Renault Clio 3 gearbox mount replacement
The gearbox mount/dog bone was badly worn on this Clio.
I sourced an aftermarket part online for £10 (including shipping).
Apologies for the view of the camera and my arms getting in the way at times, it was the best I could achieve.

BMW E65 track rod end replacement

This BMW 730d (E65) had a badly worn track rod end. I sourced an aftermarket replacement. It didn’t come with a new collar that locks it up on the steering arm, i reused the old one. As usual, the track rod end was seized. I applied some gentle heat, enough to get it freed off. I also put some heat on the nut to melt the nylon part as it wouldn’t come off. Corsa D anti roll bar drop link replacement

This Corsa D had a persistent knocking sound coming from the front near side. There was no obvious play in the steering arm/track rod end or bottom ball joint. Upon further inspection I noticed that there was play on the anti roll bar drop link when I levered against it with a bar. It was fairly straight forward to replace. I got a drop link from a motor factors for £10. Thanks for watching.

Corsa D heater motor resistor replacement

The heater motor in this 2011 Corsa only worked on the high setting. It’s a common problem for the resistor to fail. An aftermarket replacement was sourced and it was easy enough to change. The heater now works on all speeds. Thanks for watching.
Renault Clio MK 3 Drive belt replacement

The alternator in this Mk 3 Clio failed. It wasn’t charging the battery and then car came to a halt once the battery gave up. The dryer on my P38 was needing changed. I had a spare dryer and a service kit. Initially the cap wouldn’t come off by hand. The steering arms on this 2003 Mk6 Ford Transit were worn and needed replacing. The off side has quite a lot of play. The near side wasn’t as bad, this is the one that I replaced in the video. The window regulator cable snapped on the passenger side door (RHD). I managed to source an aftermarket part for about the quarter of the price of a genuine Audi part. Off camera I put more grease on the cables to give them a bit more protection. No doubt there is a better way to do this job but I had a go and managed to get it done and the window operating as it should again.

Excellent video. Just replaced a spring on my van and followed this video and it was a piece of cake. Didn’t even take the arch liner out as I didn’t need to replace the shock just undid the bottom bolt.
What size if the torx bit u used?

I know the original bolts are expensive at like 6 bucks a pop but i would rather spend 50 bucks on new bolts for the subframe than put some rusty shit on it, but thats just me. you do you, great work!
Fully agree, also they are one time use, coz subframe to body bolts should be torqued 90Nm + 45 angle + 15 angle, lower arm bolts should be torqed with suspension fully loaded and they also have a torque sequence.
What was the spark plug gap? 0.8 or 0.9mm?
I read up that 0.8-1mm is an exceptable range. Not sure if that is correct or not. I didn’t check these plugs, the car ran fine with them.
How much litres of oil it requires
4 litres, excluding the oil filter.
missed the torque specs for this also the carrier bolts are stretch bolts so can only be used once recipe for disaster like the other guy said

Hi, it’s a 1.2 engine.
Made the job easy. I have recently taken out both passenger side door locks. FOr the back one, you need to partially take out the window regulator to allown clearance for the lock to come out. FOr the front, n worries it slides right out!
Did you carry out any electrical tests before stripping down the door? Is it possible to determine if it's a motor problem before remving the door card. Thanks.
Hi, I didn’t do any electrical tests. I heard the cable snapping and making a grinding type noise when operating the switch. The front right window works intermittently on this car, I suspect it is the wiring loom that leads into the door that is at fault. I am hoping to do a video on this at some point in the near future. Thanks.
Many thanks for that. I can hear what seems to be the motor trying to work, so maybe it is the cable unravelling and jamming the gearing.

Quick question: I have to replace the alternator, but how do I know how much pressure I have to apply to the belt tensioner? i know thats most tensioner have some markers but i cant find any on this one
Hi, you want to get enough tension on the belt that will allow you to twist it slightly on the bottom. I done that in this video but it isn’t the best to see with the camera angle. Too slack and it’ll slip, too tight will cause premature wear or cause it to be noisy. Hope this helps and that you get it sorted. Thanks.

Hi, If you remove the motor from the regulator it should allow you to pull the window up. Sometimes the wires in the rubber conduit going into the door from the car body can break and stop the window from working, worth checking. Thanks.
