    Maaaaaan! I could listen to you talk tools all day! Considering your love for ratchets... You gotta try the KOKEN Z-series! Smoothest, zero backdrag, reasonably priced, beautifully machined ratchets money can buy. Japanese made. Their socketry is amazing as well. Given that you like magnetic, check out their 'Nut Grip' sockets. All the holding power of magnets without picking up metal shavings. They work on nonferrous metal too.... I think that USA bit driver you were wondering about is 'BUCK KNIFE' company branded... I think? Thank you for the video!🇨🇦

    My Duralast stuff is all holding up great after about a year of use in professional and home settings as I have tons at home and work. I’ve also began trying DieHard from Advance Auto as well. Both great brands. I’ve got tools from all the parts stores and I love them. I’m still trying to find one of the old Duralast ratchets with the blue and black handle. I found one on eBay a while ago but it was out of my price range.

      Yeah I bought mine online as well they don’t make em anymore and the people who have them at as if they have a piece of gold… I never used them I just like the thought of having them… all those tools are probably manufactured in the same plant anyway. Thanks for watching im gonna come out with some new videos for 2024

    I have a few Duralasts - the 1/4 body 3/8 head, 1/4 100T flex head and the round head with the knurled finger ring and I like them. My go-to are cordless ratchets too 😂. Love the speed and relief from repetitive-stress.

    I like how this is a Kobalt tool review but the thumbnail is the Irwin extractor sockets. haha Hey you should also do some videos on Harbor Freight's Master Socket Sets from Quinn. They have 3 of them, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 and they don't skip any sizes and each box comes with both SAE and Metric! They're fairly new but HF will be coming out with coupons very soon.

      @@w33dj0602 - cool glad you liked it....I would also love to see vids from you on Harbor Freights impact socket sets, they look amazing and they have the torq and hex socket sets and whether you think those would be needed by new mechanics or maybe wait till later. I think those are from QUINN also. The ICON impact socket sets look great but they only have a few in their sets compared to the Quinn ones.

    Nice toolbox tour. My favorite ratchet was the 3/8 with the 1/4 inch body. I got to get one of those. Make sure you store your Digital torque wrench without the batteries in it. I have heard stories of the batteries going bad and messing up the contacts.

      DeWalt has a dcf900 now that is even stronger than that one. I love my 899 too. Also the dcf921 Atomic is really nice, not quite as strong as the 899 but it's very close & super compact, & way lighter. I use the 921 most of the time instead of 899 cause that thing gets a lil too heavy at times(especially overhead work).

  • @dalelange845
    @dalelange845 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the smart choice of tools for the job. All cost-effective choices as long as you know what you can expect from their performance. A lot of people have never heard of Tekton. They have really upped their game lately. Their socket sets have always been an excellent product for a fair price. I think they are changing up their wrench manufacturer, so they are selling off the existing inventory pretty cheap. Personally, I don't have any of their ratchets so I can't speak to their quality, but the lifetime warranty on all their products is second to none. They don't care when, how, or why you have one of their tools, if it's broken, they'll replace it free and cover the shipping....forever....no questions asked.... no receipts necessary. They don't even care what idiotic thing you were doing with the tool to make it break....they'll make it right! The guarantee that Craftsman used to have and the easy replacement is what made Craftsman a household name....Tekton seems to have taken that page right out of the Craftsman playbook. Rare these days. 🙂

    • @w33dj0602
      @w33dj0602 ปีที่แล้ว

      @w33dj0602 So you do the pawn shop thing too? Great place to get individual sockets to replace a size that goes missing. Our local pawn shop has one of those round tree parts bins loaded with single sockets. Sunex has nice stuff too with a great warranty... good value.

    How do you decide what settings to use for your impacts?

    • @w33dj0602
      @w33dj0602 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a stubby M12 so I always use the highest setting because I’ve tested it with my torque wrench and it’s about what I need

  • @jsax42
    @jsax42 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Shade T! I’m a recent weekend wrencher. Inherited my dads 2008 Tacoma when he passed. I appreciate the honesty of your videos. Keep making them when you can because they are helpful to me. I wish I had found you before I went shopping for tools. I realized after watching this video that I wasted a lot of money early on buying high end instead of buying value and slowly upgrade. Not to mention, parts are getting really expensive lately. I should have put more money towards parts instead. Can you do a video on floor jacks? I’ve been looking at harbor freight of course but once again which ones to buy especially for a truck. Once again appreciate the videos you’ve made.
