    This is becoming my favorite pedal channel. All the other channels I watch have slowly turned into infomercials over the years. They always start off making videos about pedals they love. Once they get really popular they always transition into making commercials for companies that send them free pedals. I understand that people need to make a living. I do enjoy a good commercial when it's made clear that it's a paid promotion. Still, nothing beats a raw honest demo made by someone who personally owns & uses the pedal.

    • @PedalsandTea
      @PedalsandTea 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@nicholasrella6904 hey man, thanks that means so much! Most of the Pedals I review I bought with my own money. From time to time I do get sent a pedal (that I contacted the builder for), but that's usually stuff I would have bought myself either way (if I could afford it, 4-6 reviews/pedals per month is not something that I could financially uphold for an extended time). But in those cases I disclose that and do an honest review as well, there's no agreement for me to say anything but my honest opinion, also there's no money changing hands. That being said, this channel has helped me build great relationships and friendships in the guitar community and -industry that I am super thankful for. As a general rule, if there's a pedal that I think is bad (especially regarding build quality and sound. Visuals are super subjective of course), I'm simply not gonna review it. This channel is a bit of a tone searching journal for me, too. So no point in documenting the non-inspiring things :) Thanks so much for the kind words 👍

    Good demo of an often forgotten pedal these days! I like some of my more traditional muffs, but I keep coming back to the Pharaoh. I got one from BAT that swapped the germanium with a different diode that has less compression and more crunch and it’s really mean. It’s surprisingly versatile for such a high gain fuzz. @@KeithShelley1 Thanks man :) i have them set pretty flat with a little bass and treble boost on the '74 and a bit more treble/bass boost on the '78 (and a little bit of presence boost on the '78 as well). That being said, no two amps are the same, there's always gonna be differences in component values. Not to mention the huge influence your cab and speakers have. I run a Hiwatt 212 with Fane Medusa 150 (the IR I use to record is pretty close to that). But i did a side by side comparison with 4 other cabs with different speakers and the differences were huge. Generally, with Hiwatts I recommend dark speakers like Fanes or Swamp Thangs. Even with EVM12L which are not super bright it was pretty punishing

      @@PedalsandTea Spaceman fuzzes have their own unique feel. The scooped sounds kind of remind me of a muff. A lot of people seem to think there's some early Tonebender in the Sputnik's DNA. It's definitely not a Fuzz Face. I'm really not sure. It could be a totally unique circuit if that's even possible. I don't know much about circuits & technical stuff. I'm just a guy that loves to play & collect pedals. I always associate Sputnik with Russian Muffs because of the Russian name & its ability to Doom like no other. I use Sputnik to play songs that would usually call for a green Russian & it sounds amazing. I love it for Matt Pike stuff. I don't really use it to replicate a muff. The original is hard to find and pricey. I have an Orion Reverb which is cool because I always wanted to build an all analog pedalboard & there are hardly any analog reverb pedals. The Explorer is the best sounding phaser I've played. I haven't tried the Meridian or the flanger or the eq or compressor.
