@@gmodesike Yeah, that’s one of the noticeable differences between the two. The material used also looks like lower quality on the clone also.

Did you just use a type c card reader or the devices sd slot? I want to do similar on tablet.

@@Rhoso7 there are a few things that don’t work on the so called clones. The biggest most noticeable difference is the lack of Thememaster. That program is missing in ArkOS on the clone version. Portmaster is a bit glitchy. I was able to install Stardew Valley and Half Life on the clone but while I was installing the Ports, the system would freeze and had to start all over at least once. The regular emulators seem to run fine. N64, Saturn and Dreamcast are glitchy on both the regular and clone systems so no real difference there. The WiFi adapter that I use with my real R36S doesn’t work on the clone but I can connect the clone directly to my router with a USB C to Ethernet adapter and an Ethernet cable to scrape art and get into Portmaster. Those are the differences I can think of right of the top of my head.

@@riyajmondal1387 It’s not a simple task. I wish I had time to do a tutorial video for everyone but I’m just so busy with my full time job. What I can do is share a link to the R36S Reddit group that pretty much tells you what you have to do. The only thing I recommend is to try to flash ArkOS to a different Micro SD card than the one you are using in your clone now. Because it took me a while to find the correct .dtb file. Without that .dtb file the device will not boot and it will give you a black screen. If you use a different Micro SD card and you can’t find the correct .dtb file then all you have to do is pop your regular Micro SD card in the unit so that you can keep playing. And you just keep on looking for the correct .dtb file.

Just read through the whole post and you’ll see a few recommended .dtb files. The one that worked on mine was the one that was recommended by u/MelonGasoil. It was the .dtb file for the R36S Max even though mine is not a Max. It’s just a regular clone.

@@SuperShrooms you can purchase from AliExpress, “Boyhom Store”, “Factory Game Direct Store”, “001 Ali Choice Store” and “Mizar Game Store”. All of those stores sell the legit units within AliExpress.

@Rowlet789 there are key combos that change the boxes. I might have another video where I show how to do that. I’ll try to find it and send you a link or just browse through my TH-cam videos. lol

@@smartfelix007 yes! I already installed it and it runs great. It doesn’t recognize my WiFi dongle but it doesn’t recognize my Ethernet adapter so I was able to update to the latest version of ArkOS. Theme Master is not working but I was able to copy themes from my R36S and they worked. Port Master installed but I haven’t tried running Stardew Valley. I will try today. And the file manager works so I will try to mount a USB drive to the unit for file transferring. I’m so glad they came up with it.

@@MINJITOZAKI Clones would be good enough for that. So, yes! I would recommend them for that. Anything up to PS1 plays perfectly well.

@ omg u response sorry for the late message you back ok so I’m 17 all new to the r36s studied TH-cam videos on it and the sd cards mine didn’t come with Nintendo games for some reason idk I know it’s official it has PlayStation all that other stuff but no Nintendo games so I look at videos on how to put games on it and I see that people are saying not to use a Sam disk I have the Nintendo switch one 256 is that a good one to use? Or no because I really want Nintendo games. Sorry for this being long I’m not really good at words

@ it’s ok. Actually, the best card to use is a Samsung card but you can also use SanDisk, Lenovo or I’m even using the Walmart “Onn” brand card in one of my devices and it works great. I just don’t know if it will last. If your R36S is a legit device, meaning not a clone. You can actually mount a flash drive to the unit so that you can copy games into it. It is a little slow so I only recommend that if you are only copying a few files at a time. If you are copying a lot of games or big games like PS1 or PSP then I recommend you take the card out and place it in your computer.

@ i’m like 85% sure mine‘s an actual legit one it’s a little slow, but would you know why mine didn’t come with Nintendo games? Mine has PlayStation and all that other stuff like Sega.

@Rowlet789 it all has to do with the store you got it from. You can add all the games you like by putting the Micro SD card in your computer.

You gotta flash it on. Just dragging and dropping doesn't work.

The white screen means wrong screen version, try them all. I had to do the same. Mine was version 1.

The device itself isn’t fried it’s the micro SD card since the operating system is stored on there and they sell you really cheap cards it’s recommended to replace the sd and flash ark os to it

Hey thanks. No it was the unit itself that fried. I cloned and replaced the sd immediately with a quality Samsung card. I was playing Tekken and the unit died. Wouldn’t even turn on. No life at all. Copy cat units are bad news. I now have a real genuine R36 and it’s rock solid on ArkOs and a Sandisk Sd. 👍

@ I got mine of eBay and confirmed it was guaranteed confirmed genuine before buying.Seller was retrotechdigital. Have had no issues with the real deal and have been able to upgrade to the current version of ArkOs on it also.
