Since Starlink was added we e had great internet on board those ships, even in a trans-Pacific, but definitely wouldn’t buy if no Starlink. Have you tried Starlink?

We’ve decided not to try Virgin yet due to their rates being quite high. If we come upon a great deal though, we’ll try! After this series of cruises, we’ll be in the Mediterranean and I’ve heard Virgin has better prices over there so that’s an option too. We’d definitely like to! Regarding the OBC, Google “shareholders credit [name of the cruise line]” to find their redemption instructions. Each line is a little different even if owned by the same company….ie Princess has different contact info than Holland America. You usually email or mail in proof of your stock ownership with the info on your upcoming cruise per their instructions and they’ll let you know when they’ve applied the OBC. The amount varies by the length of the cruise. In my experience it takes a month or less to get a response and then it will just appear on your account for that sailing as OBC. I always keep a copy of their confirmation and my proof just in case. Note that on CCL stock, for example, the program is effective from annual shareholders meeting in about July for a year then they renew it and repost with a new date. So for our October cruise I need to wait and apply in early September or so. Otherwise, they’ve issued it like 6 months ahead of sailing date if requested.

I’m taking the 51 day South America on Majestic, too. Last year, I was on Majestic from Vancouver-Alaska-Vancouver-La-down to the Australia-Fuji-south pacific-Australia, total 56 days, that was unforgettable Journey, especially the day we missed the port Tauranga.

Congrats on 10 years! There is no such thing as a perfect cruise….every cruise is what you make of it. And in fact, yours could be different if they have a better food service staff. Any free cruise is a good cruise and Japan will be amazing. As we concluded, we would do it all again just to go to the Conflict Islands again. If you go into it with lower expectations you’ll probably love it! Definitely some good things too!

@CruiseThroughRetirement SO this will be our 7th Carnival cruise. All of them have been on Spirit class ships. So we have a pretty good idea of what the level of standards are for Carnival's smaller ships. As long as this ship gets even close to that bar, we'll be more than happy. Also I've found that any issue can be solved on a Carnival ship, with a soft voice, gentle touch, and amazing crew. :)
