Muratic acid is NASTY stuff and total overkill - not to mention BAD for your pipes/seals. I just use a commercial product called CLR, it dissolves calcium, lyme and rust (hence the name). Shut off the water supply and flush first, then pour about a quart of CLR down the overflow tube in the toilet tank then I just let it sit overnight. The next day use you toilet brush to scrub under the rim to loosen mineral deposits (I have hard water and just dip the brush in the CLR sitting in the bowl), turn the water back on and flush a couple of times. Viola - it's clean! You'll also notice your toilet now flushes with more gusto and it doesn't clog quite as easily.

Will Muriatic acid bother the plastic piping overflow pipe in the toilet tank itself.

If you get all of the water out, Naval Jelly works wonders. It's thick and clings to everything. Just work it a little with a toilet brush. Naval Jelly is also great for cleaning ceramic tile floors. Caution on natural stone floors. It'll etch it and make it rough. 🐀🐾

I used ice melt salt mix it works great pour into the little pipe fill It up add a lot in the back of toilet over night then drop your shower head into the back of the toilet overnight safe on rubber too
