Dune (2021) - Why I love the Litany of Fear Scene
"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

AHS:Coven (2013) Third time was not the charm, but I still love it tho!

Oh boy, I managed to release this video during the witching hour on a Sunday. My bad. I love AHS Coven, but there are some things about the series that make me look at it sideways. After repeated viewings, I was left conflicted with some of the writing decisions made regarding some of the characters and I attempted to address those concerns. I hope you enjoy the video. I had fun creating it. So...

The Mummy is one of my favorite movies along with LOTR. It was a surprise hit and has endured throughout the decades on how to do a movie that is a love letter to old Hollywood. There are problematic aspects of the film but that does not stop me from enjoying the film. Girl Interrupted (1999): Why Brittany Murphy should have won an Academy Award.
มุมมอง 39Kหลายเดือนก่อน
It was tough doing this video. I meant to get it out months ago. I believe that Brittany Murphy was one of the best actors of her generation. She had so much range and depth and often made a film better because she was a part of it. WARNING - This video very briefly discusses suicide and SA through the context of the film. You have been warned. SIDE NOTE - I could only show a partial of this sc...

Alien Romulus: A Late A$$ Review
มุมมอง 642 หลายเดือนก่อน
So after consideration. I moved Alien Romulus from a B to a low A- in terms of stack ranking. I did this for the technical aspects of the film. As a fan of the Aliens franchise, I was a bit disappointed that the film could not push the franchise further in terms of storytelling. I felt the callbacks and choices in special effects hindered it from being truly great or a cult classic. Check out m...

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Review (Spoiler Free-ish)
"Assassin!" is Brodie's last line, shouted from the stair landing and echoed over Sandy's departing figure. Ronald Neame's commentary reveals that the shouted line reading was a source of dispute. Maggie wanted to deliver it quietly and alone -- a despairing moment of recognition. Neame and the producer argued that the talky final scene needed a bigger finish. Maggie gave in, but Neame (forty years later) thought that she was right after all.
Who does the captions on these, they’re always wrong. “The Ego that started this fight will never have a mirror, OR AN AUDIENCE…”. Not ‘A NAUSEA.’
The Kwisatz Hadderach was always intended to be a male, a male capable of surviving the spice agony. This would give the order access to the ancestral memory of the male line as well as the female. What Jessica was ordered to do was give birth to a daughter who would then be married to Feyd and then she would give birth to the Kisatz Hadderach. But Jessica's love for Duke Leto compelled her to give him a male heir, thus bringing about the Kwisatz Hadderach a generation before the Bene Gesserit intended which is what pissed them off about him.
Damn.
Paul isn’t an abomination…idk where you got that. They never use that word for him. It’s only used for Alia for obvious reasons.
I read the novel almost 40 years ago. I have used the mantra many many times in my life. In the military and in many other times. Thank you for highlighting it.
@gilesembleton Thank you very much for your comment. The mantra has a calming effect. I was on reddit and there were some reddit comments that said the Mantra borrows from Zen and Buddhist teachings which makes sense. The power of the words have helped me tremendously. Again thank you sharing and have a great day!

@joesmith, I was not sure if your comment was directed at me or the character in the video. In either case have a great day!
@mikeyoung9810 Thank you for your awesome retort and for being a gentlemen and a scholar. That is what I took from the video and the characters message as well. Have a awesome day!
@ivy9950 I did not want to assume that but thank you very much for your comment. Have a wonderful day!
I love so many things about this movie but it is so dark. esp. Daisy scenes. I love Brittany Murphy and she never got the credit she deserved. One of my favorite Brittany Murphy films of all time is Uptown Girls and it's very real too, but much more uplifting than Girl, Interrupted. It's so good, trust me!
@AngelissimaASMR Thank you for your comment. The entire mood and tone of the movie shift rapidly after this scene. Also thank you for the recommendation regarding Uptown Girls. I will add it to the list. I definitely need to see more uplifting films. Have a great day!
@@yikesreviews You're welcome. Yes uptown girls is still a bit psychological but it's more moving and uplifting than dark and creepy. Hope you enjoy!
Brit’s are proper at acting. No contest. And that’s coming from a 🇨🇦
@SirJaymesDAudelée, noted! Have a good one.
Great analysis and powerful tribute!
@Ray_treks, Thank you very much. The Prime is one of my favorite movies and Dame Maggie Smith is one of my favorite actresses. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Have a wonderful day!
Great video 👍. I love your choices and your reasons. I'd like to present as a possible example Tool's "Prison Sex." I believe all Tool videos from this time were stop motion and a bit on the creepy side, but pair this style with a song about a young victim of sexual abuse becoming the perpetrator, and I'd say it's up there.
@DebrathePaleoista, I want to thank you so much for watching my video and for providing your kind words of encouragement. I just saw the video you mentioned from Tool, and... Jeezus! That video was creepy as hell. I felt uncomfortable during the part the Black Leather started dancing in the darkness. Also, I didn't particularly appreciate how the Black Leather thing was pressing and poking the little bone doll's cracked face hole. Lastly, I can't describe it but I felt really awful when the little bone doll raised its arm at the end and the Black Leather demon held it back down. Tool has always been a band that I loved but feared and revered. They can tell stories through their songs that really go there. I admire bands that don't give a f**k and tell or sing stories that need to be said. Thank you again for sharing this video with me and I hope you have a great day!
Awesome videos keep it up 👍🏻
@sarahvee6665, Thank you very much for your kind words and support. Have a wonderful day!
I resonate with your video. Had the same feelings growing up about these three videos, too. The Jeremy video, in particular, always weirded me out because it reminded me of the Powder trailer. Specifically, when Powder is being hit by lightening in the classroom. I always imagined that it was how Powder actually died and the story given in the film was just a fake story to not scare Powder's classmates. Anyway, great job! :)
@AWarrenJohnson, Before I saw Powder I could not wait to see it and then I remember certain scenes from the film that made me very uncomfortable and I could not explain why and then I heard about the Director of the film being a real life monster. I love Sean Patrick Flannery's performance and the concept of the film but it is a film I never wish to see again. Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day!
My mom have ha bunch of vhs of taped hours of MTV from the 90's and there are so many music videos I saw as a kid that haunted me untill I saw them in HD resolution on youtube xD some that comes to mind is "Faith No More - Epic", "The Prodigy - Breathe" and of course "Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun" tho those aren't super dark in their lyrical sense the visuals freaked me out as a kid Love the video! Music videos are one of my favorite things to hyperfixate on and I love to see people still appreciating them! (a lot of newer bands also putting energy into it helps)
@lostythevoid. Yeah Black Hole Sun is terrifying with all of the warped faces. I also hate/love the Come to Daddy Video by Apex Twin the demonic faces. Thank you very much for your comment and words of encouragement. I hope you have a great day!
Very well said YIKES!👍

@sandrakenney567 It truly was a great scene, in a great movie by two great actresses. Thank you so much for your beautiful comment. Have a lovely day!
Also, funny enough, the only song I ever hear get played these days from Pearl Jam is Evenflow 🤔
@MsLucia4179, Now that you mention it, I think you are right! I don't remember "Jeremy" getting a lot of radio play compared to "Alive", "Evenflow," or "Black." I hazard a guess it's probably due to Jeremy's subject matter, which might have been considered detrimental to ad spots on large chain radio stations. I honestly do not know. Thank you for your incredibly insightful comment, and have a wonderful day!
I've seen videos here on TH-cam where they go into detail about the missing children in the Runaway Train video. It's really sad and heartbreaking.
@MsLucia4179 It is truly sad and this type of stuff happens every single day. The video did a great job in shining a light on the crisis. Thank you so much for your comment and have a wonderful day!
ALL THEEE SHOULD'VE!!!!! EVEN WHOOPIE!
Have you seen Freeway with Kiefer Sutherland and Reese Witherspoon??? Brittany Murphy has a little role in that but it's great. The whole movie is weird but great.
@jennifersparks5939 Oh yeah, she was not in the film for that long I think that may have been her shortest screentime ever but again she was very memorable, adorable and disturbing as Wanda. I wanted to know more about her as a character. She should have been given more screen time. Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day!
The 90s were pretty great with their horror no joke lol. Great job bro!
They were. I miss it to some extent but horror and music were definitely better than what's out today! Thanks for your comment and support sis!
I just found your channel thank you 😊
@rochellesweet4775 Welcome to the channel and thank you for taking the time to watch my stuff and leave a awesome comment. Have a wonderful day!
angelina is not the best actor imo, but she is very beautiful 😊
@tiffanyclark-grove1989 I truly respect your opinion. To me Angelina is a terrific actress a lot better than her father imho she can't help being born beautiful but she is extremely intelligent and a gifted actress and humanitarian. I know she had a lot of issues in her past and I can't speak on that only on her abilities and the roles, projects and humanitarian causes she has chosen to champion. Thank you very much for your comment and have a lovely day!
@@yikesreviews I agree with your points. Angelina isn’t on my “list” of best female actresses but I still enjoy watching her films.
Congratulations!🎉
@Phuong67891 Thank you very much and have a wonderful day!
Don’t overlook her role as “Wanda” in the cult classic Freeway
@jeffreytabler4222, That movie is a twisted take on Red Riding Hood but in a good way. Her character in that movie was a combination of adorable, thirsty and disturbed. I wanted to know more about her like how she got all those scars. I loved her performance as usual. Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day!
Omg you are so right.
That morning after scene is just burned into my mind. It was truly horrific in a gut wrenching sad way. I definitely agree with you.
@Exorcist364xs great name by the way. Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day!

Have fun in Florida
I think Angelina Jolie overplayed, but I guess that's a matter of the directing
You should check her out in The Devils Arithmetic, she was brilliant in that too.
@bubblemum, Thank you very much for the recommendation, I will check it out and add it to the list. Have a wonderful day!
Hmmmmm Angelina deserves that award 🏆
Thank you for providing your perspective. Have a wonderful day!
That scene is my favorite in the entire franchise. Terrific craftsmanship in its setup and execution, as each little vignette leads into the next, a cascade of small moments of inescapable cause and deadly effect. Everything about it felt plausible, and reasonable. Oddly enough, it was never scary to me. Welcome to TH-cam, and good luck!
@RydarkVoyager, Thank you for your comment. I agree with you the set up is done exceptionally well. The scene is not scary but it had a mark on me that I can't shake. Subconsciously my mind always returns to this scene when I'm driving behind or near a trailer or dump truck. Have a wonderful day!
you're right that that scene is uniquely disturbing; for years i couldn't stand that song because it would bring this scene bubbling back to my memory. amazing film and amazing performance!
@BBBatling The entire tone of the film shifts to a more darker tempo from this one scene. whereas before things were a semi-lighter in tone and a playful whimsy in the performances. When this scene drops that's when the masks come off especially with Lisa. and you see Daisy giving her best to maintain her "happy home" and state of being before Lisa rips it out of her. Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day!
great video, love brittany murphy in this movie ❤
@figgythekid122 Thank you very much for your kind words. Have a wonderful day!
I thought Angelina's performance was a bit forced. Brittany's was real and masterful. ps- I don't hate Angelina at all... jut not a fan of this performance
@taraevans1108 Thank you for your honesty. I don't hate Angelina either, and she has done better performances. I liked her performance as Gia Carangi but I can see why she won the award for Lisa. Brittany was in a league of her own and it shows. Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day!
"Final Destination 2"'s opening sequence was jaw dropping, but it wasn't as WTF!? as "Final Destination" was seeing it for the first time. I watched FD on cable without knowing anything about it, but it quickly got my attention! The "Final Destination" franchise is still one of my favourites. The movie that had biggest effect on me due to a scary scene was a movie from the 70s that I saw as a kid, where some arabs were on a roller coaster and a guy with psychic powers caused the cars to tumble off the tracks resulting in the heads of the arabs tumbling off as well. I thought for 40 years that it was "The Fury", but apparently it's a different movie altogether, unless there's an alternate edit that played in Australia? I still fear roller coasters because of that scene. Like the extended version of "First Blood" that noone can find anywhere, but we all know we watched on TV. "Flatliners" is the movie that changed me. I started righting all my wrongs as best I could after watching that movie, just-in-case...
I love the OG Flatliners film, I need to see The Fury though so thank you for the recommendation. Thank you for your comment and have a great day!
OMG! You're so right, Brittany would have made an amazing Harley Quinn! Also, I think Daisy's death is so impactful and feels too real is because this is based on true events.
True!
Fully agree. She was one of the best actresses of her generation.
Angela was so freaky then.
@wandaborowy9400 She was definitely wrestling some fearsome demons as do we all. Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day!
This film had high resonance with me when I "taught" English in a foreign, old world country. Thanks.
Thank you for your comment. Im glad the film resonated with you. Have a great day!
Britney Murphy was an underrated actor or maybe she just didn’t get her chance to explode in the mainstream. 💗💗.
I think it was a combination of both. This maybe my biased opinion, but I feel the competition for actressss is incredibly harder than for male actors. Hollywood loves the IT girl, Women who are unpredictable, uncontrollable, know their worth or of a different hue have a harder time maintaining their spot in Hollywood. I did not know Brittany personally but I can tell she knew her worth even if Hollywood had a hard time acknowledging that. I could be wrong but I dont think I am. Thank you for your awesome comment and have a great day!
My two favorite movies of Maggie Smith are, "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie," and, "Murder by Death". I know so many more characters she played on screen, but these two stick out. She could play such an amazingly thoughtful character in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and then play a character in a comedy such as, "Murder by Death".
I really need to see Murder By Death. That is the second time the film has been recommended. Thank you for you great comment and have a wonderful day!
It's insane that Angelina Jolie won and she didn't. Not that Angelina is bad, but Brittany was a better actress. Her character was traumatized /abused in some way even if just emotionally by isolation or if the sexual abuse hinted at did happen (also had an eating disorder so possibly neurodivergent as well) and obviously bullied by the sociopath played by Angelina. And much like those characters they played, the sociopath is rewarded and the neurodivergent person is bullied to death.
I agree with everything you said. Unfortunately we live in a world that encourages, celebrates and rewards psychopaths and neurodivergents the world is trying to get used to dealing with. Its not fair but Brittany stands out. Daisy stands out not because she lived but because she provided the most impact with the time she was on screen. That is what matters in life. Your impact to the ones who care. Thank you for your wonderful comment and have a great day!
She was fantastic. "Have fun in Florida."
It broke me when she said that! Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day!
This movie was tragic
Some of the best most memorable stories are ones with tragedy. Thank you for your comment and have a beautiful day!
I was 13 years old when this movie was made and just as impressionable as the girls in the movie. I know I would have reacted with as much fervor and loyalty as they did, had I had a teacher like Miss Brody. It's still one of my all time favorite movies, and Maggie Smith will always be a favorite actress. She was unique and a force to be reckoned with, with a raise sharp wit. RIP Miss Brody, Professor McGonagall and dowager Countess Violet Grantham.
I agree with you. There is a big misconception that something like the influence Miss Brodie had on her girls could not happen to boys as well. Mentors no matter the gender can have a extremely positive or negative influence on young impressionable minds. Especially if those mentors were broken people from the onset. Thank you for your wonderful comment and have a lovely day!
I agree with 💯 I rewatched this movie last year after seeing it for the first time when it came out. In my re-watch... I realized Brittany was truly THE force in this movie! The others were great, but Brittany was haunting every time. R.i.P. 🕊
