I'll pile on the positive comments below. I've had dozens of domains (and mainly WP websites) since the early 2000s starting and sticking with one of the big daddies at the time. Unfortunately for me, I never took the time to really pay attention to the details like you have here. I don't want to even begin to calculate the amount of money I wasted by not paying more attention for 20 years. Months become years and a few dollars becomes real money that you can barely see due to the trickle effect of the opaque billing process. Thanks for your honest and transparent info. It is *refreshing* ...especially at this time and with this topic. If I could make an ask. It would be great to see you walk through the weeds on connecting Namecheap to one or two of your suggestions. Cheers!

Thank you for making this video. The amount of misleading content on TH-cam and the Internet at large about BlueHost is overwhelming. After using them for the last 20 years, I am happy to be looking for an alternative after being ripped off and lied to for the last few years. Knowing how painful it can be to switch hosting providers they have unleashed a campaign of taking away features and raising prices while constantly trying to trick customers into unnecessary surcharges.

But how many domains

they are horrible. i have a single email address- god help me if i trust them to host a site- its been six weeks and they can't get it to work. every single time i want to log in, i have to reset the password and chat customer support

If I buy my domain name from namecheap, but host my site on Inmotion, do I need to link the domain to the host provider site? And would I expect to pay separately to each company for the domain or the site hosting ? I'm considering buying my domain from porkbun and host/build my site on InMotion. This combination gives me the best value for the money I believe. My business will sell digital downloads and I'll use templates (not WordPress, since I don't know that app) to build the pages. Appreciate clarification on the first 2 questions.

GoDaddy has good support. I just called them because i wanted to transfer away my domain and they were really helpfull. Sadly i had to abort because Cloudflare doesn't have .it domains.... which i just realized while i was on the call. Anyway. Did you just buy a burger for this video?

Host gator is a scam! They have NO return policy contrary to what they say. When they find out you want money back they leave you on hold for hours and stone wall!!

because they put their prices up without informing you and you cannot speak to anyone only an annoying bot which takes you round in circles - BAD SERVICE.

I highly recommend Cloudflare because of its security, performance, and many more with the best price. It's a little bit hard to use but try to learn and then it will be super cool

the trademark was never open source, this is entirely about that - it has nothing to do with the source code...

NameCheap not having SSL isn't a big deal at all, since many/most website hosts provide SSL free via Let's Encrypt.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Scalahosting. It's not the cheapest (about $14 a month) but is one of the fastest and most complete managed hosting providers out there.
