    230 is too high for housing, and the income avetages everywhere is false. Tennessee has industry, real jobs that wages and job demands are in decline due to illegals working for less and production quotas falling way behind. Kentucky does not have industry to support communities. They depend upon like everywhere else migrating income in form of tourism and population trying to escape rising costs. Self sustainable living is desirable for the State.

Thank you.

    This is my opinion about Louisville. I haven't lived there for 10 years, so i may be out of touch. Louisville's crime rate is worse than many cities that have a larger population. I now live in South Florida and crime is terrible here... but not as bad as Louisville! Ask the Eastend about car jacking?The almost never ending protest during the BLM era tarnished Louisville. Louisville is a small time and think small business climate.Btw; Miami Dade has a whole much more restaurants. The problem with miami is the restaurant costs. People are nicer in Louisville. And you don't have an language problem.Sorry if this offends.

    • @Dmd265
      @Dmd265 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No offense. It can be very difficult to communicate when people don’t share a common language. Most of the immigrants here are very nice but it’s a challenge to communicate effectively at times, especially when the two languages don’t translate. For example, some cultures don’t have vocabulary for certain nouns or ideas- “transgender” for instance doesn’t exist in some cultures, therefore there is no translation for the word in their language.)

    It's disheartening to hear where Louisville is today. I grew up there in the 1950s/60s and it's definitely very different now. I left in 1973 but used to go back once a year to visit my aging mother and I did notice real changes over those years. While I cherish some of my memories of Louisville I never wanted to live in the southeast again after I moved out west. My last visit to Louisville was in 2000 when I took my wife with me to make my last visit with my mother. We went on a little tour of Kentucky because she'd never been there. We were both struck by a noticeable difference in what I can only call the 'class' of people and how run-down much of it was (with startling notable exceptions in a few areas where truly wealthy people lived). Basic services were inferior to what one experiences just about anywhere where we live (e.g. people working in stores, restaurants, motels). And it was legal to smoke cigarettes just about anywhere. I still remember going to the grocery for my mother and people were smoking and crushing their cigs on the floor. I wish Louisville the best but from what I've heard and read it's a different place now than the city in which I grew up. Were I young I'd definitely not be looking to move to Louisville.

      @@katieskeen You are most welcome. Sorry my comments aren't very positive but it's just how I feel about the old home town now (and I've got family history there going back to 1885). I'm going to guess that if one has the money and is very careful about where to buy Louisville can still be a good place to live (few places are all bad) but it seems like one has to be especially careful now (geez - St. Matthews is dangerous ?). In Oregon we're now seeing the urban areas decay and Portland - once a really charming place - degrade into almost unlivable in many areas. Louisville looks like it's moving in that direction (but definitely isn't where Portland and many other west-coast cities are; yet). I just felt compelled to express my feelings about the old stomping grounds. I live far away from any major urban area and no longer visit such places (as I once did regularly). Good luck y'all.

    I’ve been here since 2020 and it’s been extremely affordable to live here. I’m in Franklin county and while there isn’t a ton to do here, that is appealing in its own way because it’s quiet and relaxing. There is also zero traffic here. You can rent a nice place for well under $1000. I just got a huge promotion working virtually and that money will go far here. The education system is unfortunate, for sure. I grew up on Long Island so I desperately miss the beach, but Kentucky has its own beauty. Lastly, if you never experienced allergies, you sure will when you move here lol. Enjoyed your video.
