I'm just going to make myself the resident "I had one of those!" guy. 12A Bridge, and 5spd. I feel this series might stir some emotion 😄

Haha! You're more than welcome too reminisce.
It's never too late to get back into the game with another 12A :)

@@bettyandleon I have a 1600 Datto in the garage that is doing that job. I had 2 before I got my rotor (like 27 years ago...), so that's been the dream car bucket list since. Rotors are stupid expensive now, triple what a Datsun will fetch.

@@AdamEwart That is so true. Rotors are stupid money. Datsun 1600s are awesome. I used to have one back in the day. Nothing like a L16/L18 with webers at full noise!

    Great upgrades
The multi v belt 5/6pk is far better than the old v belt,
Multi v belt doesn't slip or wear out as quick as the old v belt
Multi v belt pulley, belt is great upgrade for road car and race 😁
Where video on the dusty rx2 coupe ??? 😁

Agree 100 percent! Fun fact, the multi v has less frictional loss compared with a v belt too.
Dusty coupe vids coming soon. It needs a little bit of work to get it back on the rd but it should be pretty quick.

Relatively speaking for every advantage you gain is a down side you can't get something from nothing, the biggest issue a rotary has is lack of torque /mechanical inertia, a perfect balance is probably the key 🤔

For sure, or take the f1 approach. Spin it to the moon!

    S4 aliminium water pump housing?

Might be a stupid question but, can't you rotate the engine stand to orient the e-shaft vertically so the Torrington bearing stays in place when the front nut is undone? If not, How do you stack your motors?

We could have if we had it on the right stand... it was that conundrum of swapping the engine mounting for the final bit or not. We chose the lazy option haha!

Are electric water pumps not legal for racing? If they were, would there be any advantage over the usual setup?
    What alternator are you using?

In our category we can run a elec water pump but the original must also remain. Its to keep with the period look. We just run the standard pumps as they do the job but there is merit to recirc'ing the water when the car is not running.
At the moment just a stock alternator that's under driven. In future I'd like to fit one which is the same as Leon's. Power Master PM8188.
