I agree that 30.2 has a lot of promise. I am currently testing fresh installs, portable mode, etc. to se if there is a way to run it without the same issues as an update. Hopefully something works!

A throw-away comment form a throw-away account, nice. But I will address it for those that come along in the future. First, let me say that I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the video. There are others channels out there that don't explain anything and just hand you an answer. If that is what you are after, then my videos are not for you. I do not like to pretend, or assume anyone's level of knowledge on any topic, especially what you called "basic terms." There are a lot of people that do not understand those "basic terms" and there are those that like to understand the how, what and why. This way, when a problem happens in the future they can solve it themselves without having to run to a quick "give me the answer only" video, again and again. Besides, if I didn't do a thorough explanation for those that need or want it, where else would you get to use the term "mansplaining" so incorrectly and so frequently in such few sentences? I am only blaming OBS as far as pushing the update out so soon. I fear (and am not 100% certain) that the new "donation level" from Twitch to OBS and the inclusion of their Enhanced Broadcasting feature forced the devs to push out a release that wasn't completely fully tested. With the eye on AV1 and 4k streaming, I think they forgot where they currently are to see where they want to be.

If it helps, if it is a patch (so like 30.2.1) I will almost always do them as soon as I can. the minor version (30.2, 30.3, etc) I will wait a bit and test it out before using it on my "going live" install. So when 30.3 comes out I will wait at least a week or two. When 31.0.0 comes out I will wait about a month or so.

I do have an NVIDA GeForce RTX 3060.

Yeah, there are more bugs than OBS devs know. I think (though this is just my opinion) Twitch pushed them a little hard to release the EB portion and we are dealing with the result. I am hopeful 30.3 will fix a lot of these issues, but expect to see 30.2.1 and 30.2.2 real soon I am happy to hear that the downgrade helped solve your issues! Well done

@@GregMurrayEnt1 Aye, the 3060 and newer *should* have no issues (on paper) with this update, but they really are. even 4090s are struggling for some people, and others with a 1060TI have no problems at all. It is weird.

Yup, you have to reenable websockets and either change your WS password in Sammi to the new one OR make a new password in OBS websockets that is the same as your old one currently used by Sammi

Great question. I had to go double check (I forgot OBS was on Steam!) but as of the latest patch notes that I could find OBS on Steam still does not include cloud saves. While this mostly refers to recordings and the OBS files themselves, it will also include the config files. If you need a back up, click on the cog wheel for the OBS Steam install Choose "Manage" and then "Browse Local Files" you should be taken into the obs-studio directory. If you back out one level, you can copy the entire directory and paste it somewhere safe, essentially making a back up. (backups and saves is still on my to-do tutorials list but I will move it up in priority as well) Thanks for the question!

@@L1fe_quotes at some point the goals of both Twitch and OBS will align how they see it. Until that happens, though, I fear this update isn't right for everyone, myself included.

I had to revert back to OBS Studio 30.1.2 because my MKV recording format and a few other Formats were not working too.

​@@beardedink Maybe so, but the people at OBS in the Discord said that I was the only one with the Issue I am mentioning, but why it fixes itself when I reverted back to 30.1.2 can't be me alone surely. Nonetheless, everything is back to normal on my end with the mentioned version, so I think I find it best to not upgrade as much as they claim it to be ready with only the Hybrid MP4 Format working in the Standard settings it sure isn't.

I agree. AI voices can do a lot and are rather impressive in many regards, but they still have a long way to go, especially with the English language. Sentence context is way off in many aspects.

Thank you for your well thought out and elaborate response. myself and my viewers appreciate it. I will note that what you do say is mostly correct and I am not arguing any of it. However, my tutorials do cater to the less-informed and non-tech savvy folks, which is why my wording and explanations in this particular tutorial are simplified so that they get the basic idea without a long lecture LOL. I do go into more lengthy and "accurate" details in my singularly specific tuts, though. What you say about the 4k streaming etc is very very true, however EB is not for YT and is solely for Twitch, and does limit the transcoding to 3 resolutions (at least for this first release section), none of which at this point are 4k. The "rumor" through the Twitch side is AV1 should be ready for testing in 30.3, so we will see. And I will point out that in my set up tutorials where I do cover the simple vs advanced settings and the bitrate limits, I do explain that these limits are not mentioned anywhere in writing by Twitch. But studying and interviewing over 3000 streamers of all status as well as exploring the server API, it is easily seen. Also, thank you for the benefits breakdown. And you are correct, everyone is different. I can see a value in EB to a certain degree, but I still don't agree it is a good thing overall (YET). I think it can be great, if it is done correctly. With Twitch's history in this sort of change, though, I'm not holding my breath!

@BadMann3rs off the top of my head there are a few things to check. I would go in this order: in speaker bot, settings - general and check the bot is enabled on the check box. You may have clicked silence button on accident. Check all the accounts, specifically twitch and streamer bot and ensure they're fully connected. Finally, check the web socket server tab and ensure speaker bot is connected to obs. Next, click the save button, close the bot, reopen and try again. Still not working? Look at your output sound settings in windows. Ensure that your microphone is enabled and set as the default option (even temporarily) and check again. If none of this works, come back and let me know and I'll have more for you.

It really is so handy! I use it on my tablet because I can't afford a real stream deck. Plus I find this easier to configure and code than the physical ones I have messed with in the past!

@beardedink but one Qestion Uberduck voices are recognised, but no Matter its always got an Error in the Speaker Bots Events list my Guess it's something from uberduck that's failing any guess waht it could be

Off the top of my head, it is probably an api issue on uberducks side. You can make a new api key and try that, reconnect (log out, back in, reauthorize, etc.). I also know that speaker bot is getting an update, we're testing the beta now. This update doesnt specifically address api issues, but small tweaks were made. If the reset doesnt work, look for the official release (coming soon) and see if that helps.

I am assuming you want their names to appear and stay throughout the stream and not just have one name overwritten if you get a 2nd sub. In this case there are several ways to do it, the cleanest method being to use C# to cycle through an array. However, just using actions and sub actions you can create your 1st action that uses a "set global variable" sub action to increment a counter. Also a sub action that will populate the text source in OBS with the name of your 1st sub. Then, you just duplicate everything for as many sub names as you want to appear. Create a new text source in OBS for each one. Then in SB you want to create a singe action that checks the variable and writes to the correct text source after running through a lot of if/else statements.

If it is needed, there are 2 ways. Manually you can click on the "Variables" button at the top of the bot (near the Chat button), find your variable on the list and change the value to 0. Automatically you can create an action that uses the Set Global sub action and set the variable to 0 and then add a trigger (such as a chat command) and run that in chat when you want to reset.

There could be a few reasons for this. It will depend on your settings and a few other factors. On the deck edit page look at the top right corner. Make sure it says "Connected" with a green wifi symbol. Also, make sure you are using the link to the URL from the "Launch Deck" tab and not the Edit Deck tab. Finally, if all of that is correct, click the little monitor icon (to the right of the WiFi symbol) to turn on remote connection and try it that way. Many tablets, phones and laptops won't push through your local connection and need the remote instance instead.

Go to the Commands tab and find your command for the lurk action. Double click the command to open the edit window and look on the left side under "Options" for the Sources check boxes. Make sure "TH-cam Message" is checked. This will alert the bot to check YT messages for the command also. Also, make sure you have a "Send Message to Channel" sub action for TH-cam, or else there will be no lurk message sent to the YT side. (right click in sub actions panel>>TH-cam>>Send Message to Channel)

Do I have to be streaming for the commands to activate? I have it all set up for both Twitch and TH-cam, but TH-cam refuses to display it. I even setup to send a simple message to TH-cam and still it refused to display. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

@@StompGojiStomp Have you been live on TH-cam since connecting SB to the YT account? If you have not, this will most likely be why, as there is no user data to pull information from and the subaction will just fail. For non-user info stufff (alerts, send message, etc) you have to be live on YT for them to appear. YT API doesn't have an "always on" chat like Twitch does

That is what the "Default Voice Alias" selection box on the Settings>>General tab is for. I apologize for glancing over this part and not going into more detail. Simply set up a voice alias (I named mine "Default Voice") and add everything just like you do for a named voice. Then on the General tab select that voice from the drop down (bottom left corner). Now when someone who has voice permissions uses the TTS command, it will default to this voice alias if they do not have a specific one assigned.

This will depend on several factors, such as how you are pulling in the song information, what song service you are using (I assume Spotify) and how your actions and sub actions are set up. Somewhere you will have a send message to chat sub action that pulls the song info and triggers this message sub action. You can disable this send to chat section and create a sub action that does only this feature with a command trigger.

In the meantime, don't forget that you can always go to the "Action Queues" tab then the "Action History" tab and find the command you just ran/tested/ Right click on it and choose "Inspect Variables After Run" This will show you the entire list of the variables (on the left) and what they were populated with (right). From here you can tell if you are using the right variables to get the information you need.

@@banditscorner9164 Yeah, it can be tricky at first. But basically the action history list tells you what is being called (variables) and what is being populated in those variables. For example the user name may use the variable %targetUser% and when you look at the action history log, you will look for "targetUser" on the left hand side. If it is there and the right hand side is blank, that means there is an issue populating that variable. If "targetUser" is not there, it usually means you are calling for the wrong variables (using "from user" instead of "from input" in your send to message sub action. Etc. But, it is a place to start. PS bits use %bits% for the number of bits received. Populated by the "get target info from who redeemed" sub action ;)
