@@NyashaNeshumba learn the skills required and start talking to the cyber professionals and see what they did you get into that role and copy what they did
Currently, I have been engaged in the network industry for more than 4 years. I mainly focus on the establishment and maintenance of enterprise networks. I basically create IP network segments on core switches, allocate DHCP address pools, and divide VLANs. These basic tasks involve routing, most of which are static routing. Although ospf and other Routing protocols can also be used, but they are rarely used. Firewalls, network access systems, and commonly used security equipment are also often used. It still depends on the environment. There is not much to learn in small business networks, and large networks such as data centers have not yet Have been exposed to, such as SDN or cloud network
people seem to forget that our entire infrastructure is just a gigantic network. but what about cloud computing? 😅just a bunch of computers glue together "networking"
Networking is not dead and won't be because connectivity is always needed be it Cloud or on-prem. However, Networking is no longer influential except you're working with an ISP. Network analysts in enterprises are just at the background while the other IT roles such as security, data science, and cloud are prominent because they provide more visible projects that senior execs see and appreciate. Gone are the days when routing, switching, and wireless technologies were evolving from slow technologies. No one is using modems and not many enterprises have big enough datacenters to deploy spine/leaf technology. So in a nutshell, if you're comfortable being in the background and dealing with sometimes annoying support tickets that may not even have anything to do with network fault, then go for it. But if you want more visibility and value, and have more projects to work on, then avoid networking, as it's treated as mundane. You don't have to be in networking to understand basic routing and switching of packets.
Is there a ton of remote positions that allow me (American) to work remotely from abroad? As in, there are no location restrictions. Im fine being a long-term contractor

Sir i am from mechanical engineering background I want make my career as as network engineer. I have completed my engineer degree from GCET Jammu in 2022. I am currently learning ccna ccnp firewall from network kings is enough to get my first job in this field as a fresher no experience
Internet is just a shorthand for the internetwork. The internet is, in short, a network of networks. And the cloud? It’s not something that just magically hosts all your services, it’s a data center, composed of servers, switches, routers, the whole lot of it. Whether you directly or indirectly work on it, your going to be networking regardless. Not to mention ISPs and the sheer amount of routing going on within their backbone for shit to get where it needs to be.
Is Comptia network + equivalent to CCNA?
@@tobias_gray no CCNA IS WAY BETTER
Thinking of going to WGU but should I do the Networking & Security or Cloud Computing program? My goal would be to be like a cloud analyst in the future... but I hear it's good to start with networking fundamentals then study cloud. Thoughts?
For 3 years of my life I was demon oppressed. Nothing could get it out until Jesus Christ removed multiple demons from me. It’s people reading this that could be dealing with demonic oppression and things that they know aren’t natural . Jesus Christ is the way and the healer and the fixer of all our life. Jesus gives Life. I called out to other gods and nothing took it away until I called out to Jesus and he gave me an encounter with Him and His Spirit. He is the only way. I see demons casted out of people, the sick healed, and now the LORD has blessed me to start doing deliverances. Honestly, its real even if we want to believe it or not. God bless you all if any of you are going through anything look up the RROC deliverances with Richard Lorenzo Jr and he does mass dileverances over youtube on thursdays. You will feel the Holy Spirit! Repent, it will set you free. Jesus is real and the Son of God, Son of man, and God the Son! Hallelujah and God Bless you all in Jesus name. If your wondering why theres still no peace as far as you go and as high as you seek its because the peace and fulfillment your looking for only comes from God! We’re lucky because that peace we’re looking for God wants to give to us! And He given His Word to us to show you how to get to Him and receive His peace. And that peace is Jesus Christ. God bless you all and I pray I can inspire some faith in one of you today and show you the God who leads us out of brokenness and darkness! Amen!

I am an internainonal student pursue my master's degree in network administration and cybersecurity. my interest area is network engineering. Now my question is what are the chances of me getting job after my degree and do you give any advice to me about that ? Thank you.
what do u think about freelancing in Networking
I'm currently studying Cybersecurity, I'm expected to finish my AS next December and I plan to pursue a BAS. I recently passed a few certs to get started, ITF+, A+, Network+ and Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate. Next semester I'm taking couple of classes to prepare for the CCNA and Security+. I'm hoping to get an entry-level job soon on something related to IT but no luck yet.
I started studying the CCNA in April of 2022. Even took a break in July and went back in. Finished in October 2022. Used Jeremy’s IT Lab. Did not take the test until December 2023. Big gap right? Good reason for it. Never felt I was ready to take the test. I went through his lessons twice. I redid labs and also did the boson labs, twice. Did all the practice tests as well. I wanted to have thorough understanding of the theory of what I was learning. People try to rush through this and find it extremely difficult.
(I’m not good in English) I’m transitioning from network eng to cloud(aws) eng. Even i got ccna since 2018. Or Even my current daily tasks are f5 gtm/ltm, paloalto policy, nat, pbf, wireless, routing, switching, cloudflare dns and so on. I dedicated since the beginning of this year to train aws solution architect associate. I passed and got the cert last month. And try to gain hands on experience. So, I submitted my resume for cloud/devops about 10-20 companies but no luck Most of them require python, some coding, terraform iac, ansible, microservices, docker, k8s, open sources and so on. No one get back to me for cloud/devops. However, many companies call me for network or network&security engineer. I confused which way should i go. Go to network&sec eng to gain more salary and then transfer after that. Or wait and get more exp/their(JD in cloud role) requirement skills and try to submit to cloud regularly I’m 31.
Hello, I am currently a college student that is majoring in cybersecurity and my curriculum includes classes for ccna 1 and 2. My main concern is that since I have little to no background currently, should I stick to cybersecurity or change my major to networking. Since I have read multiple threads stating that you need fundamental knowledge and background in networking to be successful in cybersecurity. Any advice would be appreciated

Hi Wali! This is my first time seeing your videos and I really appreciated you bringing up the fact that people who are interested in cybersecurity need knowledge in multiple areas of IT. I am interested in Network Security, so I am learning and studying for my CCNA. I am excited to hear your point of view about networking in your other and upcoming videos!

Yo! Love your videos, speaking from a Cybersecurity standpoint, the CISSP is actually not a good security certification to get, especially if you have no direct Cybersecurity experience. It's mainly geared towards management positions or CISO position. You learn alot of topics but they only go an inch deep. I'm a Senior Security Engineer for Oracle. None of my technical colleagues have the CISSP just management.
@@ToneVidaaaaaa interesting I was the told cissp is more of a wall to get passed hr in cyber but I always knew cissp doesn’t really give you the required skills but more of overview. What cert do think offers best ROI in your field?
@NetworkWali it's a wall to get past HR filters for recruiters who have no knowledge of the position they are recruiting for. Example, I've seen SOC Analyst positions with 2 years of experience asking for a CISSP 🤔. That alone makes no sense because you need 5 years of experience to even claim the CISSP, 2nd the CISSP has nothing to do with SOC positions. Depending on the position you are looking to get into, the Cysa+ is actually pretty good to start with. Getting your PCNSE will help for security engineer positions. But overall it depends on the role! Getting experience with any top SIEM and EDR solution will be more valuable than a CISSP. Basically Cybersecurity is such a broad field, it helps when you know exactly where you wanna go. If you have the funds, GIAC certifications are highly sought in the security sector, but the training is super $$$$.
Thanks for your insights and questions. Which roadmap you would recommend for network security and cybersecurity? I appreciate your help since you’re cybersecurity? Thanks 🙏
I always look forward to seeing your videos. Keep up the good work broski

I currently work as a desktop support tech and have been in the field for about three months. I got my A+ and a bachelor's degree in IT. I plan on taking the network + in about two weeks and then I'm gonna tackle the CCNA. My long term goal is to be a network engineer. Im just grateful that I got a role in the field to build the work experience on my resume and do something I love for a career. Keep striving everyone!
@@Valor7464 that’s a phenomenal plan keep it up and you’ll get there!
why not skip net+ and just get your ccna? All the info is in the ccna just more broad. I just got my ccna 3 weeks ago and I’m a network admin for a private school
@@RealNetworkP I felt like I wanted some foundational knowledge first. Plus it doesn't hurt anything having both. Also didn't really help that I was undecided on whether i wanted to go the networking route or cybersecurity route for my career just a few months ago.
Skip the Net+. If you want the foundation go through objectives and ExamCram book then go after CCNA. You want to be Network Engineer you’re more than likely to work with Cisco proprietary devices.
@NetworkWali do you plan to make a video on the network engineer vs network security engineer?
I recently started networking basic courses. People are like, theres no scope of this field. Is it true. Pls guide. Im very confused what to do after getting a degree.
I feel like the Cisco press books are a great source for the Cisco exam preparation. I’m in the military so the certifications don’t really help me much but I’ve done the studying for the exams over the years. I’ve used Jeremy, network lessons, Todd lammle books but I’ve definitely learned the most with Wendell Odom’s certification guide. He breaks everything down into parts and does an exceptional job at explaining things and he gets more details than the others it seems for me. I feel like books are good. I like them because you gotta actually read and understand the information presented and if you don’t quite grasp it then using videos helps drive the certain topic home. Then the final method is definitely labs
Hey beside giving knowledge from your experiences I think you should teach some important topics on TH-cam because I think that's what more benecial for us😊
