And divisibilty is one of silvers biggest strengths. Lets talk about the pros and cons of owning large silver bullion bars like 1 kilo and 100 oz.

      That makes sense, although if you're planning to play with metals on the multiple hundred thousand dollar scale, gold would be much kinder to your back! For the same money you're talking about the difference between what one man can carry by himself in a compact box vs needing a forklift to transfer the metal.

    I still buy 100 oz silver bars. My local bullion dealer sells it at 6.4 percent above spot and buys it at 2.9 percent below spot. 10 oz bars are selling at 10.4 percent above spot and buying at 1.2 percent below. Dealer buys back any size legit bars, no questions asked. So buying 100 oz bars works for me.😊

    Divisibility is the main factor. I too stay with the smaller sizes. Fractional gold is okay, but the premiums tend to be quite a bit higher on fractional gold. In a pinch if you needed a $1000, it's easier to sell the 3-4 10oz bars than it would be with the bigger bars. The bigger bars would be way more than you need at the time. I've even had a few coins shops tell me they weren't buying them at the time because they are harder to sell.

    Hey, 4NinesFine! This was the first video of yours I've ever seen. I was impressed. I also 100% agree with your reasoning on this topic. I'd be lying, though, if I didn't admit that I would like to own just one example of each of those sizes you discussed from the Scottsdale Mint. Just one of each. Maybe two of the kit Kat bars! 🤣 I like to stack 10 toz bars and 1 toz rounds for the majority of my stack. Something tantalizing about owning one big chunk of metal, though. If I ever do aquire any large bars, they'd be ear marked for handing down to my children, so they'd go into the deep stack or permastack as @SilverSeeker likes to say. Thanks for the great video! Storage and moving kilo bars is no more difficult than storing and moving the same amount of 1oz rounds. Hell, it's actually easier. A kilo bar is smaller than a paperback book, albeit heavier. A 100oz bar weighs less than a gallon of milk, again, not that difficult to move around. Yes, an equivalent value of gold IS much easier to move and store. As far as divisibility goes, how much divisibility do you need? Setting aside a SHTF scenario, what conceivable scenario is there where you would need to exercise that divisibility more than a dozen times or so before you can reset? My brother worked as a bartender in Vegas for more than a decade, he had tens of thousands of DOLLAR BILLS pass through his hands as tips. He didn't KEEP it in dollar bills, but he always kept SOME dollar bills on hand. Silver and gold are the same. Build a "denomination/weight pyramid", with some amount of the low denomination/weight stuff, then once you've got that, stack higher weights, and then higher. The main reason for doing so is simply the cost savings on premium. If you can get your 1oz generic bar of choice for the same premium as bigger bars, then sure, there's little reason not to get the 1oz. Once you get past 250oz, maybe even only 100oz of 1oz silver, going up and stacking primarily 10oz makes sense. Once you get past 100oz in 10oz bars, i.e. 10 bars, then it seems like kilos make just as much sense and cost a smidge less. I offer the previous simply as a counterpoint to the handling/storage and divisibility issues raised in the video. All y'all readers, stack as you want, they're your stacks, not mine. Full Disclosure: My stack is currently much more heavily weighted to 1oz, largely because I've leaned into sovereign coins pretty hard. That said, I'm well past the being concerned about having to sell a bigger chunk of silver than necessary because I don't have anything smaller. Hell, less than 15% of my stack is larger than 2oz. That's largely why my 2025 plan consists of a kilo, a 3-5 10oz bars, and about 25 1oz coins.

    A 100 ounce bar is just as heavy as 100 one ounce rounds. Your weight argument is a strawman. No one accepts silver or gold as tender for transactions. No McDonalds will EVER accept your bullion for payment. No Walmart will EVER accept your silver or gold for payment. As is EVER. As much as you misleading "creators" want to paint fiat money as unsustainable, silver and gold will never again be currency. As is EVER. If it's not a fiat dollar, it will be a digital dollar. Silver is NOT a hedge against inflation, and it is NOT a protection against collapsing currency. Anyone still telling this lie, after seeing inflation for three year and seeing the LOW price of silver, and can't see that, is a blooming idiot. You deserve to lose whatever wealth you thought you were protecting. All these videos' are is HYPE. Hype the channel owners use to make money off the ignorance of viewers. If foolish people want to keep stacking, great for them. Then only person making money is the dealer off premiums and below spot buy backs when the stacker is strapped for cash. Those that will inherit your "stack" are going to take whatever some dealer offers them when you are dead (and it WILL be a bargain for the dealer). Only the stacker is emotionally attached to their stack. No one else gives a sheet. Me, I'm done with the silver rollercoaster. I'll take 4.5-20% consistent gains every year. You guy can keep buying your "investment" that costs you 10-20% to buy into it, and up to 20% to get out of it. Only a idiot would think that losing 20-40% of your investment is "smart".

  • @silversleuth007

    Good topic. TY. I have steered away from large denomination PMs for the past 30+ years. I opted for SAE monster box versus 5 one-hundred-ounce bars for specific reasons OTHER than any "premium" saved. I ran into a couple perth kilo coins that I couldn't resist, a good time ago, but that was at a fraction of today's pricing. Actually, I traded the Kook Kilo laterally, ounce to ounce, spot to spot, at a coin show last month. But that 2000 Dragon Kilo is just TOO pretty to part with. I believe, though, that depending on someone's size of stack foundation of more liquid sizes, BIG bars and/or coins are a good idea to save on premiums in 2025 and beyond. I, also, think that someone's age can come into play on a decision like that. I am old now, and my stacking strategy has changed for the next 5 years. LARGE bars are not in my future plans. I would imagine, though, that many new stackers on a limited budget would avoid kilos and 100 ounce bars based on available excess cash flow that they might consider as disposable income. Just my 2 cents, which adjusted by inflation is worth 1/1000th of a grain of salt.🙂

  • @tomtharos4440
    @tomtharos4440 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I agree. I might buy a kilo someday, paint it black, and use it as a doorstop, just because I can. My worry about kilos, 50 and 100 oz bars is liquidity. Especially since I plan to pass most to my children who wouldn’t know what to do with a 100 oz bar. If I’m in the 10 oz silver bar price range, it’s usually pretty close to a 1/10 oz gold American Eagle, which is a lot easier to sell, at least in the area where I live.

    I just bought my first ten ounce bar for my stack and soon will receive my second. And I truly think a ten ounce is the perfect size for normal buyers. 100 ounce bars are better for people who have huge vaults or safes with space lol. But 10 ounce and killo bars are as big as I will go personally. I think for everyday stackers a killo should be the max size stackers should buy regularly. But then again that’s just an opinion everyone has different needs or purposes. I personally would stack kilos but I’d like to have a few hundred one ounce bars or coins. Before I regularly buy kilo bars or 100 ounce bars. But in that specific circumstance I’ll like to have my 1 ounce silver and gold stack way up before I get to that level.

    Personally, I don't even go for the 10 oz size, but I do have a few. I stick to 1 and 2 oz rounds and 1 to 5 oz bars. Full disclosure I do have a 100 oz RCM bar. I bought for the wow factor/ toy thinking. The heart goes pitter patter when I have that bar in my hand, not practical but a practical life is a boring life.

    I wouldn't stack 100oz bars, but I think that they should be a goal for stackers. Eventually get one, it will be your masterpiece.

      I’d prefer to buy a 1 ounce gold Buffalo for that price!
