Real Life #womensselfdefense / Sifu Drakulic Calls Out False Experts
Learning self-defense is especially important for women because it empowers them to protect themselves, build confidence, and navigate the world more safely. Here are key reasons why:
1. Personal Safety
Women are statistically more likely to face threats such as assault, harassment, or domestic violence. Self-defense training equips women with skills to recognize danger, de-escalate situations, and protect themselves if attacked.
2. Increased Confidence
Self-defense training helps women feel more confident in their ability to handle potential threats. This confidence often extends into other areas of life, fostering a sense of empowerment and self-reliance.
3. Physical and Mental Strength
• Physical Benefits: Self-defense classes improve strength, reflexes, and overall fitness, making women less vulnerable to attackers.
• Mental Benefits: It teaches situational awareness and quick decision-making under stress, which are crucial in emergency scenarios.
4. Breaking Gender Stereotypes
Learning self-defense challenges societal stereotypes that portray women as weak or dependent. It reinforces that women can stand up for themselves and assert their independence.
5. Awareness and Prevention
Self-defense isn’t just about fighting back; it’s also about understanding how to avoid or prevent dangerous situations. This includes learning about body language, setting boundaries, and identifying potential threats early.
6. Building a Supportive Community
Self-defense classes often foster a sense of camaraderie and mutual encouragement among participants, creating a supportive environment for personal growth.
7. Responding to Real-World Threats
While society is working toward reducing violence against women, the reality is that threats still exist. Knowing self-defense can provide a critical layer of protection until broader systemic changes take effect.
In summary, self-defense is not just about physical techniques-it’s about fostering a sense of security, independence, and empowerment. It enables women to live their lives with greater freedom and less fear.

second rule of martial arts: don't be grabbing anyone by the wrists.
🙇♂️🇨🇦⚔️ Awesome lesson!
Good stuff. I love your channel. What you show is simple, fast, & effective. It would mix well with a grappling system such as BJJ or "catch", or "Nike-kwon do" / i.e. runaway). Keep up the great videos.
love your real-life applications and taking wing tsun/wing chun into reality - thx for that and especially for charing it ! greetings from germany p.s.: would love to see every chum-kiu set taken into real-life application - maybe in video-series
I love the huen sao application too, they can't keep up th grip.
People who have never taken an elbow to the sternum/chest don't even know the effect. It's a piercing penetrating pain that lasts. My wife hit me in the chest (125lbs) setting up a stab (Piper) and I felt it for 2hrs....and that was a light hit! This is EXCELLENT!!!!
Haha try that against a boxer dude
In that close of a range. It's technique vs power. I'd go for technique
Excellent instruction, Sifu D.
Great application of the 4th chi sao section.
4:45 I like that as a first tool, rhe CHAANG PALM. Im impressed with your apprentice/student. Shes a master too. 💯😊 The armed QUAN sao in particular is just great thinking. She didn't chase hands, she followed targets. 💯😊🌞
Love it. Empowering and honest. Strong mind with confidence in movement. Thank you Sifu
The slap on hand demo had more windup. The actual demo didn't look like it would hurt the guy. Not trolling, genuinely curious, I have a lot of respect for this channel.
@@alexchen5811 When she was striking, she used her control to deliver the energy but not the full force of the strikes. Otherwise I would be knocked out and seriously in hospital. Showing efficiency does not mean damaging someone or creating unnecessary injuries or knockouts.
@@MYVLMA But you do at least train full power on a heavy bag right? I do understand that you don't go full force on a training partner just like in light sparring sessions.
@ yes of course.
Cant wait to come get sum classes w ya, homie.
you're the best i cant stop watching
❤
I like the logic. It is interesting and I wanted to see some woman selfdefence approach. Now if she truly manage that knee somehow with full force... Its gonna be divorce😊
If Wing Chun is simply for exersize and stretching, I'm not interested. if it does what it says, and is self defense for the smaller person, then I'm fully into it!
@@pipappleyard3982 Let’s go then!

“Don’t even comment” 💪
Wing chun ❤❤❤
post real sparring....
The real "epic fight" is the one that doesn't actually happen. Thru combined self confidence and controlled ego one is able to verbally de-escalate the confrontation before it gets physical. * The best self-defense I pass on is 1) stay out of bars, 2) don't be an ass to people in public. This will increase your public safety 90% without "any" training needed.
Thats what my shifu preaches😂 never let up. So much pressure you want your opponent to feel like yall wearing the same shirt and pants😂😂
I also come from the lineage as you Leung Ting under Shifu Ean Willis
This strategy of staying so close works if the opponent is taller, heavier, stronger, and angry😂?
@benc2279 No, I'm taught to keep pressure on everyone, nobody exempt!!
this is a fantastic partnership lads
YES! WC is legit. AND it helps with enhance BJJ training
I’d like to see this tried against a mma fighter. “Wing chun has no rules “. I still don’t believe this will work against a mma fighter or a very strong person that’s a natural fighter. That’s just my opinion.
It’s hard to believe and show in video, the best thing is to come experience it for yourself if you are that person. The reason Ilan keeps coming back is because he has felt that it does work.
one of the best wing chun videos online
if you get that close i cant think that you have the time to react.lets say he is too fast.why dont he get in better?
I would be concerned that someone with skill would trap you while your arms are crossed!
I love how Sifu explains it and shows it 💯👍
Reacting to surprise attacks: 40 years ago I briefly attended a Wing Chun school in Denver. The instructor would spontaneously make a signal, and everyone would stop what they were doing and grab something in the room to use as a weapon-a broom, a chair, whatever. It was training for a street situation. The instructor felt that the 1st course of action on the street was grabbing any kind of object to better your odds.
I like this advice. That's why pens are such good self defense weapons. People used to always have them in their pockets. Now we should learn to use our phones. Should buy cheaper phones.
Why not develop your anti slapping techniques into a knife attack and knife threat knife defense methodology?
@@TonyqTNT I do have my own knife defense system, we will show part of it but it will be completely available as an online curriculum.
Nice slapping-action! Bud Spencer proved how devastating a slap in the face can be! 😉 This “he keeps attacking me when I'm not expecting it” reminds me of the old “Pink Panther” films with Peter Sellers, where Inspector Clouseau comes home and is ambushed by his servant Kato so that they both stay in training. 😊 It has to be said, of course, that surprise attacks are ALWAYS almost impossible to counter or fend off!!! Whether it's a slap in the face or, worse, a headbutt. These sucker punches, which were “fashionable” for a while, are also really fatal! You can train your attention and try to be alert, read body language to some extent and anticipate, but it's damn difficult!!!! On the street, there's no referee who asks if you're ready and then gives the go-ahead. That's why the Cobra-Kai motto applies on the street: “Strike first!” 😉
this is gold!!!
Chris rock will be better prepared now:)
😂
I want to know, which lineage of wing chun did you study and who your teachers are. Hopefully get an answer. Greets from germany
@@highko7937 If is the lineage of GGM Leung Ting. Besides my own Sifu (Klaus Schildert) I learned from GGM Leung Ting personally.

@MYVLMA me too, I hear it in my head all the time
Love this episode. Great stuff guys. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Great video
🙏
Great thing about this technique is that if it works against slap attacks then it should work against haymakers as well.
👍👍
I believe this technique could have knife 🔪 defense applications because I think the people who live in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and Indonesia 🇮🇩 have kinda the same self-defense principles!!!

There is so much more....I was a private student of my teacher GM Rene Latosa for 22 years and trained under him every week..
@@dasimmyr9840 then let’s meet and see if there’s anything you know more in both styles, because we had the same teachers, GGM Leung Ting and GM Rene Latosa. It would be interesting for me to see how much of all the content, mottos and theories of the forms you would be able to show and explain in the same time frame, like my video is. Let’s see 😉
@MYVLMA I do. The funny thing for me is your attitude is very misplaced Sifu Schildert or his Si-Hing Sifu Vilimek would never behave in this manner. Ever
Many details are missing....lots😮
@@dasimmyr9840 great please upload a video with all those missing details. 😮
@MYVLMA I give you ONE for the SNT: In my seminar in 1990 GM Dr. Leung Ting explained that to go from the double Lan Sao into double Jum that the left hand makes a back facing Pak Sao.....GM Dr. Leung Ting then showed the application of it in my seminar..... AND ONE FOR THE CK: In the Bong - Wu going into Lan and Tsui Chong there is a Lan and Wu Sao in the straight facing position before turning 90 degrees This GM Dr.Leung Ting explained in 1988. My students include many 5th PG levels.
BJJ is a bunch of nonsense.
