Ah, a cheery air for a change. Nice one. Problem, though. The bog flower photo only appears in the thumbnail in the sidebar. It doesn't show when the video is playing, at least not on my computer. (Maybe it is my computer. it's old and rather moody.) But at least we can see you and hear the music, and that suffices.
Oh, I actually only used it on the thumbnail. I’ve never thought about leaving the photo in the video itself, it might be interesting to try that!

Another fine Irish air as usual, but may I ask a personal question? Your name suggests you're Russian (or at least come from one of the Slavic countries.) You speak and write English better than most native English speakers. Now you say you live in the Basque country. How many languages do you speak fluently?
Thank you! Learning languages is an old hobby of mine. I am using English, Russian and Spanish on a daily basis, and I’d say that I am close to becoming fluent in Basque, although for that I’d need quite a bit of speaking practice. I used to speak Dutch when I lived in the Netherlands, but it is now in disuse so I don’t think I would be able to make a coherent sentence. Maybe understand some.
Well, I liked it, but I don't know whether it was because you used a different kind of instrumentation. That's because I'm an ignoramus who isn't quite sure what 'a different kind of instrumentation' means. Does it refer to the backing track?

Beautiful music, Elena! I'm an amateur cellist. Just wondering--where do you get the accompaniment? And are you transcribing fiddle music to bass and tenor clef?
Thank you! Yes, I am transposing treble clef music in most cases just lowering it one octave. As for the accompaniment, I write it myself. Hope this helps!

Have you played the violin before? Although, curiously, I know people who have the same problem and have never played the violin.
@@ElenaKoptevaCello I played violin for a few years before falling out of the habit of practicing. I decided to give cello a try but I still have violin muscle memory so it's tough sometimes

I really love how mournful this sounds. It reminds me a bit of another Irish fiddle tune called Death and the Sinner.

This was awesome, I love this kind of music. I have a cello on the way, this is definitely an inspiration to learn. Was this transcribed from a fiddle tune?
Thank you, that’s great to hear! It is originally written in treble clef, so what I usually do is just play everything one octave lower transposing as I play. So where I am looking at is actually a treble clef score (O’Neill’s music of Ireland). I believe the tune can be played either on a violin or, for example, a flute, since there is no specific recommendation for an instrument in the score per se. Hope that makes sense :)

I think it was a good idea to take a break from the Gaelic pieces (maybe temporarily?) and add to the international flavour. This was very lovely and splendidly played played in baroque spirit. I enjoyed it very much.
