That jig looks great! I've completely struck out White Perch fishing so far this winter! My usual go to spot seems to be completely empty despite being full of bait.

If you enjoy foul hooking or jagging fish, use trebles. If you want genuine hook ups use singles. If you are into catch and release, there is no excuse for using trebles. I use singles and my hook up rate is not negatively impacted, probably the opposite in fact. But my 'harm caused to the fish' rate is much lower than those using trebles.

I remember going to Quincy Massachusetts 35 years ago catching two 2 1/2 pound flouders one right after the other

Only Species I target these days. Yes I don’t bother with other Species of fish. When You’ve been an angler since 4 years old and now you’re in your 40’s and finally decided to be a tog master and only target is tautog because you’ve found the ultimate adversary that excites you and tests you and your patience, along with your senses. I’d deem that a great way to meet your commitment to be an Angler of distinction.

We the fisherman need to call out the lure makers to start putting inlines on all new lures, the time of the treble hook needs to come to an end.

Yep I was reaching for the hook, and the fish flapped, the hook came out, and since the rod was bent, and my hand was in near proximity the kinetic energy sent the hook into the tip of my finger...it did not feel good, thankfully I had crimped the barbs on all my flies and lures. if the coffee or cold water doesn't wake you up...that sure will....lol

I swapped all my lures to single hooks about 40 years ago, the damage to any fish is now very limited and I hardly ever get a hook in myself.

I got a QZ 750 a few months ago and use it primarily for trout. Paired a t with an ultralight Daiwa rod. Very nice combination. Plan on ordering a spare spool soon.
