@davidfriars I was on Tjm metal works and your web site and looking for the bag you put the tri pod in, can you give me info on that bag
I clicked on this TH-cam suggestion for the equipment you are using. I LIKE the TJ Metalworks and the Outhaus items.
You have a very nice set up ! Looking forward to enjoying your camping 👊🔥👍
I've really come to appreciate your videos David. Great material for faded boy scouts like me. Good photography and a refreshingly honest, "Warts and all" approach. Keep at it, recognition will come. Thanks, Paul
Thank you Paul for your kind words it means a lot, what you see on the camera is me enjoying the outdoors. 👍
Dave, question. On the TJM website the 2 firepits advertised are round. Where do I find the square one shown here? Paul
Hi Paul, since this video the stove have moved on and TJM are using the round stove now as it was getting to complicated with aqua and round stove so he gone with round. They work great. Check out the BBQ 50 and BBQ 35.
@@davidfriars Thanks Dave, I've been humming and haring over this for months. Finally Bit the bullet and went for the BBQ 50. Big outlay for me but it'll be great for family get togethers.😋
They are great I am been using the BBQ 50 in the garden the last few days and it works great 👍.
I watch how easy it is to push poles into the ground. Where I live is rocks and roots!
What a fantastic kit….that table is great!! 🎯Thank you for sharing your time. I really enjoyed it. Your pack is beautiful as well…new subscriber after watching💥💥I’m headed over to check out a Bergen!!
Well great video love watching them but only thing is my bank balance is down a bit finally baught the cook set up you have here just waiting on it to arrive this week
Hi Gary, totally understand about bank balance lol 😂, they are a great fire stove setup and will last you for years. 👍
@@davidfriars can’t wait for it to arrive I panicked after I paid for it as never changed my address on PayPal and a lovely lady at your end called me back and got my address all sorted out is it your self that makes all the stuff
Where did you get that metal wind deflector? Cheers from Western Australia 🇦🇺👌🏽
I don’t see the point of this jerben bag if you are going walking or / and camping . Why would you need it ? A bog standard poncho would do the job with your usual layering beneath.
Nice film Dave…hopefully say hello on the Saturday 👍
I use his stuff all the time, definitely the best stuff out there, the BBQ 50 is amazing
Hi I went for the insulated large version as I wanted to use it for many other tasks not just as a survival cover, so yes it was more money but for me the best option and I went for the large version as I am 6 foot 3 so I got the coverage.
love this video really enjoyed the scenery and how you explain almost everything
Thank you for the nice comment I appreciate it when the videos are enjoyed. 👍
Great share that. Like the hammock too, what make and size is it please?
Great video! What Jerven would you recommend? Most videos are about the original, I suspect because it is the cheapest, but it does not cover your body fully. However, I suspect this size is better for regular use, while original is for survival as it is smaller and lighter. Thanks
Excellent content as always
Thanks mate 👍
Nice vid mate. Hope to catch up at the show 👍
Hi mate yes looking forward to the show see you there. 👍
nice video mate, the woodlands looking lush 🕊🕊
Thank Tim, the woods are lovely at the moment 👍
Oooh david we could be neighbours at the show 😀 😄 well ya wont have to travel far for a friendly beer 🔥🍺👍
lol 😂 mate looking forward to it 👍
Great video dude 🔥 looking forward to having a chat with you at the bushcraft show 👍
Nice video
Thanks Paul 👍
I wish you had shown how to do a high tarp set up…I’m 5’3” and would like to be able to have a set up that my husband could fit under- yes he usually does the set up cause he’s taller and can reach - but I would like to be able to do it myself (without having to carry a stepladder)
Hi, have a look at some of my other videos as I have shown how to setup tarps or do a search on TH-cam. It always good to know how to setup a tarp 👍
I enjoy a lot your videos, and really like the fear you use. I would like to watch a review of the swag Palmerston 1500. Could it be possible? Thanks!
Your quite the outdoors cook Dave, that bread looked bloody nice 👌🏻 playing catch-up, looks like YT algorithm has unsubbed me from a few channels, i wondered why I havnt seen you for a while
That big tarp makes all the difference Dave, possibly your best camp setup to date, all in one space and big enough for several visitors, spot on bud 👌🏻 what is the make and model of that pocket folder mate, i like that, it looks like a decent alternative to a larger knife.
I heard a lot of good reports on the Jerven bag, good result there Dave.
Hi Paul, they are a really good bag tough but they are expensive, I got mine a few years a go now and glad I did. 👍
@@davidfriars Yeah they are pricey bits of kit
It’s irony of needing your glasses to find your glasses, been there. I have a spare pair to find the first pair
I am using the cheap glasses at the moment in hope I will find them lol 😂.
I ñiked seeing those setups. I got the same Jerven in mountain camo. I was warm with a Helion Tek Swagman Roll (60gsm primaloft) as a quilt inside the jerven just below freezing. Got a bit too warm. Condensation less of a problem with air volume inside.
Totally agree they are pretty warm and you don’t need a heavy sleeping bag as it would get to warm and the condensation would build up, I am looking forward to testing the setup in the future and see how well It works most probably do a video. Thanks 👍
You sir have talent. I tried something similar a few months ago and it came out looking like Frankenstein's monster.
lol 😂 I don’t know about talent but I do try’s sometimes it work and other times it doesn’t but alway worth having a go. 👍
TJM only seem to make round fire pits currently, quite liked the rectangular shaped ones.
Liked the ground set-up 👌🏼 Great way to use that bag 👏🏼👍🏼
Thanks Dean 👍
I lost my glasses on a long walk through the country side and two different Forrest's, I was lucky I re-traced my steps from the end of my walk and spotted them on a rock about two miles in, a bit scuffed but I got that sorted out.👍🏻
My glasses are the pain of my life lol I keep losing them, every time I go to the woods I am looking for them in hope I will find them one day maybe 🤔 👍
@@davidfriars you need to attack some cord to them mate.😁👍🏻
Looks great Dave 👍
Thanks Lee 👍
I loved hearing the Merlin engine mate.. Nice little set up Sir... I hope to see you in the woods tomorrow mate...
Thanks Eddie 👍
Nice one mate 🕊🕊
Thanks Tim
Day well spent!
Definitely is a great way to spend the day I alway enjoy when I am in the woods 👍
not necessary to store everything in seperate pouches when you ask me!
Interesting bedroll system, I’ve a Thornhill Ultra Heavy sack similar. Not something you would want to carry on a hike/camp.
What size firebowl plate did you use on the Atago that you said fits perfectly. I know you said small but there are now three sizes. Is it the FS38 or FS48? Thanks
Hi the petromax fire bowl is the fs38 👍
@@davidfriars thanks 😊
@@davidfriars this is perfect. I’m not a fan of the hot plate specifically designed for the Atago, and this I’m sure would be more versatile with my Kadai and other fire pits. Thanks for answering me so quickly… I’m off to have a little spend on the Atago and fire bowl 38 now.
Well that's few quid out me pockets
H David. Thanks for great video. Do you have any thoughts on adding a hip belt/waist belt to the Stubben? If so, how would you go about it?
Hi mate, to be honest I don’t think it needs it as the pack is very comfortable with the amount of weight you can carry inside it, plus i think it would be very hard to put one on without taking the pack apart. Thanks David
You forgot the Kitchen Sink!
I think i did have the Sea To Summit Kitchen Sink in the pack well worth having with you.
Great setup! I’m interested on the swag and the sleeping bag. Can you sit inside de swag? Think I’m on ease of wearing. What are your impressions of the sleeping bag? I saw it on Amazon also but I’m not so confident of buying a sleeping bag without touch it before. Thanks
Hi Mate depending on what type of swag you are getting you can sit up inside them most of the outhaus from the 1100 wide one you can, sleeping bags all depend on how you are carrying it, if it is using the car and if you got a swag you would need a car i would go for a fishing sleeping bag plus they are fleece lined 4 to 5 season should work great that’s what i use and it very comfortable also the zip is on both side which helps. Hope this helps David
@@davidfriars thanks for your reply. My plan is to get Palmerston 1500 and keep the sleeping bags inside. Basically use it as the Australians do. 4WD camp, unroll the swag with the bedding already inside. The morning after roll it up with everything inside, load it on the car and keep exploring. So priorities are: High quality and comfort for both, swag & sleeping bag. Thanks mate!
I do own the Palmerston 1500 swag and it is great it like a small tent lol, and yes you be able to keep your sleeping bag inside it all the time. 👍
@@davidfriars thanks!

Happy Easter ,really enjoyed your video and i love the music debs xx
Thanks so much
Nice video Dave 🕊🕊
Thanks 👍
Hi David what do you recommend a sack for the jet boil stash with an extra fuel canister
I use one of David’s roll top bags with buckle closure for my jetboil mate, has room for spare canister plus a few odds and ends, I keep my brew kit in with it as well so it’s all together
Also which work the long large pouch works well and the new 1 ltr water bottle bags can fit a jetboil flash but not canister.
Great video dude 🔥
Appreciate it
Superb stuff, always take away an idea to try myself. Thank you
Thanks if you do get something out of my videos that is great.
