William Hinton also does the WP bottle. Love that bottle so much. My favorite partly because of the heft of it.
That's a good call! Have seen and held the William Hinton bottles many times but somehow never realized it was the WP bottle.
On glass color… I do really like colored bottles, but I think a lot of consumers like clear because you can see exactly what you’re getting
100% - have heard that from many enthusiasts
Good luck
Thanks Leslie!
I’m working on my personal top ten right now and it’s pretty much impossible to figure out how to rank the top five. And this is mostly just rums I own! If I tasted as many as you guys do… I don’t know how I’d manage. The odd thing about 2024 is that for a big chunk of the year it felt like very little new rum was coming out. But there was a real rush in the last four months of extreme quality.
Thank you so much guys for your kind words. For a 3 years old team It's an honor to play a NBA final. Salute!
Keep up the great work, Hugo! Can't wait to see what comes next from Mater!
unironically, john, that jazzy rum carol was incredible, and your voice is amazing. sure to hit the billboard charts soon, no doubt. anyways, despite so many amazing releases this year, i will only be able to taste one before the year’s end: jablesse. i was lucky enough to purchase a bottle before it sold out, and hopefully, it will arrive by new years. i hope it tastes as wonderful as you both describe, as i’m sure it will. cheers, and merry christmas to you both. 🥃🎄
Thanks for listening! Jablesse is awesome - enjoy it!
My IB this year is Down Island, followed by raising glasses.
Mike I just bought that the other day. I was completely blown away! This rum is so freaking good!
I am on my second bottle of the Down Island, Ghana. It's my overall top rum of the year.
A worthy pick for sure!
Alabique Serrano is absolutely fantastic. I'm going to buy that 30 today.
Let us know what you think. It's an amazing pour!
@@therumcast I really enjoyed the sweet and yet almost savory flavor.
@@rough_spirits Glad to hear it! It balances the sweet and savory so well.
If we are including the worthy park overproof in unaged molasses than that's my winner. It's the only one I have tried to be honest.
We need that song on Spotify!!!
Wow tough one. Good work guys.
Casting Call Rum. No matter the eventual name, I’m along for the ride. Can’t wait.
Appreciate the support - more updates to come!
Excellent!! Love how Kyle surprised you guys at the end too! I'll contain my enthusiasm for Madeira rum and send you only (another) 6 pages of notes 🤣
Only 6?? We were expecting 16 pages! Thanks, Richard :)
@@therumcast 🤣
YES! I LOVE this series. Glad to see it back. 👏
Thanks, Jeffrey! More to come
Watched the episode and then happened upon a chance to get any/all three bottles at a local shop while picking up an unrelated order. Fiji and Cambodia were $110 and WP was $90. The Fiji specs and description sounded a lot like the LM&V 5th Anniversary Fiji 2012 that's 65.3% that I have, so I left that one. The WP is similar to a couple of bottlings I have. The Cambodia was completely unique to anything that I have, so I picked up a bottle of that. It's a lot like you said and could easily pass for a cane juice spirit. My first impression was that it smelled and tasted like a rum/agricole blend, like the Down Island Brazil, but with a different flavor profile. Overall, it's unlike anything I've had and a solid purchase i think. Cheers!
I think Colours of Rum is from Poland based on their +48 phone number.
Yep, they are indeed from Poland - thanks for the added detail!
ok ok, i’m Team WILL for a while now, i was splitting the difference for the episode, but my guy went after the HV still artwork? We’re fightin’ now
Maybe the craziest take in Rumcast history 😂
I'm going to be sad when I can't track these down.
Crossing our fingers for you!
Man I'm pumped for these. Really loved the last two and the form factor is 🔥
It's a fun series for sure
Rum & roll! 🤘🏼Thanks guys
Absolutely!
Thanks for the bonus ep! 😘

I don't mind screw caps but I hate the plastic flow restriction on the W&N.I have ended up breaking them and replacing with a cork.
Those are definitely a pain
For what it’s worth, Rumcast Spirits is the only option. Then you have unlimited “episodes”, or even series with episodes in the future. Series is the country of origin, so on and so forth.
#2
The Rumcast never disappoints
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Only in the sense they don’t release episodes daily (I’m greedy). I need more of their content.
@ good point

Had the Garden Fruit in a Golden Gun cocktail yesterday...takes the drink to a whole other level. Got a feeling it will work with any stone fruit liqueur.
Ohhhh that's a good call - wonder how it would do in an Aku Aku
at Rumba in seattle, we like talk about “butter-face” bottles ie: rum fire, panama red, mellow corn, etc …
Whoa whoa whoa, the Rum Fire and Mellow Corn bottles are cult classics! Pointing out this is Will because I don't think John would agree haha

If this isn't named "The Rum Cask" I'll be sad, but it does appear there is a German IB that already has that. Excited for you guys. This sounds fun.
Haha yup, it's in use by a couple others already. We'll just have to find a way to top it!
Huge CONGRATS, fellas. Can’t wait to follow along in this journey!

I think the Myers pops up in cooking recipes. I've certainly seen it mentioned by name several times in that context.
Definitely a popular one for cooking, although with the price increase in some markets I feel like there are probably equally solid options for less now.
A great episode, really exciting what's happening with Alma Mater rum. Looking forward to them getting a UK distributor.
thanks, Mark! Hoping they make it up your way soon. In the meantime, maybe a good excuse to go to Sicily...
I love The Green Zone! I was visiting DC, actually right around the time this episode dropped, and I popped into this bar, not having heard of it or knowing what it was about except I thought the menu looked cool. Seriously, seriously cool place. The drinks, the food, the rum collection. It's weird that I'm only just now checking out this episode, but I'm excited to take a listen!
Green Zone rules!
there was never a doubt Arminder would win. Don't know why you would have him in this contest well knowing that his palate is better than both of you put together. He is in Cali where you can get everything that is available in the U.S. and you guys are in Hickville in southern U.S. and Scott from Different Spirits TH-cam channel would have curb stomped you both also. You can't argue over Don Q and expect to have any shred of dignity left. LOL !!!
The Hampden 8 steal over Rivers! :O
Arminder has to pick last each round next year
In the interest of unbiased fairness, yes.
Love the victory speech and the "requested inscription" - sublime trash talk. I agree with the comment that this is the only Fantasy League worth watching.
It was an excellent choice for the inscription, agreed.
Commenting for the chess + rum fan overlap
You are legion.
This episode was everything I wanted it to be and more. I wasn't expecting things to be so close at the end! No spoilers on who or what won, but the victory speech was fantastic.
Universal approval rating on the victory speech for sure!
My favourite episode of the year, with the amazing addition of Arminder. So fun. I did actually boo my phone at the Hampden 8 Marks shenanigans, though. The voters cannot let this stand!
It was a legal selection, Paul! I did nothing wrong!! But seriously thank you for watching and voting, really appreciate it
Loved this episode and Arminder proves why I've been a fan of his since nearly the beginning. Looking forward to when you post the spreadsheet!
Thank you! Arminder rules, it was great having him on. The winner will be announced soon!
Team Ron Barrilito is a PR rum.
Agreed
This is so much fun to watch- glad to see Arminder in this year's draft.
Thanks, Rob! It was a blast.
Pere Labat 59 would have been in the draft if it would have been available . $40 1 liter bottle
No question
arguing over Don Q is like arguing over McDonald's and Burger King. LOL !!!
This disrespect shall not stand.
