How To Spot Bacteria In Your Grain Jars
มุมมอง 15Kปีที่แล้ว
Your jars may look and smell like they're good to go but may not be. Wild Bird Seed can harbor bacteria that is able to survive the sterilization process in your P.C. and that infection can cause a minimal amount of flushes, low yields from those flushes, small and/or low potency fruits and deformed and extremely mutated fruits. Here's what to look for.

      Yeah, dice roll is a good way to put it. Most jars it's jars it's super obvious you should chuck it out but it takes a little while to train your eye to spot the ones that maybe aren't so obvious. If you do spawn them and your tubs get patches of green mold before it's fully colonized or pinning then it's very likely that that spawn had a little something funky in it. Happy Growing Amigo!!😁

    I’m getting major pseudo intellectual Reddit atheist vibes from this. Just because something lacks scientific evidence does not invalidate it. Yes I agree there is a problem with spiritual people who claims their beliefs are scientific (I.e the woman in the video). But truth be told science has limits and there is so many things we do not know and cannot be studied scientifically, so saying things like “souls, spirits, auras, life after death doesn’t exist” just shows you have surface level understanding of science, just like the people you criticize. Not saying you have to believe those things but you can’t make claims with 100% certainty if it cannot be backed up. Again, there is a lot of shit we do not 100% know so when spiritual people come up with their own explanations about things like what is reality, consciousness, existence, souls, higher dimensions, etc, it shouldn’t be a problem as long as they don’t claim what they say is scientific and 100% true.

    • @RickL555
      @RickL555 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello thanks so much for dropping by. Yes, I can't say with a 100% certainty cuz that's not how science works but there's not a single shred of evidence that chakras, auras or life after death actually exists. Hitchens Razor states "that which can be presented without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence" so until the day that evidence and data comes in there's no reason to give it any real consideration whatsoever. In my experience the people that say "well science can't explain everything" usually hold beliefs they know science would deem to be bullshit.

    • @parzival9651
      @parzival9651 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well I mean the mainstream science does pretty much just dismiss anything non-material (gods, souls, etc) as bullshit. True spirituality really has little to nothing to do with being scientific, it is philosophical actually. Yea there’s some people who make bullshit claims about their beliefs having scientific proof but they do not represent spirituality as a whole. Also adding onto my point of lack of evidence ≠ invalid, lack of the right technology is something that prevents scientific studies of things. Half the shit we know now was not possible to measure centuries ago. Even today there’s things about the universe we can’t measure, like Dark Matter for example. Now i’m not saying all this to invalidate your materialistic beliefs, but it’s just something to keep in mind. Bottom line is everything is a huge fucking mystery and until we get hard evidence, people are welcome to have any type of beliefs and they should be respected as long as they aren’t being harmful about it like forcing their beliefs on others, making false claims with 100% certainty, etc. This applies to everyone: Atheists, Theists, religious people, spiritualists, etc.

    When you're using so much LC that you get pooling, especially in a medium like WBS, you can also add a tablespoon or two of BRF powder to the jars before you PC them. That will even out the moisture, keep things drier, and still provide a food source to the mycelium. To be honest, the times I played around with adding some BRF (also when I used WBS, so it has been some years), I swear it would colonize even faster. I think having tiny grains of food to much on coating the larger grains, each of those BRF grains now also hosting living mycelium, seems to make it even quicker.

      @RickL555 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No shaking. It's an extra step that I started skipping a couple of years ago. It can increase the chances of your jar stalling out and sometimes the mycelium gets weakened a little and grows slower. Maybe if I were still using spore syringes I might but a good, healthy LC grows so fast the shake step was not needed. Thanks for dropping by!😃

      @@RickL555 hi mate, before I read your reply I had already shaken the jars! There is 30 percent colonization, I noticed that there was a small area left at the bottom that was stuck and did not want to crumble. I also feel that the beans look a little dry! The temperature is 27-30 degrees Celsius. I have a feeling that I'm doing something wrong, I'm asking for help and advice.

    • @RickL555
      @RickL555 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're probably fine but keep an eye out for contamination. Give it a few days. If there's no visible mold and if it's not all slimly you should be good to go. Just don't re-shake them another time. It's hard when you a beginner because it could be a couple of weeks before you'll know if you screwed up or not. It can be stressful at times. Check out the Shroomery message boards. Lots of good info there too. Good luck!!@@plamenconev3387

    Rick, this is excellent work. New Age bullshit and conspiracy theories lead tons of people down endless rabbit holes. My only complaint is that you have taken a few seconds of Dennis McKenna and Stan Grof and used their comments to criticize these worthy men despite their years of productive service in the psychedelic movement. I appreciate what you do with these animated shorts, your choice of graphics, and the steady narration you provide. Keep up the good work!

    I tend to lean a little less negative. For instance...I do believe the world has gotten much much much better for the average individual human life than in the past. Somehow you are able to pull an idea from somewhere, use some creativity and super skills to whip up a video that I can now consume, contemplate, ruminate on and ultimately continue to design and construct my bubble piece...by...piece. I find that magical and I realize I'm just as much a lunatic as everyone else.

      Thank you so much for watching and you're right I definitely lean towards pessimism. I do see the positive changes in the world but those causes are all being championed by the folks stuck at the bottom. I think the point I was getting at is the worlds big problems are being both caused and ignored by the people at the top. As an example labor rights have been eroded but occasionally there's a victory like the Starbucks employee's unionizing. But for every story like that you hear 10 more about some 14 year old kid being unlawfully horse whipped and dying in the machinery at a poultry plant. Or wild life sanctuaries being opened up for drilling. Those problems start at the top. Thank you so much!!!

    Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I'm extremely fortunate that my sister works at a hospital and so she has access to the gear I use. You can repurpose the barrel from spore syringes that you order (or just order some the same size). The needle part is an18 gauge (try not to go any smaller that that if you can) and it's 3 1/2 inches long. Also needle sizes get smaller as the number goes up. 22 is way smaller than 18 as an example so make sure the one you get is in the 16-18 gauge range. I hope that helps. Good luck amigo! Thanks for dropping by.😃
