Super expensive right
@@domingodvs22 about $2k in parts and services
@motion_mx almost 100k in my country
Ive got an 04 crf 250x, how long did you take to rebuild your engine, im going to tear mine apart and do a full rebuild. Never even been inside an engine before
@@bradleyhanson2654 if you have all the right tools and parts on hand I’d say a full rebuild can take you couple days worth of time. But I generally work on my projects in the evenings and weekends while waiting on parts and the head to be worked on (head service can take around 2 weeks to ship back). So I’d say it can take a month or so
Why didn't you cerakote the rest of the motor?
Nickname: Tin Whoop!
I have a rebuilt engine for sale along with a bunch of New parts if anybody needs stuff
i actually clicked on this video to watch you take the engine out and apart
I just got a Kawasaki kx250 f ...it's locked up need your help bro
What city and state are you located in? I would like to rebuild my 250R as well.
Man I wish I knew you. I have the same bike and sometimes I can get it to start after about 9 kicks sometimes I have to roll start it. I don't want to ruin it. Any advice would be helpful.
@@PatrickSewards check your valve clearance. Those intakes tend to get tight and that’s what usually causes the hard start typically
What did you end up doing with the sleeves being to long in the linkage?
@@RCRMotorSports the length was totally fine. For right up to the bike
How reliable is it
Who can rebuild my bike for I got a top and bottom end kit for it I had crank failure
Near sc
Great video man but why does the bike sound so weird?
I have a question if anyone can help, i really thinking about cerakote full gloss black my bike motor but use purple powder coat on honda logo to make some details, my question is can put in the oven the second time for "baking" the powder coat of couse after all cerakote done, and on the hot areas of the motor the cerakote holds for a long term or i need remake the cerakote?
Great job, like it very much. What is E93 ? Sorry, i didn’t heard about it before 😊
@@rons215mg9 e93 has an octave level of 93. As a bonus this particular e93 that my local shop sells is ethanol free
@@motion_mx thanks 🙏🏻 best regards
Do you think you could soda blast instead of oxide?
How much would a shop charge for a job like this if I can’t do it msyself?
You did great, those rear side covers are in good condition and extremely hard to come by. I have a 1980 XR80 I restored. My bike had aftermarket Maier covers, they are not nice. I sourced an oem one and did some work to reproduce the other. It is on my channel. They are collectable these days. 1980 Was the first year for the 80cc engine. The 75cc finished in 1979.
Is the crown wheel the one attached to the other end of the Bendix? My 2014 300 will engage the gear but won't turn over. New starter and battery too.. so it's the bushings and Bendix. But I'll need the upgraded version
for you, my friend, your video is very nice, I want to ask you, I have a crf 450 r 2008, the manufacturer says to change the piston and springs every 15 hours, I don't use it as a racer, and I've owned it twice and you can see the piston that it never has the thickness on the bottom side is 95.86 what should I do, change it ?
We need more videos
So clean and nice
Link to heat tape plz . The ones I got doesn’t stick at all.
@@rasychea I don’t have a direct link any more but search “50mm x36yd Kapton Polyimide Silicone High heat resistant Tape 2.5mil thick K201” on ebay
Cool man. I’m tearing my 06 apart. Lower end is locked up. Guess I gotta take the whole motor off. Worse Honda I ever owned. Ugh.
Where’d you got that manual telling you clearances and specs?
@@Eli-bx1nf google
Suzuki bro just threw his bike into the tree at 1:57🤣 Nice vid man!
Just made the same mistake of putting the guide in upside down, got the cam in and everything but couldn’t get the valve cover on. Time to tear it back down😭
Dude... same 😭
😂glad I'm not the only one
About todo rebuild my 06 kx250f. Little nervous but ill have good help from a engine builder friend of mine! Nice video man!
Where are you located? I might have to send my bike to you if anything happens to it!
Want to do mine
Do you know where i can get parts for dirt bike in europe?
I don't like plastics...she looked better naked.. I'd junk the clocks and headlights in favour of twin custom lights and minimalist clocks...renthal bars.. Streetfighter..!! Sell everything I'd removed..
My new to me, 09 300 XC W is having starter issues. I have replaced the starter and done everything you have. This is a helpful video and the Bendix and gaskets are next. Was working fine until I found out the hard way how much water I can take my bike into.
do you can work on my engine? i
If I sent u my 2007 motor would u run through it and check it out have a issue with it pouring oil out my breather tube until there is no more oil left in the motor if so how much
got an o6 kx250f from a guy in Va for $800 bucks. Originally wanted a kx250, i'm glad I got the 4 stroke the power band is a lil more forgiving.
Puss
Not sure hitting bearings in when the case isnt on a solid surface is best idea. U prob know better than me but with my luck that case would split.
I need a bigger shop at this point and have a press. But I’ve never cracked a a case in my 14 years of engine builds. I get the cases hot enough to where I don’t have to hit hard anyway.
это так классно😊
Can you list what tools I would need to do this ?
And parts list
Great video mate, great work. Hope you enjoy it
Sick
I do not get the paint job? Looks like a child just started to color things with no reason or pattern? Not my cup of tea at all! Nice work just bad colors for me.
One of my favourite vids much more experienced thanks
Where did you get those spoke covers? Or are they painted
You can buy them in Rocky Mountain
can you tell me where to find those bushings and gasket? cant find them sadly
I bought everything on rocky mountain
Just learned a lot i appreciate that, my 05 crf250x supermoto locked up last spring but last night i got it unlocked tore into it timing was good valves where lil tight though maybe the flywheel or stator was broken an thats why it locked up drained the oil it looked good pulled the oil filter its was loaded with bronze now i know it was crank failure
Thanks! Fortunately this engines are easy to rebuild
man, you know your shit around these bikes! As an experienced mechanic, which motocross bike would you say has lowest running costs and best reliability in long term perspective?
Thanks! I would say the Honda CRF lineup is pretty good. My reason is because they are super easy to work on, there’s an abundance of oem and aftermarket parts and I’d say they’re pretty reliable. I’ve rebuilt a number of these bikes and they can take a beating. I also think they handle very well and feel the lightest. They don’t have the quietest engines but they run really good. I’ve always heard Suzukis having tranny issues and Suzukis are the only bikes. Or without electric start. Yamahas have a great engine too but have an extra valve to worry about…drives the cost up a little more. Kawis are nice bikes too but have a pretty noisy engine in my opinion and oem parts are pretty pricey. I also really love KTM. Very well built and reliable. But they are very expensive and OEM parts are expensive.
Wow! That's some answer :) I am glad you mentioned KTM. They get a demonized for being unreliable by most riders. I ride street bikes for couple years now, and I am considering to give it a shot with an MX bike. I am Hesitant between YZ125 / YZ250F / SX125 / SX-F 250 (I would buy brand new) I like the Yamaha most but I may get a very good deal on new KTM since I work in company that has a partnership with KTM (same goes with parts, I can get them cheaper and I live in Europe so they are easily available). I actually like the SX125 most but I have seen some horror stories online about bike breaking down after literally couple of hours on it. What would be your recommendation mate? @@motion_mx

Using an impact on a tap combined with that noise some would call music. I guess everyone has to start somewhere.
Hey man did you clean the new cylinder jug? Just wondering if you really need to do that. cheers, great video too
They do come pretty clean and yes I did. It’s best to wash in soapy water and then blow out with an air compressor.
