Alan is very much still involved. He is a wealth of knowledge. Can't wait for Matt to do his thing. We will tweak and update a few things so hopefully this means more HP.

I was wondering the same thing

The Morris has legitimately been a race car its entire life. It is being restored period correct. Not ours but a very good friends. He's offered for me to drive it at Lakeside when it's done. He would probably also sell me it... he's tried a few times already... "You'd look good in that...".

We run a PAR gearset. Synchro but a few tricks inside to make it shift nicer. I made the coil bracket. I'd make more if there is a market for it?

Sounds like you had an awesome ride! I can empathise, if I had a dollar for every car I let go I'd be rolling in some pretty outrageous cars.... SS LX Hatch, XU1 GTR.... :( . I'm glad it gives you motivation, that's why we do it! Never give up :)

@@bettyandleon Yeah I had some cool cars along the way, but the RX2 is the only car I’ve really missed for the last 25 years. Still got my Profile BMX I bought in 1984 sitting in my lounge room. 😉

The weep hole is there for that and also as a tell tale to show the seal has failed. Prior to putting the impellor on I had an inquisitive look at the seal by removing it from the shaft not thinking it's probably a one time use. Silly me... will need to come up with a new plan! Betty is painted. The plan is to go full Herschel orange at some point.

Agree 100%, I think version 2 will get a larger diameter can... It'd be nice to hide it all on the RX2 but there's not enough space to squeeze it all in.

@@bettyandleon Yeah bit of a bummer it rains. The last time I was there was 1993 when I raced my BP RX2. You car reminds me of it.

Volvo 4 Pots because we have to use brakes used in the period. Both cars are the same.

I don't do the cooler unless we have a fresh rebuild. With how little mileage we do and how often we replace the oil it's not worth the expense. Always comes out clean.

We could have if we had it on the right stand... it was that conundrum of swapping the engine mounting for the final bit or not. We chose the lazy option haha!

It's a 12A bridgeport, light weight everything and balanced to with an inch of it's life. 48 IDA, custom headers and exhaust. Nothing super special for a race engine but just all the right tricks from the engine builder to make it go! 4 speed synchro box. Custom ratios. Rear diff is still rx2 with floaters put on it. The class rules stipulate very minimal changes from the original car. This is why we still have hood linings, door cards, stock rear drum brakes etc. I manufactured all the braces for our cars. Never sold them to any one (never tried). Your car sounds like a good setup. We would run a 13B if the rules allowed. Lots more freely available parts for those.

Whose RX-3 did you have? My father raced an RX-3 at Bathurst in 77.

@@darenpenhall3669 this will freak you out - it was your Dad’s. I bought from a guy called Vince Budin who is now my brother-in-law. I raced the car in club motorsport for a while before selling it to a guy from Manly Warringah sporting car club. That would been 1982 or 1983. By that stage it was getting sad. The body had seen better days. Don’t know what happened to the car. I knew it was Ben’s car because front fenders were folded in at bottom and it had a ding on the radio support panel.

We have a tonne of stock axles....If you ever need some hit me up. The watts link came from Dick Savy of Savy Motorsport when he used to make bits like that. He's moved into making the best dry sump pumps around now so the best bet would be to go to race products.

Thank you :), 5.1 is what's in it now but I've run 4.4 with a different set of gearbox ratios and it was just as fast but less forgiving as you had to float the car through certain corners and if you got it wrong you paid for it. 5.3 is next on the list....

@@bettyandleon I’m guess you’re got the PAR gear sets and not just the MFR 4 speed? I’ve got those ratios 5.1 and 5.3 in the short nose, but in my Rx3 I’ll be using the MFR long nose ratios 4.3, 4.6 and 4.8, so the 4.8 will have to do. Thanks for the info. I like the name of the car, btw, great legacy after late Leon Prgomet (I’m guessing) as Alan and late Wayne used Leon services up until he died.

@@lloyd12a We use a combination of gear sets depending on the track but in this car is a PAR. Exactly, named after Leon Prgomet. We never knew him but he left his legacy through Matt, Alan & Wayne.

Between races they were trying to find the leak but couldn't find it. It was gear oil so I'm going to go with a crack that opens up when it gets hot. I've had similar in the rx2's 3rd member. Wasn't great having all that oil stuff on my windshield!
