#30 Thermal Master P2 Pro review and comparison with FLIR One Pro
This is a review of Thermal Master P2 Pro and comparison with FLIR One Pro.
TL;DW: both cameras offer similar features, FLIR mobile app is easier to use (mostly), but TM has superior hardware. TM P2 Pro also has a lower price, so it provides a better value overall.
Both cameras are usable for home inspections, PCB inspections, some limited wildlife tracking, but don't expect very accurate temperature measurements from either one.
Some notes that did not make into video:
- TM app allows tracking high/low temperatures in a specific region of the screen
- TM uses the phone's battery while FLIR has its own built-in battery
- TM has AI resolution enhancement which is basically fancy interpolation
- FLIR allows adjusting how far the connector comes out of the camera
- Both cameras work with USB-C iPhones using the adapter
- Neither camera works with USBC-to-Lightning adapter while using the lightning extension cord
- Neither camera works while connected to a Mac.

#25 Fixing Lookee A2 blood pressure monitor to work with a USB-C cable
มุมมอง 14410 หลายเดือนก่อน
Out of the box this device only works with a usbA-usbC cable, because they're designed to provide 5V no matter what, however usbC-usbC cable that's up to spec and connected to a proper usbC power supply won't provide any voltage. To fix it, you have to add 5.1k pulldown resistors on CC1 and CC2 lines as per USB spec.

I wonder if there is a way to check for any static charge generated during the rapid action of that plunger? I read a warning about it in a highly rated electronics book [see page 115 of "How to diagnose and fix everything electronic" by Michael Jay Geier]. However, knowing the Japanese behind this most expensive sucker - they're probably all over that.
That’s the advantage of aluminum - it’s very conductive, so it doesn’t accumulate any static charge.
@@UNgineering Most of the brands are anodized aluminum though. That author swears it'll generate enough static to damage a MOSFET. I don't have an oscilloscope or I would try to record it creating a charge.
What kind of proffesional have I to be to do that work like for full time?
To do SMD soldering and microelectronics work in general, you could do laptop repair, similar to what Lous Rossmann started with. To mess around with things nobody asked like upgrading usb ports on raspberry pi’s, you’d want to work at a large electronics manufacturer in their R&D department, or do this as a hobby.
Thanks for dumbing it down for me as I am NOT computer literate. Just saved me $1000 as I was interested in their Bambu A1 or better for my company. NOT anymore. Thanks!!!
You can do acurate voltage ajust the knob on the right corner so put it at max and set your voltage and just ajust it
For some reason mine gets stuck a lot when pushing the hutton or when trying to push down the pump and it also gets clogged eaily. Ive tried cleaninging and servicing it but I have no clue how to
Thank you! This is the best argument I’ve heard to date regarding Bambu lab’s recent move.
I've watched a lot of videos about the Bambu Labs fiasco, and this one is by far the best. The arguments are solid and spot-on, addressing the real issue with Bambu Labs. Thanks for sharing.
There is a short version and a long version and the short version is not as easy to hold. It is also a little slippery to hold. I put a piece of heat shrink tubing around it that I roughened with sandpaper. The solder should not end up in the tubing but in the body. I should try shortening the tubing. The silicone tubing is genius. It's cheap, seems to last forever, and is easy to adjust or replace. Engineer has a few other products under the name "Vampire".
For anyone asking what are some alternatives to Bambu printers, here's a very good start: th-cam.com/video/sFHlmPDZkIA/w-d-xo.html He provides recommendations based on his extensive experience.
I was incredibly close in purchasing one of these in the sales at the end of last year. I had watched and researched for the past year. I had made my mind up to wait as I heard their new printers were coming out later in 2025. I feel terrible for so many of you that are stuck in this position. Questions is any suggestions for any other brands that you could suggest for a starter that’s easy to or already assembled ? Thanks
I just pinned my comment linking a video with some recommendations. He has way more experience than I do.
2 years ago I bought an HP Inkjet Printer. I was a bit surprised that they required an online component to starting and connecting it... then I found that it would not accept 3rd party inks... and you had to subscribe to an "INK service" to get HP inks, which they sent to you at regular 3 m onth intervals... and you had to pay for each set. (I use the printer maybe 2x a month (home) So, after 3 months my inks were about 15% used so no new inks needed. After 4 months I sent them a cancellation notice and threw the printer away. It took them 9 months to stop billing me, during which time I received no inks but regular bills for inks they never sent. I live in New Zealand, so I threatened to take them to court with the NZ Consumer Protection act. They stopped within 2 days at that point. Fark those a-holes. Needless to say I will never EVER buy HP of any type ever again. They used to make good computer equipment but, since buying Dell out, they onlymanufacture 3rd rate Shite with 4th rate software. (Just try to use the HP printer software... it takes a farking contortionist to work out the logic in it...) I replaced the HP with a Canon Inkjet that cost less and woorks 200% better. I don't own a Bambu Lab, but was considering it seriousl;y until this blew up... Instead I will keep my Neptune 4Plus. No online component needed or necessary.
Sadly as far as I can tell the tipping point (across all industries; I’m not in the 3d printing space) has been reached. Everything is too interconnected at this point for customer outrage, or even a fairly effective boycott of any one single company, to actually dig us out of this hole. I wish I had any takeaway beyond “we’re all pretty much fucked” but my little brain can’t see a solution; the tide is too strong.
Thank you! I ended up getting the SS-03 model. I'm very happy, finally, after four decades of never really being able to de-solder effectively.
I have a bunch of Bambu printers and I have NOT been affected at all. I print what i want when i want. Your talking about something the could happen to any electronic product, even Prusa. Funny, I have the exact candle lighter...it horrible.
Im lost now was just gonna buy the a1 combo after been looking around for ages and finally deciding on bambu lab a1. Whats the best alternative to the a1 now
I'm here to help out anyone looking to off load their X1C printers cheap
Well done. This might be the most rational and reasonable video on this subject.
I hate mine. The lack of plunger guard makes it very annoying to use
As far as Bambu goes, People have already found ways to get around it and put something similar to Octoprint on it while doing what it used to before. It won't have any special updates anymore if you do so except for the Python script you flashed itself but that's it. But now that this is a thing, I will disconnect my printer from the internet for good (even if I have to remove the wireless chip on the printer board to guarantee that) and just use Micro SD until I get that system flashed to work on octoprint or something else more relevant to bambu printers. I haven't updated the firmware in a while so at least I'm running older firmware. Next printer I ever get will be a voron kit. They look cooler, open source, YOU put the entire thing together and by doing so, If something goes wrong down the line, It will be easier to diagnose and fix. Plus, I can just be a script kitty for stuff I don't fully understand (github) and add WHATEVER functionality I want on a voron. If I were to learn script writing, I could make it do ANYTHING I wanted. The possibilities are endless with non-proprietary systems.
Love how real this review is! Honestly, P2 Pro is such a steal for the price. Yeah, it’s got some quirks, but the good stuff makes up for it. If they can smooth out the software, it’d be next level!
10:35 NOTE: I made a mistake with the price, it's $200-$250 instead of $300-350.
This reminds me of what John Deere is doing when it comes to RTR (Right To Repair). They want total control. We have to stand up like the farmers are doing to let them know we will not tolerate this behavior towards consumers.
I bought x1c myseld last november during black friday sale. I spent like all night tryin to figure how how block both studio and x1c from web but i did not want my system to turn into brick
All the electronic shite that you own is one update away from becoming "theirs". So is all your software. The trick is to know when to stop updating.
You’ll own nothing and bambu lab will be happy
Excellent video! Covered the topics and conveyed ideas way better than some if the biger channels and creators out there!
Everyones know who caused it (Luigi Mangioni). It was "ok" until one of the masses, came aftet them the deep state. It was "ok" for felons to print and sliding in chicago. But the minute it reached them the elites got spooked. Dont try to bring other theories. You allready knows this is the only "conspiracy theory" youll ever need
im just disappointed it did not fall under Creality ..... on trustpilot and that they did not do this 6 months ago - so i would not buy their printer. Now i can only do damage control.
If you own an iphone, you have been supporting and enabling this type behavior.
the thing is that most smartphone users are much more casual users who wouldn't even think about something like repairing their own phone or caring about a headphone jack. the thing about people who own 3d printers are much more technically informed and will likely give Bambu hell and I sure hope they do because I wan to buy a Bambu, but I won't until they fix this shit. I might even get a Prusa or a fucking CREALITY of all things.
I can understand the appeal of wanting to buy a Bambu Lab printer for the print quality, but at this point would I not even trust any of their printers IF they provide them in a state where they'd work offline out of the box. They could still put a timebomb in the firmware that breaks the thing by letting it do something stupid, like ignoring a limit switch or thermal sensor, and then blame you afterwards because you didn't update it since you bought it. I think that once a company stops seeing you as a "customer" and treats you like a "hostage" instead, you have only two options: drop them entirely or accept it (which you should NOT). If they get a sliver of forgiveness for that behaviour, they will only learn that they can get away with it if they make the right amendments. And so will others. Like the mentioned headphone jacks.
@@BloodyMobile at least with the headphone jack removal we got tangible benefits like water resistance, battery size, and overall reliability and performance is better, but with Bambu, they basically said "we can brick and restrict your physical printer if we want to" and tbh what security is this really improving?
I might replace the board on the printer if I get one
This is why Prusa has always been number one in my book !
Well well! Who’d have thought that a Chinese Company would want to take control and have more access and data from you 🤨! Other printer marketing and promotion teams should be working overtime now 🤔! However, as you say if this does not meet resistance; other manufacturers will follow suit.
How about telling Government you are printing something "Suspicious"
Crapality has same ethos.
Well said mate. Pretty much whole heartedly agree.
I have hope that Josef Prusa has the balls to resist industry trends that screw consumers.
Yes, the EU has been heading down the same road as China lately.
I agree with you on the 'What bambulab did is not OK, even with the backpedalling'... But i don't agree it's new and establish a dangerous precedent: it's to late for that, there has been a huuuuge number of such precedents, basically since OTA updates exists... Smart TV removing functionality.... Check Gaming console removing functionally? Recheck (ps3 linux anyone?) Cars removing functionality? Re re check again (android auto removing touch navigation when moving, for security and no one care the passenger could have been the one using it? ). Frankly, the occurrences of such nasty behavior are do numerous it's not even track able at this point. Bambu is just a little bit special because of their problematic relation with open source and because their customers are markers, which is a tough sell when trying to remove functionality, regardless of all whiny whiny security scarespeak that is the norm when a company (or government) try to scam it's users (citizens)... I guess if enough people realize how this is manipulation-101 it may stop... Our at least slow down. In general I have no hope, in the market community maybe, we will see...
Agreeeddd!!!!
What is the thing with the gooseneck you are working on?
Ive been wanting to give my take on this since it started days ago, but life has got in the way. But basically, yeah. People shouldn't accept, or eorse embrace, being locked in to be milked as dry as theyre shafted. Companies exist to make money. Not to be our best friends, or relationship substitute. If Bambu determines it can make more money by being a dick than by playing nice, it's going to be a dick. If we let it.
It should also be noted that, community-wide, this creates a culture of bad faith and the worst kind of socialism/fascism/elitism. The move from "The customer is always right." and "Corporations exist to serve their customers." to "You'll own what we say you own, when we say you own it because the law is on our side." Vertical integration isn't a/the problem, the abandonment of Enlightenment Era ethos and transparency is. One bad corporation is one thing, many leading corporations across virtually all of modern tech... that's very much not a good thing.
epson does the same shit after so many prints your printer stops and it needs to me sent in
This is too quiet
At least Prusa dont do any shady shit
Including chargers actually became illegal in EU, that was not shrinkflation.. But i get what you mean.
But how to communicate this to people that are the fan boys. Which will allow this to happen and ruin it for the majority of people like us.
There is going to a subset of people who just won't listen. Always is. All you can do is make it clear and point out that you tried to help them when it was possible to help. Now they are stuck. Sucks, but remember this next time we try to warn you.
Building a Voron became a whole lot less intimidating recently...
I bought an X1 Carbon at the beginning of last year. It has been an awesome printer, though a pain at times. This has been a kick in the guts. I guess for me it's a keep using it (or trying to) and see where this heads. Buying another printer isn't on the cards right now. And it's mostly a hobby anyway. I'm not a gambler, I always lose, but I'd bet money on the direction this company is going in will end up at the inevitable subscription model.
Removing excessive amount of phone chargers was right t do.
