What type of drum head are you using on that gong drum?

I don't know if you'll see this, but do you need to use a new vinegar solution every day or can you use the same one for the entire process? Also can you put it right back into the vinegar after wiping it down or do you have to wait a little while before putting it back in?

Fun project. I was working years ago for a local drumline (small) with 3 bass drums (as well as 1-2 snares and tenors). The judge make the comment "a legato mallet for the bass drum passages on this song would really make a good impression." So, we did similarly. Dowels, thick masking tape (the one I used would naturally compress), and (wait for it) Shammy material (that we sewed a 'drawstring pouch' around). The judge loved it (same judges in rotation for all competition), and we spent (at the time) a whopping $30 max for 6 mallets. I'm not sure how they held up after the season, though.

My cadences that i have played r 4 opening groove measures 3 measures of groove with a groovy 1 measure ending which repeats back to main groove and then repeat to the beginning Another one i did was 4 measures of groove and then it goes into 1 measure features for each section(director hates cymbals and never adds em) the 4th measure is like that last phrase you meantioned, then there’s another section with 3, 2 bar groove phrases and last 2 measure are closing and then it leads back to start of cadence

I have a BA in Theory/Composition as a guitar major. Currently record music. I've been a fan of EMCProduction that made me take interests in drumline. I agree about the bass drum part since "White Boy Smooth" is the catchy part from his videos. I'm considering about arranging the Secret Levels from Super Mario Sunshine as the drumline cadence but not sure is it going to be energetic or laid-back.

I stopped performing and playing with musicians because so many do it for the wrong reasons. So many big egos. I just did it because it was fun making music with people. Unfortunately music is drowning in not nice people.

I use to book tours which I loved doing it. Overall, and I would not quote me on this but deal making I probably had an 80%+, however issuing contracts...that's when promoters would still want to do the show but started dropping the ball. Always tried to make things fair, where both the artist & promoter would be able to profit...that said while not accounting for alcohol sales. In my mind...you as a venue or promoter still took a risk. Any idea why some of them may have canceled last minute ? curious what you may have to say because talent fees versus venue cap...always under 50% of avail tickets. However, I would also ask for a percentage on top of the guarantee, which I'd always aim for 50% after expense...that way there's still incentive. Talent fees weren't much, the artists were signed with merch in physical store fronts. Extremely different from what you mentioned someone asking to play a show you booked and wanting 2k...without. Part of me has always wondered...were those that canceled...doing so because they went from in their mind fantasy to reality? in turn being overwhelmed? While I'm sure there's things I could've done better...it's just a little odd how they seemed excited, willing but in the end just all talk. I even routed the tours intentionally so the stops were never to far apart so the talent fee without percentage they'd still get there and have a chance to sell merch. That said, when I say 80% that being, if someone got back without outright saying no, usually ended up with a deal being solidified.

Also merchandising is very important too!! Yogurt from Spaceballs was an expert on the subject: Spaceballs the T-shirt, Spaceballs the coloring book, Spaceballs the breakfast cereal, Spaceballs the lunchbox, and I’m sure I don’t need to mention *SPACEBALLS THE FLAMETHROWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* The kids love that one!!!

What would I be looking at if the venue was held once a year, possibly a 3 day show, and multiple acts? 100,000+ attendance. How would anyone go about starting this?

So, as a tip, if you have one of those screws that match the nut you have you can run the nut all the way to the bottom and torque it a bit against the screw head. Then you can hold the threads and spin the nut easily to grind down its diameter. Bonus points if you hold it in such a way that whatever you are using to grind it doesn't try to back the nut off the threads.

What causes the pedal not to swing very much at all?. I have a pearl double bass pedal and I'll bend the pedal back, let it go and both pedal only swing 3 or 4 times before stopping...any ides I can try??

hi sir, what's the harm to the saxophone compared between vinegar and those chemicals? I've heard from a sax Luthier on TH-cam that the chemicals thin and therefore weakens the metal specially in the circles the pads touch (Sorry for the crap description) does this happens also with the vinegar? thanks for the information sir

This was a great video. This sounds like an impossible industry to be in. My dream is to own my own venue and this was enlightening. The biggest question for me is the size of the venue to go with. Something small and more intimate or something like The Fillmore.
