Awesome figure nonetheless. I just got mine today, however, the tail on mine does not seem to fit... :/ Any ideas on how to get it in? I am thinking either sanding it or just using a heat gun.

Always want to say, I seen this video and started watching others and realized youtube's been recommending you for almost a year now. Is it just me or are Xenomorph tails in the movies portrayed super freaking long?? Way longer than the toys always show. It could just be the way they're filmed but it can't just be that. Something is up... I can't imagine any of the toys stabbing a human, let alone predator, from the back and turn their bodies to face it, akin Alien vs Predator. All the alien tails look way too short to have that sort of pose

I have the Neca figure pre-ordered from Big Bad, and I pre-ordered the Hot Toys. The neca is just to hold me over, but it looks great imo. It looks like their best Alien so far.

I’m pretty certain your theory on the Black Liquid is spot on. I think Romulus implied it, and I think Ridley was going for that explanation before he pivoted with Covenant.

I just found your channel and love it!! You do a Great job on the videos, so I am now subscribed to your channel! I have ten 1/4 ALIEN figures and three of them are from 1979. I have been working on the AGORA ALIEN MODEL and he will be four feet tall when done. Love the part with your new baby so cute! I have a big ALIEN collection and wanted to start a TH-cam channel but we'll see if that happens, Lol.

Dunno why they make warrior/drone xenomorphs digitigrade. They should only have legs like that if they come from digitigrade animals such as dogs or oxen, or if they are queens or sub-queens. Sub-queen it is then.

I really hope NECA can remake a more accurate Big Chap, like Mafex and Kotobukiya did.

Feel that heavily on qc issues for the Predators. Some are good and others just.. abysmal

I purchased 4 of them, one I have in hand, the other two have been shipped and on their way, ones coming by February. I plan to buy at least 6 of them for a stopmotion/ toy film I am working on. I’m sorry your figure had quality control issues, I went through the same thing with the Isolation Xenomorph, the left arm joint was so lose that it pretty much was dangling, it was a figure that has a lot of screen time in a video and it was more difficult to film with the Isolation Xeno than it was for the top heavy queen I had a few years back(which in and of itself was a nightmare to animate). Fortunately I had a few Big Chap figures in hand that were in better condition and used them to fill in for the more dynamic shots, I just filmed them from the torso up to cover up the differences in the legs. So far my NECA Romulus figures haven’t shown any issues, but I have 3 more on the way and I’ll definitely check for any quality issues.

I picked this up in a store today. I inspected the jaw and paint carefully before because Neca figures have lots of production errors but this one was perfect. I think it's an awesome Xenomorph. I also have the 1/4 40th anniversary Big Chap which I remember I had to exchange once because the jaw was crooked. I use the tail as the stand.

The warped mouth can be fixed , with blow dryer. If you do decide to pick up another one.

For anyone who bought theirs from entertainment earth, did yours come? I still haven’t gotten mine, it says it was pushed back to January (we ordered early November)

Am I the only one whose tail on this figure just tears and breaks apart? I was very careful with the tail once it began to tear and it didn’t prevent anything. My figure tail is torn in multiple places and the wire inside has snapped in two places.

What’s funny is I always get a wonky Xenomorph, my Covenant one has a funny leg that’s warped that makes it look like an Engineer or Predator kicked it and broke it, my Isolation one has two right legs at the knee but opposite ankles and feet, still a funny little feature, my Romulus one has a wonky right forearm. They’re all not bootlegs but offical ones, all being bought at release, I preordered the Romulus one as soon as it was announced. I personally like my Xenomorphs have some quirks, makes them kinda like me, not quite right lmao. The Romulus Xenomorph’s got to be one of my favourites Neca has ever done, it’s robust and a perfect portrayal of what we saw on screen. After this guy I might not collect anymore Aliens unless they finally release the ultimate remakes of the AVPR Warrior and Predalien. Edit, I actually have two of the same hand too, two curled ones at the bottom above the stand base. My one has a functional inner jaw, my Covenant Xenomorph had a stubborn inner jaw but I just wobbled it every now and then and eventually it came loose and functions as it’s supposed to.

Will you be picking up Hot Toys Romulus Xenomorph? Personally, I’m torn. I didn’t love the film but it’s the best articulated/most modern Xeno they’ve made to date and I love the franchise. It definitely isn’t the Big Chap 😢

I'm glad you decided to make this review even though you're moving on from Neca products. Your discerning and informative reviews of all things xenomorph are what initially caused me to subscribe to your channel, and I was curious what your take would be on this figure specifically. Much like yourself, I had some qc issues with my copy of this figure. The neck joint on mine was very loose and the head would flop around, and the jaw was warped. Upon further inspection (and dissection with a hair dryer to remove the head), I saw that the base of the head and neck joint were warped and not seated properly in the factory. This caused the top portion of the head to not sit flush with the lower half. Since two halves of the head are glued together incorrectly, there's only so much I could do to correct it. I'm not even bothering to get a replacement from the Neca store where I purchased it as that would be a hassle, so I'm just ordering one from Target's website and hoping that the new copy will be good enough to replace and return my defective copy there. Oh and I'm not sure if you would even bother at this point with yours, but my inner jaw was also stuck until I removed the head and was able to loosen it from the neck joint access underneath. Now it's loose af. I swear, collecting Neca has forced me to become a toy fixer/customizer against my will lol.

NECA and its quality control are more dangerous than a xenomorph.

I've got a few different lines made by NECA... And luckily I haven't had any major issues I could blame directly on them... But, I will say specifically with the Alien line, That's the one I've had the most problem with QC and breakages. I've been on the fence about this figure and after seeing this video I've jumped off the fence and kept my money in my pocket for something else. Thanks again for an extremely honest and informative review... Not to mention I always love your entertaining way of presenting your reviews... And your commentary amusingly spot on ;). While not strictly related to the Alien franchise, the Abara: Black Guana figures from Sentinel do seem inspired by it. They are from a fairly obscure (by western standards) manga series and look pretty fantastic.

I ended up cancelling mine when I saw the Hot Toys figure announced. Guess with that classic NECA quality control, Im not missing out on much (though to be fair, the only Hot Toys alien I know, the original Aliens Warrior, was the single most problematic figure Ive ever purchased, and is completely unable to stand on its own without being propped up on a Predator-themed soda can)

I preordered from the neca store and it came in earlier than any bbts preorder I’ve experienced. The jaw was misaligned on mine but I actually took a page from your hiya toys book and heated only the jaw up, then cooled it down once reshaped, so that’s what I have to say on that matter

I stopped collecting neca years ago. I got myself a jason from mezco One:12 one day, kept him on his own space, since he was smaller i thought he would look bad next to my neca slashers... Instead, once i put him next to the others, he made me realize how ugly 90% of neca figures were, how shinny, bad quality, and overall ugly they were. Replaced my freddy and pennywise with mezco and bought leatherface this year. Not a single qc issue, for reference, my freddy from neca had a balljoint that didn't fit his foot, bent claws, Michael Myers (2018) had a knife that broke, an arm that didn't fit, and my Freddy vs Jason's Jason had the loosest hips i have ever seen in a figure. Now I only keep my curry Pennywise and the Neca aliens. Most neca figures were so FULL of qc issues i couldn't sell them as they were, and put them where they belong: in the trash For my aliens, i have 2 ultimate big chaps, warrior, dog and deluxe newborn. Only my Dog Alien is free of qc issues
