Installing a battle aero widebody on my 2006 Pontiac GTO!
มุมมอง 20K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I’ve wanted a widebody v8 for awhile and when the battle aero kit was announced for the 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO’s I knew I had to get one! The kit is 3D scanned, printed, molded and then produced in fiberglass to ensure fitment. The only complaint I have is the hardware that comes with it. This kit is meant for drift cars so it has self tappers which make sense but you’ll see in the video that I ...

Hey everyone! In this video I will be showing you how to remove your B-pillar trim and the tricky way to reinstall it! I also figured I would also leave a write up in the description as well! 1. look wild mate
When parked it will heat up more. As high as 230
You can do this in less than an hour. Very easy job.
Because pontiacs are the best looking car
Love your setup.❤❤ i own a 05 quick silver all stock. Besides crappy wheels, muffler tip, air filter intake, 2row aluminum radiator, lingenfelter fuel pump. And Spyder chrome head lights.
Sounds like a good start! I know once you start modifying a car, you’re never really finished lol. Keep it up!
@spiceredgto9338 im on that path sir. But I also own a 92 firebird. So I'm juggling back and forth with them. I kinda want to keep the gto stock. And the firebird fully modified since it is a lighter chassis. But not sure yet.
@@geovannimonge8397 that sounds like a better idea honestly!
Did this on my 04. Had the engine out which made it slightly easier. But still a nightmare! Still a good upgrade with tilton slave cylinder. Made a vid on it too. Glad to see more content on it!
Where did you get the wide body kit?😍
Battle aero! They have 3 different versions now!!
Hi my name is Paul I own a 2004 GTO and I'm from Ohio Just wanted to say yours is looking great
Hi Paul! There is a pretty big Holden meet that happens in Indianapolis every year, it’s called outback in the Midwest on Facebook if you’re interested. I’ll be there this year!
Thanks for making this video man helped me a lot with mine!
Glad I could help!
Hey man, picked up an 06 2 weeks ago. Just adjusted the 10mm last night and it worked, but today it seems to roll back even while tight. Should I just adjust the shoes or plan on getting new shoes and adjusting the rear ? T Thanks so much for your time! Great video.
Also, are the break shoes sold as a pair or single on rock auto ! Thanks
Hey man! I would pick this up as a just in case: a.co/d/1luJaXE This comes with everything including the spring and bracket in case yours are messed up! If you replace everything and re tighten the handbrake and it still rolls back then you might need new cables. I had to adjust mine A LOT before I was happy with it. Hope this helps!
@@spiceredgto9338 hey, thanks for the quick response ! Maybe I’ll cancel my order with rock and go with the Amazon kit. Seems it’s all inclusive. I must have tightened my 10mm a lot as it went from engaging at the very top of the e brake ‘throw’ to now at like 5 clicks. My only thought now is to start with the shoes and then do the cable last if it’s just the only thing left to do… ? Thanks a lot for your guidance thus far man. Cheers
beautiful car man love pontiac
Thank you!
nice work
Thank you!
Thanks for this. I've just ordered a pair along with some trunk struts too for my Monaro across the pond in the UK
Glad I could help!
You butchered that poor car. It looks hideous.
Thanks for your opinion! When you buy a car, you can do whatever you want to it!
Hey bro I own the 06 that was on bags
That thing is nasty!!!
Hey man, absolutely amazing GTO! I just got my LSA charger drivable on mine, and looking for wheels to do the brembo upgrade. Where did you get those wheels from they look great!?
Got them directly from the VMR website! There is a great page for all the wheels that will fit the big brembos and I know only a handful will without some modification but almost all 19” wheels will! Let me see if I can’t find the page!
Thank you dor this vid my gro is leaking fluid not sure where it is car only has 69k on it 😢 i diguer it must bethis piece ..any suggestions thx again
Try checking the rear main seal!
Wow. Looks horrible.
Thanks for the comment 🤣
been waiting for my favorite youtuber to post another video, todays a blessed day :)
You should’ve got the Mustang ones. I have them on my Gto. They’re positioned much better than on that plate.
Where did you pick them up from?
Man i wish I had had this video when I did mine 4 years ago lol. @goatem_gto
It was kind of a pain wasn’t it?! Lol
@spiceredgto9338 oh it absolutely was. Especially the aerobics i had to do as a fat man upside-down in the drivers seat to do all the small work. Lmao.
I am working on this as week speak and I’m irritated of it all, and I haven’t seen a good video of the install, I was thinking about doing one myself, as we speak I am messing with the aluminum bracket and I also am a big human, this is a pain in the ass all the way around
@@MrJwilliams124 you and me both brother, hopefully this video helps!
Does this help with shifting through gears compared to the Stock set up? Mine always feels grindy like as if the slave cylinder isn’t pushing the pressure plate enough. I replaced the Slave Cylinder and I put the quick bleed line so you can bleed it a lot easier
what type of nose is on your GTO I have a 2004 GTO and my nose doesn't have the cut outs like yours I live in Ohio and mine is Imperial Blue Metallic
Sorry for the late reply, I have sap grills and a sap lower fascia. I cut the bars out of the fascia and the grill didn’t come with any. I hope this helps!
Song name?
Perfect by simple plan!
Thank!
Do you get any vibrations from the CTSV rear brakes?
I don’t actually, I used some locking washers and torqued everything down to spec and it’s been great!
You have the same taste as me. Saving up to wrap my gto metallic pearl white. The wide body kit I like if only it was flush with the body/screw holes filled in and panels smooth to the body.
I wanted white so bad until I wrapped it then it looked like regular traffic…. It was amazing by itself or in a group of GTO’s but daily driving it made me come to not love it. As for the wide body, I’ve always been more of a fan of seeing the hardware. I want anyone to be able to look at the car and tell there is a wide body. Plus all the body smoothing would eventually crack and look terrible since I do daily this. I hope you go through with the wrap and you love it more than I did!
5:00 for when I pull the motor. Look at the engine mount aluminum bracket.
To me: It's a heat shield for the fuel lines so it's most likely going to be bent so disregard it.
Trans cooler plugs are 18mmx1.25
Thank you for the info!
You got this brother have a little faith!!!!!
What wheels are those
They are VMR V710’s
@@spiceredgto9338 what are your wheel specs? currently going with the V2 version of the battle aero kit, but have been running a squared set up with 19x10+40 deep concave, Machined 3SDMs on my car for about 7+ years. nice poke with stretched 245s front and rear with spacers up front to clear my CTS-V 6 pistons and 15mm spacer out back for aesthetics. thinking of going 3 piece with the V2 wide body , but really want to run 19s vs 18s.
@@DaDeCodeIsTruth they are 19x10 et25 and 19x11 et25
What color is the black on your trunk ? I’m wrapping mines today not sure what specific black though
Sorry for the late reply, it’s actually plastidip with glossifier. Hope this helps!
Beautiful goat. Really like the color
Clean
That's nice and snug 😂😂
Thanks for sharing this very informative and detailed video. Exactly the type I love to watch and learn more about our cars … I’m planning on doing the shoes soon and was curious about the adjustment aswell. Thanks for sharing both in the video very much appreciated. Looking forward to future content and that’s a mean looking GTO you got . Very nice!!!
Glad I could help!
Factory headlights?
Sure are!
You didn't show anything 😒
What do you mean? What more could I have shown?
@@spiceredgto9338 I am doing the same thing but the belt itself seems to be too short by a 1/2-1 inch. I cant get it over the pully or whatever the last pully you try to slip it over (I have tried it every way possible). Only thing I can see is getting a longer belt 1/2 -1 longer. It just will not fit. That's the part I think the guy is talking about. This GTO has not had an AC since I bought it so this is a new install all new parts.
@@bobd1806 you might need to get a longer breaker bar, if you bought the gates belt by number like shown in the video or oem replacement belts then it has to work.
Thank you for putting this together. Last time I did this install on my track car was 2011. Doing this on a customer car this month and needed my memory jogged!
No problem, glad I could help!
Thank you for having the sizes
No problem, glad I could help!
what type of tail lights you running oh yeah my name is Paul I own a 2004 GTO and live in Ohio
Hey Paul, nice to meet you! These are the VX tail lights from the holdens in Australia, then I sent them to a guy to make them blood red. We have a pretty big car show in Indianapolis this year in September and it would be awesome if you could attend!
I know this is 2 years later, but by any chance you know the size of the plugs for the trans cooler? Just picked up a mishimoto radiator and have a manual.
I was wondering the same I have a manual too but if I have to order two plus then dang I haven’t looked at mine but I definitely wanna know
Any updates?
Nope. Was gonna install it but now gonna wait. Doing a bunch of other mods at the same time. Waiting for parts
@@49breal I do t have mods. Indecisive on going back stock or mishimoto
@@mikeprice8307 I'm on my second stock one. Old one crapped out back in 08 or 09. Want to make it a track car. So upgrading everything
What size torque Star bit did you use? Thank you so much.
It is a T30, sorry for the late reply!
@@spiceredgto9338 yes 👍 Thank You So Much. I had a T30. & got the back & front struts done in minutes 😋. What a difference it makes. Very nice. Thank you again. I really appreciate it. Cheers 🍻
Did you wrap it or paint? Looks amazing btw
Thank you! I wrapped it satin Pearl white but I’m changing it up this year!
Solid advice bro just bought 04 per weekend I’m trying to upgrade/preventative maintenance since I did buy it with 125,000 miles
Welcome to the gto community!
Also have an 06 spice red m6 Gto but only 50k miles 😈
I wish mine had that few! I purchased mine with 80 something thousand but have loved the car ever since!
Yep I have a spice red with 48k. Had it for 15yrs
i just want the spoiler
Rk sports 3 piece spoiler!
Im thinking of buying a stick shift 05 with 70k miles what should I look for when inspecting it and how do u maintain it
If the price is right, there is nothing that can’t be fixed! I’d recommend checking the fluids like the brake, clutch and power steering to have a good sense if one of them is leaking. When driving, listen for thuds or grinding coming from the back. The rear differential fluid needs changed around 70k miles. Other than that, you should be all set!
@@spiceredgto9338 thanks bro
Talk to much
Thanks for the feedback!
What front bumper is that?
Sorry for the late reply, it’s a factory front bumper with the sap fascia!
Great car i love it
A simple, but necessary fix. I had to swap the old 2004 GTO props it had with some decent "off brand" struts that worked great. Just make sure that it has a bit of grease where the strut connects to the hood.
Very important for sure! Thank you for watching!
