Oh my word! I just don’t understand why some people don’t appreciate all kinds of repairs and finishes. That you took your time, money, skills and expertise to save this from the trash is a win. There are all types of styles and tastes and anything is better than the trash. Lovely WORK
Madam, it turned out very pretty. Don't worry about paint haters - if somebody is here, keeps on watching your videos, watching your every move... Well, I'd tell them they are still your fans 😜 Can't wait to see your next video 😊
Thank you so much! Funny, but the paint haters don't bother me anymore. I think very carefully about how I will transform a piece, taking into account my skills, the condition of the piece, and how well it will sell in my market.
Looks great with that green and the stained darker top! Painting was a great choice for this piece. Too bad that someone painted the inside white….but honestly the white works with the green and easier to see what you are looking for in the cabinet. I think in the end you have created a lovely piece! Sometimes when you find a piece that someone wants to sell and it is older or even just stored in a barn… That piece would fit quite well in my country house! I currently have a huge piece that if it was in good shape, it would sell for over $3,000! But the barn leaked and it was being teared down to be put up on another property. Hubby was taking the contents to the dump. That dresser is huge and heavy. It had wood worms and some rot on the bottom, but it is all stripped down now waiting for some free time. It was painted and likely it will get painted again. The paint it had saved it. But its base was on old hay, it had mice nests where a couple of the drawers were left out. Sad. But you do what you can, eventually that chest of drawers will get an updated look! It’s a big job for sure. And you know someone will love it and others will hate it. But it won’t be at a dump. Everyone has styles they love….and ones they hate. Fine with me, but maybe put ourselves in their position and at least find something good or nice or helpful to say…and it doesn’t discourage someone. It’s ok to not like a piece or style but still…
Furniture has been painted as far back as ancient Egyptians, so not sure why so many complain when somebody paints an antique. Its now your washstand and your are free to do what ever you want. I love the fresh green color and the stained top.
I'm a little confused by the paint-haters. Is stained wood on some endangered list?? It's ALL OVER THE PLACE, where I live. I can only assume that the apts/homes of the complainers are full of refinished, stained furniture, that they've rescued. I'm amazed that even with the heading, saying that the piece was going to be painted, which was really hard to miss, some people still whined, so that makes me believe that those people live to complain...weird! Anyway, it came out beautifully, despite the fact that it's....GASP....painted!!
It’s hard to sand or strip pieces down to wood. I understand sometimes paint works best. It can be removed. Great restoring this piece. I love the color.
If I had known you were going to paint, I wouldn't have watched. I'm not saying your hard work is bad, but painting such a beautiful piece of furniture seems such a crime.😢
Why paint it it could be restored to it's original glory . Just do the repairs it needs and retain . It looks like someone already painted the insides . I don't understand why !!!!

@@tracymillerdesigns and that's the right approach 😉

Thank you! Gosh, you have your work cut out for you on your piece. Good luck getting it done!

I really don't get it either. Thank you so much!

Brilliantly said! My own home is a mix of painted and non-painted wood furniture and I love it all.
This looks to be a Victorian Eastlake antique... although I am not a fan of painted antiques. This turned out amazing.!
Thank you for your nice compliment!
Gorgeous!
Thanks!!!

Right, and since all the insides were already painted white, I knew it was more than I wanted to take on. Thanks!
NOOOOOO YOU WOOD PAINTERS! Well actually I'm not mad the green makes the patterns pop nice job.
You made me laugh! Thanks!
Mükemmel 👍👍 Desenler kahverengi olsa?
turned out gorgeous!
Thanks!!!
Would have liked the top painted.
That would have looked nice, also. 😊
Nice
Thank you!!!
Looks great!
Thanks so much!
Very nice work! Do you mind sharing what paint you used?
Thanks!!! I mixed several leftover paints together, so I don't even remember!
I would have loved to repair & restain it, but you lost me when you painted it that ugly green!!!
I had hoped my caption would keep non-painted wood people from watching and fretting. But alas.
If painted furniture offends you so much maybe you should read the heading and not watch!
If I had known you were going to paint, I wouldn't have watched.
I'm not saying your hard work is bad, but painting such a beautiful piece of furniture seems such a crime.😢
I was hoping my caption would let people know that I was going to use paint. 😊
@@tracymillerdesigns I feel didn't see it. I'm so sorry.
@@kimderrick7796No worries. You're awesome.

Maybe the next owner will restore it? But yeah, the inside of everything already being painted was a head-scratcher.
Or you could start your own restoration channel and let people critique you, and see how you feel about sparky comments about your hard work.
@@gingerdunn6590 not everyone shares the same taste-there are still plenty of unpainted pieces of furniture!🙄
