How do you also know when yo connect CT in same relay? Can you use 1 CT to 1 relay?
Well Actually that specific Relay is called a Differential relay, It operates on the difference of reading between the two pick up If CT1 detects 400 amps and after traffo a variation of current is observe mainly due to transformer ground fault or internal fault this Relay will trip. I hope I am making sense here.
How do you identify what relay to use? You used an overcurrent relay and a multifunction relay in your study. What are their difference? Thanks

As a seasoned protection engineer myself, very well put in such short time.
Just a theoretical question. Say, you have got a 87L set for the line. The distance elements are there as backups. It won't hurt to have a 50P and SOTF and there's little needed to have them enabled, but are they really needed if you have 87L?

this is vector addition, means both magnitude and angle will affect the result, as the addition is done in the carestian system

Hello I'm new to electronics so can some one please tell my magnet type alternators in cars would an transformer reduction work to 220v ? I mean can the stator leads 3phase by used to connect to an transformer 3phase to 2phase transformer I'm worried about high frequency I wanted to use external indisti type bridge rectifiers so I'm worried about over loading the stator leads inside the alternator just to run small projects .Preciseli I'm just looking at independent ignition system for an 4 cilinder engine with out baterry problems Basicali. So Hoppe some one did similar project in the past. I also want to use that magnet type alternator for back up in case I need inverter to run small machines or light bulbs when power is cutt off. So Hoppe for some sugestions ? I heard an solar panel regulator could by used so I'm not Shure if that would work or not .I'm mostli concerned about stator leads,over drag Hoppe to not brake pulley to engine connection and would avoid engine lagg from over load .

Why do we take 180% of the fault current on the low-side and reflect it to the high-side for 50P? It seems like we're taking extra steps. Couldn't we just take 180% of the maximum high-side fault current based on the transformer size?

Could you explain or make a video on open phase faults and sequence components. I have a very hard time finding material on when a phase opens but isn't connected to ground or another phase. If this happens, I'm curious on the symmetrical components and what they look like.
Just now i noticed my ETAP 16 is malfunctioning. For protection coordination, whatever values i enter in the differential relay properties box, vanishes once i press OK button. This happens for CT ratings too. When i tried to disable overcurrent protection, the same happened. Unable to set breakers to open. Everything works first. When i reopen the properties box, nothing is there. Everything is in the default value. And so breakers are not opening. What goes wrong.?

I have a three phase CT’d service. The meter is showing reverse current. I swapped the polarity and it still shows reverse current. All of my kWh are showing received. What could be my problem?
Check the each phase CT is the same as the PT feeding is. IE not cross phase.

Is 150% common for pick up current? I am used to seeing 125% on low voltage.
125% is normal, 150% is more of this Engineers decision. Some Engineers add more percentage because they want to be 100% sure they don’t trip any operational load current.
Please make another video and tell about differential relay program with FBD....!
