First Time This Happened Furniture Flip
I've experienced bleed-through with furniture flips before. But never like this! Coat after coat of primer just didn't seem to fix it. I was worried! Watch to see what turned out to be a simple solution. AND see how cute this cabinet is now!

Not Doing This Again Furniture Flip

Heavy and large, this dresser proved to be a challenge for little ol' me. Moving it from here to there, I risked bodily harm (and did bang my shin pretty bad), but I did know what makeover to give it. Watch until the end, then tell me what you think of this furniture flip!
Antique Table Becomes Bar Cart Furniture Flip

This antique table was one of the last things left at an estate sale, so I willing bought it for $20. But what to do with it? And then it dawned on me! Watch until the end to see how I makeover this relic, giving it a new life to live.
Daring Color Choice Furniture Flip

I didn't want anything flashy with this dresser makeover, so chose a subtle, muted color. I stand by my choice 100%, but will it appeal to potential buyers? Watch until the end of this furniture flip and let me know what you think!
Fast Sale Furniture Flip

I used this William Morris style transfer twice before, and each piece sold within a day. So, I have no doubt that this dresser makeover will have the same results. Oh, the cuteness of this furniture flip! Watch until the end!
Stripped to Bare Wood But Then Painted Furniture Flip

This antique washstand looked so cute when I bought it, but I soon uncovered poor workmanship, and less than stellar wood. It made sense to transform this the way I did. No regrets with this furniture makeover!
Vintage Bench Undergoes Risky Furniture Flip

This furniture flip made me more nervous than any makeover I've ever done. My plan was questionable, and I had a moment when I thought I had ruined the piece. But it turned out okay! What do you think?
Small Cabinet Gets BIG Flip!

It might be small and cheap, but this cabinet was perfect for the furniture flip I had in mind. As a DIY person who does a lot of makeovers, I accumulate a ton of supplies. So, this little piece gave me an opportunity to put them to use. And it turned out even better than I expected! Be sure to watch until the end!

Vintage Dresser Gets a WOW Furniture Flip

Someone already did a furniture flip on this old dresser and did a nice job, even adding some fun drawer pulls. So this was cute as is. But I had ideas to give it a makeover from perfectly fine to absolutely divine! Watch until the end to see how.

Bright Makeover from Dark and Dated

This piece was well put together but without an ounce of wood on it. See how I banish the dark red to the past, and let this piece find the light.
Controversial Personal Project Flip

I've had this room divider for at least 20 years, and it no longer works with my decor. But to give it a makeover meant making a tough choice. (To anyone interested in my digital designs, go to www.patternlore.com/)

I Broke My #1 Rule on This Furniture Flip!
Do you ever just remove the existing stain or paint and just sand and use a different stain to show natural wood?
I like to do that with the top, if I can. Or I'll use a beige paint wash that shows the grain. But only rarely do I re-stain the whole piece. (Those don't sell well in my area.)
Tracy, I've only seen you once before, but I was impressed with your practical manner of working! I like today's project!
Thank you for saying so!
Congratulations! It is a new piece again!🌷🌷
Thanks so much!
Absolutely stunning!!
Thanks so much!!!
You make the prettiest furniture, that turned out lovely 🤍
Thank you for saying that!
I absolutely LOVE your videos and restorations! But how you do your stencils and decals is absolutely A-mazing!! Nice work!!♥️
Thank you, Nancy!
Wow, stunning! You are the queen of stenciling. Came out flawless. Can you tell me what kind of stencil brush you used and where I can get one? Thanks! :)
Thanks!!! The brush I use I've had for 30 years! Shop for a brush where the bristles are very dense and the surface of the brush is flat. You may need to try a few before you find one your like. But the main thing with stenciling is to use a teeny bit of paint then off load the paint. Your brush will be almost dry. Too dry is better than too wet. Use a pouncing motion. Go back over an area if you need to build up the color. Be patient!
Love love love absolutely fabulous transformation!!!
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous. Loved watching you transform this piece. Linda Beals.
Thanks much, Linda!
It was basic and Utilitarian and You Transformed it into a Beautiful well balanced piece. It's both Masculine and Feminine. There's Art Nouveau and Folk Art influences. And the Blue is the Perfect Color! Great Job!
Thank you!!!
Lovely! I'm sorry you had such trouble with bleed through! The blue was a beautiful color that covered very well, and the stencils turned out gorgeous!
There's always some challenge to overcome with flipping! Thank you!
Stunning!
Thanks!!!
Oh my goodness. I love it. It's so beautiful
Thanks so much!
Very nice!
Thank you again, Sunny!
I never liked the citrus strip. Don’t feel it works well. The “Circa 1825” gives much better results.
Citris Strip is not that great, for sure! I'm almost always working indoors, though, so can't use the strong stuff. I've heard good things about Circa 1825, but haven't been able to find it.
Very nice. The terra cotta color was such a surprise!
It kinda surprised me, too! Thanks!
This is the best flip I have seen you do! Amazing and gorgeous!!!
Thank you, Jamie!
You did a great job with that !! LOVE the stenciling! Magic!
Goodness! Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic! The stenciling is gorgeous!
Thank you! It turned out better than I hoped!
That turned out beautifully! Great job.
Thanks so much!
What you did with the stencil is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Extremely Beautiful!!!!!!!
Thanks! It was kinda nerve-racking trying to be patient and careful. But, I kept reminding myself it's just paint. ☺
Really very beautiful!
Thank you, Gretchen!
Omg this is stunning 😊❤
Thank you for saying that!
Fabulous
Thank you, Marine!
Nice transformation.
I appreciate you!
❤
😊
Love, love, love the stenciling!!! I want a piece similar to this in my home😊
Thank you!!!
Beautiful!!!!
Thanks so much!
At first, I was dismayed to see that you whitewashed this cabinet! Especially after your hard work removing all of those paint layers. But I must admit, your idea was a good call -- it is gorgeous! I purchased a very similar piece just 2 days ago from Craigs list for $30 in its original condition! It has the same style of this charming etched design, but much more of it meanders around the drawer and cabinet fronts. Interestingly enough, it has a reddish-brown marble top instead of wood, and not one screw holds it together -- just many rusty nails. Although a few repairs were made during its long life, I find them charming, practical and perfect. I plan to clean it up and enjoy it just as it is in my living room. Tears came to my eyes when the very kind owner told me it had been in his recently deceased father-in-law's family for many years and how appreciative he was that it was going to a good home. I was very lucky to find it.
These pieces are special when we can find them! Thank you for sharing your story!
I'm typically not a stencil fan but I like the subtle color change. Looks nice.
Thank you for saying so!
Beautiful
Thanks so much!
We had a cabinet like this when i was growing up. It had such a gorgeous golden glow to the finish, with the floral accents just a touch darker. I understand that the current home decor trend is for all things grey and grey adjacent, but my memory of the warm wood of my dad's cabinet makes this white washing unappealing. So much work to get down to the wood just to paint it doesn't make sense to me. I hope the greyed whitewashing looks good in its new home and goes well with whatever is next to it.
I often come across these pieces at estate sales that are still in those beautiful states of warm, golden finishes. I don't touch those, but hope they find a new home. Since I'm not a furniture restorer I would not have been able to get this piece back to its original glory. I leave that to the pros. As for me, my goal was ( and always is) to make this a pretty piece that I could sell. And I did find a buyer who loves it. Thank you so much for your respectful comments!
Nice job!!!!!
Thanks so much!
This is absolutely gorgeous!! I’m not usually a big fan of stencils, but the subtle color difference gave the piece texture, and the gold for the hardware looks great! I have a couple of old dressers of similar style and condition, and I now have some great ideas! Thanks for the video! ❤
Thank you for saying that! Yeah, with stencils you have to be careful or they come off looking artsy craftsy. Good luck with your old dressers!
Please, can you reveil the origin of the transfer? So beautiful! Thanks a lot!
I love this transfer and just bought it again - my third time. And it's on sale right now. Antonia is its name. www.etsy.com/listing/1556166231/antonia-furniture-transfer-redesign
So very nice. I love green and gold. It was my high school colors.
Thanks so much, Hana!
I love the 'Ooops & mistakes' paint mixtures - always the best! I like your attention to detail and meticulous designs!!! I also feel your pain on moving furniture by oneself. I have so many ideas and plans that sometimes can't come to fruition because I work alone. Sometimes it weighs me down. Two of great note: 1) I moved a 1703 (circa) fireplace mantle surround by myself from the garage opening to a slight decline outside. When it began to rain I had an amazingly and dangerous time getting it back in & it began to fall apart. I had to leave it in the middle of the floor for months until someone could help me get it upright & stored until... (who knows?) and 2) A double door set of mid 1800's solid chestnut Eastlake doors for a client. I can't even speak about that. Beautiful work as always, Cat
Thanks, Cat! Gosh, you really have been through it with the heavy pieces! I think if I didn't have to move things up and down the stairs, I'd fare much better! Speaking of Oops paint, I almost always buy whatever Home Depot has. For 50 cents I'm sure to find a use for it some day ... I need to catch up on your videos!
@@tracymillerdesigns Thanks, Tracy! Yes, for me it's Lowe's because I have one available. The mistints! And sometimes I add calcium carbonate to them to make my own chalk style paint! Gotta love it and get it where you can!

Beautiful outcome
Thanks so much!

I would love for you to continue watching my channel, but for great explanations of what they're doing and why, watch someone like www.youtube.com/@salvagedbykscott She goes into just enough detail, but doesn't talk too much.
Beautiful ❤
Thanks so much!
Wow !!! What a beautiful piece of Eye Candy.!!!!!! Love it.!!!!😊😊😊
Ooh! Thank you!
Very nice
Thank you!
Stunning! ♥
Thank you!!!
I'm not a fan of sage because it can be so flat like a beige but the stencils gave it some dimension and the gold knobs were just the right amount of Extra! Nicely done!
Thanks so much!
Мне ненравится крашенная мебель ... можно сделать как она была , а это безкусица получилось
I've heard that many people don't like painted furniture. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Wonderful job! Thank you.
Thank you, Sunny!
I don't always like gold but really like this one.
Me, too! Thanks!
I personally don't like the gold knobs at all, but otherwise it is stunning!
Thanks!!!
Maybe a dolly style like they use to move fridges would be helpful. Harbor Freight has them.
I could use one of those to help me get it from the car to the house. It's on my to-buy list for sure!
That green color is beautiful and then adding the stenciling and gold knobs made it really pop!
Thanks so much!
