1.8K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Second track day with Mazda on track. My last run of the day. Turns out it is the event organiser in the Clio. Sorry, I forgot you name! I was fighting worn Pilot Sport tyres all day, they were not getting any better. I might have been able to make ground on the Clio, when the tyres were at their peak. Clio was on nearly 200000 miles and down on a little power. Apart from a lighter aftermarket ...

Nice work but its 2.5 L ??
3.2L early 250HP engine
I have an 86 MR2 and I'm greatful you turned your GoPros on 5 years ago to record you changing your oil. Helped me learn how to change mine. Thanks
Beating on the fly wheel not good practice you can damage bearings !
Thanks for taking the time to up this
I liked the curves on the blue machine
Good work ❤
Rest In Peace Trev.. Can't wait until I'm riding by your side again. Love ya my Bro 🏍
On which day was this recorded, nice lap btw :)
This was recorded on 18/07/23 around 7PM. I'll be there in my FN2 next year. It is getting some more mods to make it more reliable on track!
Wasn't it reliable? Did you have any issues? @@thesillyhatday
It was all good. Very much enjoyed the car. Even the cheapest Porsche has a great balance and sound. Tyres wore perfectly even on stock suspension, Porsche knew what they were doing. My Civic is much more setup for the track with a bunch of handling mods. I know the car better and can lean on it harder. I might not be as fast, but it's all about the fun anyway.@@lifenitz
nice one
Better off the flywheel. More rpm on the alternator, making it run much cooler.
I have a 7292m. Looks good but the display is really dark and I can figure out how to make it bright. did you have to wire the dimmer wire a certain way?
Nice to see you got the Lister up and running. Had one of these way back when as a young nipper. My dad got tired of me hanging around in the garage asking questions, so we bought an old Lister for a fiver at a local junk yard. With his help I did it up and got it running, then sold it for £15 😊. I can remember down on my granddad’s farm they had another stationary engine which drove a circular saw used for cutting up firewood… those were the days…
Wearing a baseball cap on backwards in a pub was illegal in 1997 and still is now.
Good recovery Mav !!
That engine needs about a 8-10” pulley on it to spin that alternator fast enough, it’s going to overheat at that slow rpm and not generate much power.

sick geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez
Those awesome little Fabias have both a turbo and a supercharger! Absolutely insane haha. Nice driving from both of you there :D
Shit, think I was 15 when this came out, 41 now 🤦♂️😂
Flat tire.
Never let a Lister D idle too slow because it will starve the big end of oil.
Lister d engine 💪👍
I have a car stereo same like that but i can not use because of security code can you help me according to that code thank you
Whats better handling fn2 or clio
Stock, the Clio is more fun, Civic is quicker with understeer bias. Suspension setup and tyres, Clio is super playful, Civic feels serious and stable. When Civic breaks loose it feels like a knife edge compared to the Clio. Both well matched on small tracks. Clio faster on tight turns, Civic faster on high speed turns. Clio brakes are miles better, though not fair comparison as the Clio is smaller and stripped out. About 350 to 400kg weight difference.
Superb!! Thanks for uploading a classic!!!
Number 8 with extra cheese
Man I really want a aw11 to take to school and back😁
Thanks for the upload, has this on VHS years ago :)
What tyres were you on for this? Looks good fun
Michelin Pilot Sport 4 :)
A set of Whitworth spanners saves messing about with metric and AF that generally don't quite fit.
4.13 lol did he lose his arm/hand !?
Badly scuffed knuckles. Hospital job
2 things here. There’s homeless people with better shoes. Secondly that’s a 200 clio not a 197
I'm homeless 🤣
I call that a massive fail.
Nice video, but that’s a clio 200 not a 197
Didn't even know there was such a thing 👍
Any mods mate?
This is so amazing!! Me and my brother were obsessed with this video! Berry was brilliant on it! Thanks for uploading!!
Marshalls not doing their jobs as usual. Pisses me right off
Not half. When they said they dont use blue flags it confused me.
@@thesillyhatday bain of my life, being faster everywhere but some bellend with all the gear, no idea wont move aside because he thinks he'll drag race you down the straight.
I realise I'm 2 years late, but what mods were you running at this time ? Was it just the Tegiwa single exit cat back ?
Great drive bud, i also have an Fn2 61 plate, what mods do you have?
Hey, not sure why I missed this comment. @@thesillyhatday It's cool man, that's an awesome list of mods. the only mods i have are the skunk2 shifter and an ecutek remap haha. does the job for me as its only a daily.
@@cameronbrown3380 My daily too! I want an ECU tune. Want a manifold first before that. Mods a bit longer since then
@@thesillyhatday oh do you still have it? I thought you didn't from the comment. Surprised you don't have a tune, I bought the marlin ecutek map off tdi North. Awesome upgrade, definately what these cars need, gives you some usuable mid range and a higher rpm limiter, also some goodies like advanced traction control and flat foot shifting.
Baffled sump ?
I had this on vhs and completely wore it out, thank you so much for uploading it 👍
I had this on video as a teenager, been trying to find it for years. Cheers for uploading it 👍🏼
Been looking for this on yt your ages, anyone know the intro song after the adverts, it’s not the one credited in the description😂😂😂
By any chance, it might be: The Strain - Man of the moment. Believe me it took some finding. Good luck finding it anywhere
@@thesillyhatday it's on Spotify 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Whoops at the end. But great chase though. I drove the Blyton circuit years ago trying to get a drive with Autowindscreens Formula First team..... Great fun, but I was a couple of seconds off the pace!
I love a wet track. Great driving!
Much appreciated, thanks. Back there at end of March again
@@thesillyhatday Lucky guy - have fun! And please put another video up. I'm in press of getting another car as my Alfa is likely to be written off after someone drove into me last week. Honda fn2 is top of my list.
@@PedroskiClimb Well the last year was a bust, we never made it. Ahh well! You get an FN2? It's not a great track car lol
@@thesillyhatday last year was definitely a bust! Yep, I got an FN2. 59 plate, and previous owner already fitted Yellowspeed Racing BBK and coilovers, and I've since switched to lightweight 17 inch wheels instead of the heavy 18 inch lumps. Really pleased with it, and I think with the sensible mods that have been done it should be pretty decent on track.
@@PedroskiClimb They aren't bad on track, you just feel the weight and fight understeer. I'd like to try 17 inch wheels, mine came with 19s, awful. The brake kit is a must. I'm tiered of constantly cooking brakes on track days. I even cracked a disc on one really hard day. Right from the outer edge to the centre!
I read the right filter is the longer one ending in J2. As the other one from Toyota states it’s not for the use on the 4age.
I got my first engine today and mines doing the same as yours keeps trying to stop I have got it a bit better but it keeps popping and a bit of smoke but when you put Weight on the flywheel it gets better have you sorted yours out have you any tips please
It stopped at the end as it had run out of fuel. Choke it out and you can suck enough fuel through to get it running again. Might have to do a basic starting trouble shooting on it in the next video. I find they are most sensitive to fuelling. Make sure your 'jet' is clear of crap and that your fuel screw will wind all the way in. See your float bowl is keeping a nice level inside while its running. If fuel is dripping out the intake your jet isn't seating right with the adjuster and not atomising the fuel properly while running. If that's in good order, make sure you only use 3/4 turn to start and about 1/2 to 3/4 for running when it's warmed up. If that's alright, then see the spark timing is somewhere between 20 - 5 degrees before TDC. Make sure that spark is consistent and strong. Clean up you points in the magneto well. To do a good job they need to come out and be refitted. Oh smoke means too much fuel
Sillyhatday thanks for the reply I’ll have to go through what you have suggested we’ll try anyway I can do somethings not to keen on talking the carb apart in case I mess it up I think it’s something to do with the air valve thing
Something could be stuck in the fuel line or the float could be stuck
