I was upset that they took away that first weekend of Winterfest. There's really no reason why they couldn't have left that on and still been open this weekend! Carowinds is open every weekend between Haunt and Winterfest. I don't know why we can't do that. I'm not a fan of Haunt overall.

You're the reason I bought a lantern at haunt. I didn't want to drop $40 for it until I watched your video.

With ice. I don’t get why they don’t put up ice machines on top of soda machines. But with the free style place in the trains action not being open. The other one I rarely see open is the one between the beast closer to the la Rosa pizza. The ones I suggest to have ice machines is the machines under the effiel tower, festus house, the other drink stations. But also I watched how they add ice at the one under the effiel tower and that looks like a more pain in the butt then anything

The best times at kings island are the Sunday evenings in the fall where the park is open late but there's no obnoxious teenagers because they have to go to school. But it also isn't as good as it was pre pandemic much less pre CF.

I probably wasn't the only one to ever write this to the park. But I remember writing a note to the park suggesting that they change the name from flight deck to the bat in honor of the original ride. I think it was the next year that they changed it. I wonder if that was a common suggestion.

HAUNT was definitely at least a little better this year than it has been. There was more fog, a little less regular lighting, Pumpkin Eater and Hooked were both new to some extent in new areas. The area by Stunt Coaster was different and was basically a scare zone with no name. The lanterns also added something else to do. I still wish they would bring back the spooky music instead of the heavy metal stuff.

I promised our family we’ll go final weekend rain or shine because we will feel lost without weekly coaster rides for the winter months. Already counting down to 2025 opening days!

I remember riding the Beast in the early 80s all the water was present in the beast area, buzz bars, and a large flume ride across from the Beast. use to spend a lot of my day in river town. In many ways the Paramount years, while they were into theming, kind of took a lot away from the original charm of the park. Cedar Fair has shifted focus to retheming their parks, and Six Flags was doing the same before the merger so I believe everyone is on board for this to continue. Themes might change, but I expect their to be more significant overhauls in the future especially with major ride release. Will the vortex plot of land become a new themed area, I can see expanding to stunt coaster. Also they desperately need to get rid of action zone and retheme it into something new.

A winter meetup would he great! We live in Columbus but spend tons of time in Dayton. Don could sign my copy of A Ride Through Time 😊

Haunt is wonderful! However, the fog was very excessive this season.

Per Ryan's recommendation, my daughter and I had tge Witch's Brew cookie yesterday and immediately had to go back to get more! We think the marshmallow in it just brings something extra!

We come from the other corner of Ohio, at least two times for Winterfest. The park is gorgeous, and the shows and activities are great. Ive been saying that i wish the Racer was opened for Winterfest, but the last 3 years it was being worked on. Glad it will finally run. Hope that it runs both sides, even if its only 1 train per side, the Racer should always race.

Coney had some really good picnic ham last year for winterfest. The mac n cheese bar was very disappointing last year. Lets hope they bring back the brewmaster ceese this year, and the brisket. Personally, I like the 5 alarm sauce, but everyone in line last year was bummed when my wife said they didnt have it.

I did the daytime version of maddam fatales yesterday and i loved it!

For us, the rides are very important and the main reason we go. We are trying to watch the shows more.

I think it's underrated due to its location. It's fun and fast but it is over too quick.

Where do you get a sno cone at KI?

Honestly I think the racer would be the easiest of them all to get ready simply because it has 4 trains. You could close down the blue side towards the end of Halloween haunt to prep those trains for winterfest and then in November work on the red trains. Adversely you could prep one side of trains in November and only run one side of the racer during winterfest.

Welcome to R4 status at the park Don! I have always wanted and tried to dispute what I was accused of to no avail. I still want to challenge it and defend my reputation.

All CF parks are like that when it comes to info leaks, which I don't understand. When enthusiast leak info it basically only plays to the enthusiast community, which is very small. It's news to the GP on announcement day when the media covers it. Leaks and chatter is a very positive thing for the park because it builds interest in the park, and lastly enthusiast are going to show up at the announcement regardless, -especially if they feed us.

If you didn't sign an NDA when your time with the company ended, you don't owe anyone an explanation as to what you're doing now with your free time. I love Kings Island, but their lack of transparency gets to me.

I always feel you all hype up Kings Island. I have personally tried or looked for things you recommend that I might look over otherwise.

Maybe they need to get away from TikTok and stick to stuff that works. Seems like someone just wants to be a TikTok Star.

The info you shared caused excitement among my friends and family. I was telling everyone that goes to KI, and we were getting pumped for Winterfest. While I can understand their perspective if it was someone recklessly sharing false, unvetted information as fact, that is not what happened here. What happened was KI got free positive publicity and they should count it as a win.

They don't like you because they can't control you. Corporations are all about control...their image, PR, money, etc..

If racer can open for winter fest then why not adventure express? Shove some Christmas hats on the monkeys put some Christmas trees in the station. There you go the Christmas express.

I have to say, this is why I have a lot of respect for amusement insider. He works WITH the park and doesn’t put Information out before it’s time. I have to say, I think you guys are being terrible people releasing information before the part can just because it’s leaked to you. And ultimately, if they find out who did it, there could be people who lose their jobs, etc., which is their fault for repeating information that they should not have but,I’ve lost respect for you guys leaking that information

I believe KI needs to take a page from CP on how to keep things a secret. No one predicted or knew or posted about Sirens Curse coming out next year. That was a huge announcement and how they kept it under wraps is just amazing. Hopefully with the new merger and possible districting of parks that announcements will be made more of a surprise than a X/ FB/IG/SnapChat/TikTok announcement by a coaster group or podcast which ruins it for the rest of us.

Kings Island is going to start banning people from wearing TT shirts and sweaters from coming in🤣

I, for one, appreciate the heads up. My wife and I were on the fence about Winterfest this year depending on how things are going. We just had a baby, so being able to plan ahead is crucial. But with the Racer being open, I for sure will want to make at least one visit! Appreciate what you guys do!

Tumble Bug would easily fit where the KillMart building is. Its such an eye sore during the regular season ever since they removed the old arcade in that building. They only use the building for Haunt. Put Tunble Bug there and it would look great next to Zephyr

If I was KI, someone from the park would be available on the show once a month just to give news updates, and/or to discuss issues. But lets be honest, if I was incharge of KI, Don would NOT have been let go.

KI secrets will always get out and have been getting out for a long time. When I worked there, I knew the name of Diamondback and had seen the blue prints of the ride way before any announcement because they just leave things laying out and about in easily accessed areas and let's just admit it, people like to talk especially when they know a secret. Giving you guys a hard time is ridiculous and if they want to blame anyone they should just look themselves in the mirror.

The park should be asking themselves how can we capitalize on the excitement tower topics generates for us (for free). It's a real shame, and whoever is in charge of messaging at KI is really screwing it up. You want to sell more gold passes, well maybe outreach to the place that's for kings island fans, by kings island fans. This disconnect is only goin to get wider with the changes six flags is making pulling that department from the park.
