This was actually scary to snowboard in because it had rained two days before and it was 4 inches of fresh snow on solid ice under it. Regardless it was fun to get a few laps in before I was soaked.

Burton Step On Why Toe Hook Is Wearing Why I believe that you may get Toe Hook Wear on your Burton Step On Bindings is the way you step out of them. This maybe due to past learning of how to step out of snowboard bindings, or it may be due to how a person is on the ski hill and if they lean forward. In this video I show how to properly step out of the Burton Step On and how a person may just au...

Gilson Snowboards 154 Duel vs Arbor Draft Update I switched back to my Arbor Draft to see if I was just rusty at snowboarding or if it was the change with the Burton Step On and Gilson Duel. Gilson Snowboards Duel First riding review. After riding it on the hill I still love the snowboard but I am suffering from the learning curve of the soft edge and 3d base. What is the Best Snowboarding Stance Width and Binding Angles For A Beginner
Let's comment on a 5 year old video. Lol Is the rider aiming to learn to carve? Learn on an industry standard width board and if you have ridiculously large feet consider risers or custom. Factor in binding and boot profile to help decrease drag. Is the rider aiming to carve with higher edge angles, once they can actually carve? Get a full camber board and then take measurements to determine the width that would prevent boot out. By this stage in your progression you should probably be able to determine that for yourself but ask people who make custom boards for guidance. Does industry standard cater to high edge angle carves? No, but most riders don't require it until later in their progression, so I can see why so many boards are average width. Never let any random person tell you what width because they may not understand your experience and riding goals. I'm 5'3" weighing 115 on a 149cm with a 27cm waist. I like it for carving groomers but I also excelled on an industry standard never summer board, with a tiny 23.7cm waist. I carved with boot out. Thought my edges left super wide pencil lines because my toes dragged. My goals changed and I wanted something different in my carving so I went wide with a 2ish cm increase then later 3.7 increase. Well it's perfect but the speed I have, now that my toes are out of the snow, is ridiculous. I was used to carving with drag and ripped. My wide set up is perfect on specific terrain, but factor in crowds and choppy snow on my dream setup and it still presents challenges. The biggest challenge is I take up an unusual amount of space, which makes it hard for other skiiers and riders to anticipate my turns.
Bro can you help me with a really quick question? Please
I guess not.
its 2024 now, can you pronounce gilson yet?
Shock cord down through the gaspedals so they cant fall off. Photons are shite and disintegrate at toe box seams.
Man thx u so much cuz that exactly my problem even they ask me if it was for my son hahahah
I have 2.2 CM boot overhang on the toe and on the heel. Is that too much overhang or just enough to get the right amount of leverage or am I going to boot out?

The video clips were distracting
This vid just saved me a headache at the hill tomorrow lol My regular boots crapped out the other day so I pulled out an old pair from like 10 years ago, only a half size larger but man the footprint is hefty. I was fully prepared to ride and slide with an extra inch of overhang, the demo you did made it click that I could just simply slide my bindings back to at least have balanced overhang
This is SO awesome. Definitely going to follow your lead for my kids so thx for posting. How did the pipes hold up over time? Did they stay pretty sturdy or how quickly did they start to wobble?
In my view, and of everyone I've ever spoken to, the boots should be placed with equal toe and heel overhang. If you are wanting to have more overhang on one side due to booting out then get a wider board - don't take your boots out of the central position.
Lame. You are completely missing the camber press which you will lose at least 15 degrees or even more. On top, you have these impossible bindings to get which looks like they have built in raisers. Good for you but this defeats your argument even more.
Nice video. Hiw did you get the inner horizontal nut out to extract the strap?
My pants just got stuck and i have to cut it off because u cant open it anymore and u also can’t take your boot off. Now i have to figure out how i get the last piece of cloth which still is stuck, out of there so i can get my boot off. All advice is welcome.
I live in north idaho. Powder is the west thing. If we don’t have good powder I stay home.
GLEESON?!?
afton represent
I’ve seen two or three different ways to measure the distance between your bindings. One is from your elbow to a clenched fist. The other one is to measure from the ground to the middle of your knee. What I do is put the bindings on I stand on it the way I usually stand which is for me 19 to 19 1/2, and it feels comfortable as for angles I’ve been riding the same way since I was 14 and I’m 55 now. I’ve been writing the same size board since day one a 159. I’m 5’9” 2023 and weigh about 220. That’s what’s comfortable for me. Have a great day.
Hi! I'm looking for a snowboard to buy and I'm finding very difficult to find more than 26cm waist width, and my boots measure 31cm. Would that be a problem? Thanks.
bought mine before covid. Didn't get to use them until this weekend. I know 3 years no boarding is not good. Quick question, Have you ever heard of people not being able to disengage these bindings? I had a hell of a time a few times. After watching your video, I'm thinking maybe my pants were getting in the way. Size 12 boot, large binding, Ruler boots
i have 10.5 burton boots what should i pick wide or no-wide
Hey man. I’m digging the effort and angle your coming from. I think of you would have summarized what you learned at the end it would be a much better video.
This only works if you ride on flat ground. The angle of the slope is going to change that measurement, even if you're not riding perpendicular to the fall line.
This is the perfect video for what I was looking for thank you! I also go to afton, you hit Minnesota riding on the nose!
Come out to the NW it's been dumping out here! The type if board matters are way more when it comes to powder, not so much with park. Take care. That's awesome you're putting in 2 hrs a day! I'm jealous of that
Big greetings🎊 Could anybody help me🙏🏻 I'm 183cm, 74kg and 43,5 boot size. So I'm thinking between Burton Process 157 and 159, also do I need wide board at all? I'm not crazy about speed honestly, so I'll rather take 157 easy to handle
Do you think that 195 lbs is too much for a 154 yes Greats? ( the upper spec is 200 lbs). Just want it for groomers and learn switch to perfection. I bought it and now i m in doubt if i should get the 156. Merry Christmas !
154?????? I’m 5’11 165lbs and size 12 boots. I ride a 155 wide Rome board 🙃 I don’t feel like it’s too big though
You talk to much
Well that's not very polite 🤔
Man I’m 178cm, will I be good with a 150cm board? Sorry to bother appreciate the help
I just bought a jones mountain twin 165w and have size 12 boot. Waist is 267. My toe bindings overhang is similar to this. Not many helpful videos on this subject out there for us bigger guys. I hope this season will work with mysetup 😅. If not I might get different boot brand with smaller footprint
I got a size 12 boot and a 165w with a 267 waist and still my boots hang! I hope it will be OK this year. Might have to get a smaller size and different brand with smaller footprint
What width would be ideal for a size 14 ??
I am 5ft and 98 pounds female what size should I get ( im really short)
Around a 135 would fit you well.
Hi, I was looking forward to buy a burton cartographer. I am 1,85cm , 76 kg and wear nitro boots (11,5 us-44,5 european).Would you suggest 159 narrow (258mm waist width) or 159 wide (266 waist width)? Keep in mind that this specific normal model is wider than e.g. burton custom or process! Thanks in advance

I think this should be fine. I'm riding 12.5 on Process 159w
Damn, I'm your same height and boot size and I just bought a GNU Beast 161 which now I realise it might be a tad narrow for me. What sucks is that I have to wait two months until it starts snowing to test it haha.... Anyway, thanks for the video!
Going down or up in size should be based off of your effective edge so you can turn the same way on any board.
This dude clearly doesn’t really know much about snowboarding, not the actual terms, definitions, or how to pronounce very well either. If you want to talk shit about boards, you should probably learn how to shred first !
Gilson is garbage and the fact you can't pronounce the name correctly makes you sound ridiculous and no it's a terrible board for a beginner.
Lol... Because snow is hard as that table, and there's no way the board cuts into the snow... It's not like you leave any cuts, groove, tracks, or trenches behind....
Size 11 booter here and new rider. Thinking of going with a 155 regular [250mm] over a 156 wide [260mm]. I just don't see why a beginner would want a wide board. If you move the discs closer or further from your heels, then you can increase or minimize heel drag. In my case moving the discs 1 notch closer to the heel side of the boot would give me the best clearance for toe and heel on my 250mm board.
I went with a 256 mm waist width and I'm a size 11 as well. What were your thoughts on the 155 regular (250mm)?
Great video! I am 5’9 200 lbs and have 11 feet. Looking at a 157 or 157w which have a 250 or 260mm waist width. Which size would be better? Thanks!

Wide. You're big enough to handle it with ease.
154w🧐 that’s a skateboard! Naw jk that is pretty small though! I ride smaller then I should aswell but I’m only 6’0 on a 159w thinking of grabbing a 163-164w.
Huh almost like there’s people isn’t he world that are as big as you..? Pretty normal for a lot of people under 6”
wheres ig...
Very helpful, thank you! Just bought a board that ended up being a different size than posted... my stupid fault. But I wanted a shorter board any way. Got super worried until I found your video. I'm 6'4 195 and everything Saud 160w and up. Hated it, so stiff and not being able to respond when needed. I just bought a 150 (thought it was 155) burton instigator. I was super stressed afterwards, but now I feel more confident and can't wait to get out there in 2 weeks.
As long as the board doesn't have a 2 or 3 flex you should be fine with any board that is shorter especially for jibbing. I ride a 145 -148 for jibbing.
love my Bataleon wallie if you want to butter!
My bataleon fell apart fast bought a smokin and love it sucks they don’t make them anymore so now I gotta get a lib tech or gnu the magna traction is amazing on the ice coast!
