Thank you. Didn't even think of turning off unifi's adblock settings for the networks I'm using adguard home. Have been on a spiral of pihole and adguard threads / videos for hours!
@@home.network.solutions what about safety risks associated with selecting ads? It is standard practice to prevent opening ad results in an enterprise setting.
Curious about your comment that you don't need a secondary DNS server? Surely if the pihole is down any configuration on it for a secondary DNS service is also blocked?
The idea is that if the Pihole DNS fails it falls back onto the DNS service you selected. I suppose there is no harm in putting a secondary DNS in Unifi as well if you think there is a chance of the PiHole failing completely.
If you have 2 pihole/adguard/etc servers running on different hardware (backup redundancy) put the other in dns2 and so on so if one is off for any reason the other takes over and you don't loose internet.

Glad it was helpful! Good luck!
Yeah i noticed it didn't really do too much when i had it enabled... in fact we noticed some things didn't work anymore so we had to switch it off.
Yep, it stops you being able to click on ads in Google searches which is pretty annoying sometimes. Thanks for watching!

How do you have your pihole setup... is it a virtual machine on the nas or a docker or something?
NAS docker
can unifi do IP blocking those like PFblockerNG on pfsense? cause pi-hole cannot do ip, only DNS.
yes it can.
@@angelventura3463 I guess I meant incoming not outgoing connections at the firewall level
