I have a very similar setup, and one of the great things about these is that you can keep a fire going in rain by putting the solid plate up high over your fire. Under it, you can swing in your grill and keep cooking. Can also put coals on top plate and create an oven (i.e heat from below and above), good for pizzas
Hi mate, yes totally agree it work great and i enjoy using it myself and that is a good ideal to keep the rain on of the fire, also the coals on the plate will have to give that ago. Thanks
Thank you, you have reminded me of my adaptive kit I have from TJM already in the grill and mini fire anchor that I'd forgotten. It'll be coming out for a camp.
Plus i imagine that being off the ground a lot of heat will come from the bottom of the pit that would be wasted going into the ground. and no fire scar. this is amazing.
And there was me thinking I had all the fire pits I needed, how silly of me 🙄 good job I’ve got a birthday coming up, another great bit of kit from Trevor, just a thought but would it be worth running the bag handle straps right round the bottom of the bag to take some of the weight off the stitching at the top?
TJM are making the BBQ 35 and 50 Now which is an improvement on this one and the round fire pit was the more popular option I have got video of myself using the versions. Thanks. David
David, it looks like this is no longer made by TJM, no the portable tripod? Being here in the states, it's hard to get updates. Do you know any more? I only see round firepits now, no square ones. Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Cheers, Shannon
@@shannonrinehart4635 Hi Shannon, the new version is the BBQ 50 and the BBQ 35 after which is the updated versions, TJM had to many models and the round version was the more popular ones. To be honest the round version with the attachments does work great. 👍. I will be doing an update video on the round version. Hope this helps.
@@davidfriars Yes Sir, that's a shame, I really like the square version and this whole setup. I don't even see the portable tripod anymore from them. I wanted to use this all with the reflector oven setup from Rough Timba. Do you still make the bags for the oven? Thanks, Shannon
The new setup does work better and he should have the tripod on the shop, if you do need any help just let me know or contact Trevor at TJM, I can make a bag for the reflector oven for you. 👍
Thanks Dave for the vid and I really appreciate all the comments from everyone 😊
Looks like a bomb proof bit of kit, well suited for a cabin or base camp set up to cook for multiple people.
That looks awesome, I own a good selection of TJM products and can see this been added to the collection. Cheers for the video David 👍
Beautiful work. The attention to detail is outstanding. The little stops on the arms are a sweet touch.

I watch how easy it is to push poles into the ground. Where I live is rocks and roots!
OUTSTANDING!!!! What would the whole set cost shipped to USA?
Dave where did you get that large wind shield from as have been looking for one that size for ages?
Yeah that does look like a great addition
I got one from Amazon, there are a few of that size listed but the prices vary quite a bit, think mine was just under £30@@simongeorge3643
