Withdrawal is real 🙈 we had a meeting this weekend for those with the same van as we have have. It was such a lovely weekend that now I’m looking for other places to go. I have 14 working days on a countdown to the last few days away this weekend but now thinking how will I cope for the next few months 😂 it’s so addictive. Hopefully you will be on the road again soon. It’s so addictive.

We love Camping Car Park also, never been disappointed but there appears a new kid on the block called Airepark Reservation, they seem to use QR codes unlike the CCP swipe card. Got some sites in Brittany we want to visit so we’ll set an account up before we travel, be good to hear peoples experience 👍

Your right the caravan club could do that but they would keep the 10% they over charge for there sites that's why they are closing some of them

Hello Jof my Ducato keeps going in to limp mode been doing it for the last year no one can seem to find the fault as soon as you restart its ok again for a few hundred miles fiat had it in said it wanted a rejen but within 3 miles of leaveing the garage it went back into limp mode the Fault code said low voltage to Turbo so got no Confidence in Fiat we are off to Europe next week for 3 months so going to try a Main agent over there lol

I also have recuring fault which puts the yellow motor control light on, I have not looked up the code number but it shows up as an exhaust sensor fault which inturn shuts of the start/ stop automatic. I went to either my local Fiat dealer or another in Croatia where we spend a lot of our time. They at first changed the exhaust sensor through a recal after this thay have always just red the system and then cleared the fault saying that this can somtimes happen (it happens maybe once a year when it is very warm weather). Of course I must pay circa €60.00 for the pleasure🤑. I now have on my dashboard a KONNWEI OBD Speedometer KW206 which doubles up as a speedo and fault code reader in one and also allows me to clear the code when it appears. The unit cost circa €80 and has already paid for its self. And as a bonus I can see what speed I am doing much better. I find it incredable that a company like Fiat has such a weak system. Sorry this does not help you with your problem but I thought it may be of intrest. Regards Peter.

i got fed up with looking up fault codes so i bought an autel mk808 it tells me exactly wants wrong and it does my cars

We downsized from a 7.4m long Bürstner motorhome to a 6.4m Adria campervan. No regrets whatsoever - the van’s much easier to park, narrower to negotiate restricted lanes and plenty of living space

I don’t think you can better what you have. We had to have two new exhaust sensors and a new set of glow plugs after we had the dreaded light come up on our Fiat Ducati - it was just out of Fiat warranty so we had to pay out and we were told that we’re not driving it regularly enough to kick out anything in the exhaust (I’m no good at mechanical explanations) so now we just make sure we use it throughout the year and hope that it was just a one off. We love our Moho and got it at a great price compared to what we’d pay for a new one nowadays, even if we factor in the repair costs

I’m telling you a van conversion will drive you mad

After having a Crafter and talking with many recovery drivers ( that gives an indication of its reliability) most said ALL have issues 😳. If you search forums those with issues will post for all makes. All makes have many reliable satisfied customers. It's possibly pot luck. Good luck with your quest 👍

Would the air fryer work if the van is in motion and not plugged into the mains? Ie. Can you cook whilst on the move ?

I have aMan TGE180, I would never have another fiat, the Man is one of the best I have ever driven. My advice, get a MAN TGE 180. Can’t go wrong.

Glad to see you feeling more positive. Nothing worse than your pride and joy being out of action. You are right about the noisy side doors though. We have a Ford and every time you open the side door the lights come on too and those lights are bright 😮 think I have found a fix for that bit. The noise of the door is only an issue in quiet times and being self contained then we rarely open / close them at night. Get planning those trips it will make you feel better.

Jof, with the troubles you're having with your M/H I hope you get them sorted soon, as I went down the road of the same Burstner layout but with the Mercedes cab. First 2 years could move for Covid now we are away most weekends and Europe for 3 months last year and this year. Planning some power upgrades to assist our plan for next years travel which I hope we bump into you on the road and have a good chat. Your travels so far have inspired us to travel further as long as we have the correct Breakdown and Health Insurance cover so that we do not have to worry about our travel or getting home. Good luck with the repair as I would not want to pay the costs associated with a panel van unless I built it myself which would reduce your outlay but you still won't get the space that owe have in our Burstner. We have the NB 88EK they are something else we happy with it

Our. Van is a Ford and we have Ford Assist. When you break down you ring ford assist and they take care of everything, by sending a wreaker and taking you to a safe area before assessing the problem and then taking you to the nearest dealer. We have called them several times, even for a blown tyre which ford and the insurance company sorted between them. When we heard your issue we said straight away why didn't he contact fiat when in Italy. And you think you have problems, think of us. We exchanged our van in january and were running it in over jan/feb. We had planned to have summer in the alps. Then in march i was told to stop my medicine for my rheumatoid arthritis because what it was doing to my liver. The results are that everything has seized in my body and the hot summer here in Spain has finished me off. I cannot do steps at this time. So summer in the alps went out the window. I am just hoping things will improve. Take care, you will get over this.

Good to see you being positive again about your Burstner, glad to hear that you’re planning new projects to carry out on it. Keep the faith with Fiat, they can’t be too bad otherwise you wouldn’t see so many Ducato’s on the road and the motorhome manufacturers wouldn’t use them as a platform to build on. I was once told the following: FIAT = Fix IT Again Tomorrow FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily LOTUS = Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious Only Lotus lives up to its name that’s why they don’t build Motorhomes out of them 🤣🤣🤣

Glad your feeling more positive joff, that's a lovely van you've got. I do think you'd miss the extra room you get over a panel van especially the height. Doesn't matter what make cab you've got, unfortunately euro emmision rules have created a lot of these issues with the modern diesel engine, we just have to get on with it and treat it as part of the lifestyle
