    I have 3 ubiquiti unifi 6 ceiling mounts in my house I used the second 2 as wall mounts as they are hid and don’t care wat they looked like .. because the wall mounts in unifi 6 were discontinued and the WiFi 7 were twice the price so that’s why I used the ceiling mounts on the walls they do the same job .. but I wanted to change the names on the units actually only one in particular the one upstairs in the music studio.. I just want to rename it UPSTAIRS STUDIO.. so do I have to download the ubiquity app to access wat you are doing here .. thanks my friend you have some great information on your channel is much appreciated thanks my man and cheers from Ireland 🇮🇪.. 👍👍

    Can you assign multiple devices to each entry? I'm going to set this up as a gate access intercom at a personal residence and want the directory to show: Main House, Guest House and Shop, each of which will have an access viewer, but I'd love it if it also pushed a notification to the owners iphone Access app, so if a delivery arrives when he is not home, he can answer it through the app and open the gate. Is that possible? (So when someone pushed Main House, it would simultaneously ring the main house access viewer and the owners access app on mobile)

      UniFi Cameras are ultimately all the same in how they operate. There is no cloud storage but you can backup recordings to your cloud storage. You cannot use a UniFi Camera without either a UniFi NVR or another multipurpose console such as a Dream Machine Pro.

  • @royvanderwens
    @royvanderwens หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have a question. Can you use face and/or animal recognition of the AI Pro to inform the Unify system that it doesn’t need to send notifications in the app? For example, when I’m working in my garden, it could recognize that it’s me and not send a gazillion messages every time I move, like my G4 Pro does. The same goes for our dogs/ chickens in the garden.

    • @home.network.solutions

      Do you have motion detection activated? It is normally preferable to just have people and vehicle only if you want to keep the notifications down. I do not believe you can reverse the notifications settings as you are suggesting

    Great overview!! I just ordered one :D Any idea what the antenna beam form is on these or from experience how they do if mounted higher? If I mounted one at chest height would it give me any issues with coverage for things on a desk etc? Trying to get above some furniture in a home and I have wall access but not ceiling access. I'm pretty experienced with Unifi stuff just haven't used one of these.

    • @home.network.solutions
      @home.network.solutions หลายเดือนก่อน

      The focus is away from the wall so provided you are in front of it you should not have any issues at all regardless of the height. It is also possible to wall mount the other APs like the U6+ which would be a cheaper option. Thanks for watching 🙏

    How does management of the AMP work after initial install? Can I control what users have access to it? What if someone steps onto the network with the app, can they hijack the amp or is it locked to authorized users after install?

  • @pbrigham
    @pbrigham หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is exactly why a video can be completely misleading, out of the box the U6+ is configured with 40MHz channel width on 5 GHz band, I know that for sure because I have installed a few, I bet the others are on the 80MHz spectrum, and that is exactly why you have the difference in speeds.

    • @home.network.solutions
      @home.network.solutions หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s correct. I have another video on increasing the speed of UniFi Access Points by changing the channel width. The intention of this video is to make a comparison of the APs setup in the most basic out the box way which is how many self installers would do it. There is much more that can be done with Ubiquiti to improve speeds but it takes a bit more know how.

    Have you had a chance to look at the 2K AI Bullet ? The plastic UI use sometimes can discolour, like most do, but it doesn't deteriorate and remains solid long term. I've had a couple of G3 bullets in full sun for a few years. The plastic did discolour a bit, but was always solid and not physically deteriorated. As a note, all Protect cameras in the G4 and G5 range with a microphone do the audio detection. I have G5 Flex's that do it. It depends how you have it configured in the Protect UI as to how long it needs to go for. In the Protect UI it shows it as an alarm symbol now, not sure if that was the same 3 months ago. If it goes for long enough to just not be a nuisance alarm or a quick test it works reliably and very well. I am guessing you didn't let your alarm go for long enough that first time when it went off. I had to let mine go for about 10 seconds before it would pick it up each time. Your smoke alarm uses the temporal tones that the Protect system picks up. I am in Australia and never had an issue with it detecting the smoke alarm testing, but I do have to let it run for at least 10 seconds. I think the issue may be you are not letting the alarms go off long enough

    • @home.network.solutions
      @home.network.solutions หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching. I can say on the smoke alarm, but I had the burglar alarm running for over 20 seconds, and it didn't pick that up. I can't say first hand on the cameras deteriorating over time, but the Access Points definitely become more brittle over the years in the sun, we have found this on-sites with outdoor APs we installed 6-7 years ago, but it isn't really a problem unless you need to move them. The Access Points still function well.

    • @EsotericArctos
      @EsotericArctos 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@home.network.solutions I think UI have improved their plastics recently, but I still prefer to mount the access points in a slightly sheltered location. I recently got the G5 Pro with the Vision Enhancer, and they are a brilliant camera. I didn't need the advanced features of the AI Pro, so I am really happy with the G5 Pro. The G3 Bullets use to discolour badly, but they never actually crumbled, so maybe a good retrobrite would fix them lol. But yeah, I think the more modern plastics are definitely better. UI cameras are just so many steps higher up in quality over Reolink and even HikVision, and a lot more secure too
