I do remember the Burton step in's from the 90's, and the clamp areas are exactly in the same spot, so I can see how people would say that it is 20 year old technology. I also see that you wear a 13, which is what I wear. Thanks for posting these videos. I am hoping to cop these in the upcoming snow clearance sales in the coming months.
Thought I recognized a Minnesotan accent! (I'm out in New England now but grew up in MN) Can't believe they sold out in less than 16 minutes on the 10/4/18 online presale. Opening mine was like Christmas morning! I was almost scared to tear the paper but said screw it lol. Can't wait to try them out! Boots feel sturdy & well made, 1st ride coming up Saturday hope there's no bad hot spots, clicking or movement.
I bet it's warmer there lol. Most people have commented that no clicking, movement and if you have the hot spot bring a thinner pair of socks. The biggest thing that I have found was getting my pants caught. Try to make sure you can clip it up. The inner liner goes good in the clip, but out needs to stay higher or pulled over the binding back. They're so quick to get in. Let us know how you do!
Yeah we rarely go more than 10 below here unlike MN's -40 days of hell (ie. The movie New in Town's airport scene) Yet we get a ton of great nor'easters out here & have huge mountains to play on. We got passes to Killington this year & were at Okemo last year. The felix boots have pant leg clips to keep em out of the way so I'll let you know how those hold up. Biggest issue so far though is mounting my buildings. They are advertised to fit 3D, 4x4 & the channel but only include disks for 4x4 & the channel. After some investigating it turns out the 3D isn't very common anymore & isn't included on bindings 2015 or newer. So you have to specially request a free 3D pattern disk for it from Burton or a retailer. Would've been nice to know upon ordering because now I'll be slowed down Saturday morning waiting for a board shop to open & pray they have these 3D disks on hand. Burton should ask what board you have upon ordering so they can ensure the correct disk is included.
@@backyardsnowboarder4729 Thank you for the offer, that's very MN nice of you! The board shop by the mountain had them & tried charging me $10. I called burton customer service on the spot who said to fork em over no charge & that the shop shouldn't be charging for a part they get free. Might I add these bindings are LIFE CHANGING! There's definitely a learning curve getting in & out but once you get it down you can unstrap, kick along a flat & restrap once you get a little momentum without stopping to sit. Definitely got some oohs & ahhs from bystanders. I didn't notice any clicking or shifting around in the binding but the 2nd half of the day started to get a hot spot along my pinkie toe of the front foot. I already had pretty thin socks on but can snag some padded mepilex from work to stick inside my boot to solve the issue. Hopefully I'll continue to break in the boots & the hot spot will pack out. Still worth it for these game changing boots/ bindings. Every detail is so well designed down to the loop on the boot for a leash clip & the hook for pant legs. I'm in love!
@@meganm.7320 great to hear you enjoyed them! Mine broke in after a few runs and haven't had any hot spot issues. Now the question is do buy them for the kids so I don't have to wait for them lol
@@backyardsnowboarder4729 Yeah I rented a different type of board than I normally ride last year when I was stuck on the greens with my nephew; the rental had strap boots & bindings and I instantly missed the Step-Ons
Road them all last year no issues. Here's an up-close video of the mechanism working showing the two position ratchet. @ @. Superfast edge to edge. Comfortable, Convenient.
As for riding no. Feels the same. As for getting in and out it is lightning fast. You can lap traditional strap binding people on the runs because of the time it takes them to sit down and strap in.
Very unprofessional video. Lights are too strong, the mic picks every single breath, a lot of wasted time because you have no planned structure for the video

Rode them hard all last winter with no issues. I'll never go back to straps.
