i was using the xm unironically with my mates in our supreme / global games and they always though oh there he goes trolling... but honestly, it was fucking good if you have good movement and gamesense, like I was destroying people but we just put it down to the enemies being bad since we were a 5stack.. but then the pros started using it.. same with the mac 10, I was rolling that too when it was thought of kind of an useless SMG. I come from ET so I'm used to having to get 3 headshots to kill people and move around doing it, honestly just playing standard m4 ak became boring at some point because it was much more fun being mobile and there's nothing better than tilting a german stack because just 3 man XM'd them when they've been practicing the way of the ak for 20 years.. also probably won many games by just tilting enemies for that matter. in like 2017 or whatever that wasnt supposed to happen. Not to paint myself as some impressive XM messiah that saw the future but sometimes you pick up a gun you can tell it's good but no one is using it because of previous stigma. Same with the mac10. Was using that aswell, then the pros also using it, i'm sure they were using it before or at the same time as me but in official matches to the public I mean. the thing is, both guns reward positioning and movement so there's a certain type of player that can just know where to place himself to use the full potential of guns like that. Most CS Players kinda suck at movement unless they played a real quake engine game before tbh, CS is a pretty slow game and bunnyhopping isn't really what I mean btw, Just how to move to not get hit and hit timings off beat. as a quake / ET refugee I always hated having to stand still to be accurate. Fuck that shit, I wanna run at you with an auto shotgun and headshot you at d2 long while you call my mom a whore in chat.

For the cs2 bhop commands - holding w hardcaps your speed in all directions, so cutting it as soon as you're in your jump for starting the bhop means that you'll get the optimal start every time, if I understood that script correctly. I played with similar scripts for getting cleaner starts on specific surf maps

You forgot the UMP and R8 meta. The UMP was a literal rifle for 1200 dollars. 2200 per round for a "rifle" and armour. When the R8 came out, you basically had an AWP for 800 dollars. I remember getting SO MANY "Insane" 5 bullet aces and "insane" 1v5 rounds because my aim was just good enough to hit a body at all times...

You missed the 1.6 Broken Meta when steam first came out. The Trick was to stay in spawn at the start of the round(must be a CT). you would have your main rifle and throw a HE Nade. At the same time you throw the nade you would buy a shield and you would get a invisible shield while keeping your main rifle.

I member the day they added the revolver to CSGO and it was unplayable for a couple days because I think the headshot damage was legit FUBAR

I remember very distinctly back in 1.6, when I had no idea how to play online, or speak and read english properly yet, on the map that became Aztec today, playing against bots. I remember that I planted, and that I didn't know I was the only T left. There were 3 CT's that rolled up on me, with shields deployed. Now, I did not know the shields would be, you know, an effective defense. Wasted my entire mag, and a fourth CT (maybe a fifth too) rolled up from behind the shield wall and nailed me like a dog. I was angry about it at the time, but man if it isn't funny to remember now.

Something that was also extremely broken were the Revolver when it came out and arguably the pre-nerf AWP aka kennyS meta. I also remember being able to fly away on the pigeons on Train but that was just funny.

I'm so nostalgic for 24/7 office in CS:S. The amount of grenades flying down the hallways and scattering furniture made for such a fun and chaotic experience.

The shield was one of the best things that happened to CS, sad they just removed it instead of tweaking it. If you can't kill your opponent, then the only way was to either out maneuver him (emphasize on movement), or ask a teammate to shoot him from the back (teamwork). But the playerbase wanted none of that, they just wanted headshots and prefire. Sad.
