good video ,u have explained well
Glad it was helpful!
I know the metro pretty well after 4 trips but always some good tips in there. Earlier this year I did get the RER a few stops going from the near the Petit Palais back to Saint Michel, I see what you mean!! But it did the job. I've been using the Navigo Decouverte card .
Awesome !! Never been to Paris and ain’t speaks the language so I’m a little nervous
Totally normal! It'll be great, you'll love it :D
Thanks a lot man , I have a 10 hr layover on November 4th and can’t wait . I was a little timid about this but feel more comfortable with your explanation and video
Wow 10 hours! You should definitely be able to do some of this in that timeframe. CDG is comfortable... but not 10 hour comfortable!
Entire layover is 6 hours coming in from Morocco, headed to ATL. Is Easy or Moderate mode possible with the time it takes with security?
Probably the easy mode, perhaps into medium depending on how the first part goes. Definitely be sure to check out the pdf with all the details, and check city mapper to day of to be sure there's no road work or delays!
Will navigo easy cover all zones?
Navigo easy is basically just a vessel for individual tickets, and an individual metro ticket, whether paper or in Nagivo Easy, will cover *any* metro stop (excluding the final stop of line 14 at Orly airport), most of which are in zones 1-2, with some outliers in zone 3. It will also cover RER in zone 1 only. So the short answer is no, but you might not need it to.
Sacre cour is an abomination, architecturaly, artistically, culturally, and politically
If we want to use the metro for 5 days how much money we have to put in the metro card that you showed us ? You are very helpful for amateurs 😅
I mean the navigo pass
Oh that really depends on how many trips you expect to make! If you plan on mostly walking, Navigo Easy is good for the occasional ticket. Otherwise you can get a weekly unlimite pass and load it onto the nagivo decouverte (which should be about 30 euros). You can find more details (in english!) on the idf mobilites website :)
Where’s the pickpocket video in your playlist? To avoid them? I went to your channel n did not find it
Hey! The information on pickpockets is in our guide at parisinmypocket.com but @LesFrenchiesTravel have a lot about pickpockets on their channel if you're looking for videos
3:23:10 peru mentioned
great video, I like this style
Thank you!
Beware ! The eurostar's manager told me I could buy a ticket for the metro in the 'bar' but at montparnasse ticket checkers made me pay 50 euros for having an invalid ticket !!! Then they make complaint difficult. 😡
Oh wow! You should definitely report that to Eurostar!
That was great thankyou. 🙏 I have a sagestion . A tour of the paris churhes , la madeline is my favourite and rich in history. I would visit 2 to 3 churches a day whilst strolling through paris. Also indian town , its so authentic and some of the best indian food I ever eaten. I have been following you for years and you show paris soo well. Your onto something with you creating itinerys its going to boom . You have the right personality for it. Good luck. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! Stay tuned - while it's not a church one (yet!) there are some itineraries that might be dropping soon....
video was extremely informative and super easy to navigate , please clear whether navigo pass is valid for all the zones or not
You can buy for any zones, but we recommend all 5, it's just easiest
Excellent video! You said the monthly pass is "really only available to locals". So, can a non-local visitor get one? Thanks!
Could be a bit difficult to get and not super useful depending on your situation. You need to provide proof of identity and proof of address as well as a passport photo (the French dimensions.) Also, you can buy the Navigo from the 20th of the month before its validity period and until the 19th of the month it's valid for. For example, if you want a pass for June, you can buy it from May 20th to June 19th. It's not a "buy and then get 30 days" situation. Navigo easy & decouverte are definitely better options and designed for visitors/people that don't use the metro frequently!
Is Chinatown not worth mentioning! For the 13th?
There are lots of areas of town worth mentioning in Paris, including Chinatown, of course. They can't all go into one video, though!
Headed to Paris soon…
I love the help desks they saved me more than once🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂
No gap😂😂😂😂😂😂
Very informative and high quality video. Great work.
Glad you liked it!
One fun fact is that when you see the sign with both termini like at 12:31, the top one is generally towards the north or west and the bottom is towards the south or east. So if you know what cardinal direction you're going but not the terminus station, you can usually just look at the position of the terminus in the sign.
That's such a great tip!
there is a blonde and some guy in a blue shirt following Jay everywhere
That's the team haha!
Can I use my iPhone to pay for the ride on a metro
You can download the idf mobilités app and purchase your ticket through that, then scan it on your phone, but you can't just scan your card yet.
Thank you for the in depth video and info on Paris!!
Glad it was helpful!
I used the new IDF app. Not super intuitive to set up but you can buy all of these passes using a CC and use the app to touch to pay. It's not super clear what you show the fare police but otherwise easy to use. The IDF mobilities app makes this all even easier. Download before getting to Paris (two apps are required for some reason). Buy your RER airport ticket, get to your destination, buy a 10 pack of tickets and you're set.
My wife and I are in Paris right now. Lots of fencing blocking off areas that are normally open to people. A lot of the grandstands are still in place too, but they are working on it. Hasn't detracted too much from our visit. Paris is a beautiful city! Easy enough to get around, clean and everyone has been very friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to use public transportation... We've used the Metro, RER and TGV while here and all were very easy to use.
Thanks for sharing! So glad you're loving it, despite the lingering construction
@@paris.in.my.pocket It's been fantastic so far... Your video on using the Metro was a great help. I encourage anyone going to Paris to use it.
i plan to work in la defense pls advise which area to live is good can i go by bicycle from apartment to la defense im first time
if you want to be in Paris proper, then your best bet is the 16th or 17th arrondissements, or Neuilly-sur-Seine which has some peaceful places. Unfortunately we aren't very familiar with the La Defense area!
@@paris.in.my.pocket any videos for some asian shop in paris thank u sir
That's quite a broad question, but we encourage you to check out our instagram and guide for more recommendations!
@@paris.in.my.pocket ok i will also do u know if any asian market thank u
Super intéressant ! Cheers 🥂 &☮0ut, jb
Paris really need to install contactless payments on their public transport network, it would make life so much easier.
You will get robbed on the metro. Be vigilant
Absolutely, it's important to stay aware, keep valuables in pockets and hands in pockets, etc, but we also don't want to fear monger. We know people who have taken the metro for decades and never been robbed.
This seems confusing; I just came from London and rode the tubes 60% of the time!
No need to take a metro too much in Paris!
Ligne 9 represent!
As a fan of the Paris metro, one thing that sets the London tube apart is accessibility. In general the UK is miles ahead when it comes to disabled access etc. and the tube is no exception. It may be very hard to adapt some of the smaller, older metro stations (I'm no civil engineer) but the RATP needs to pull its finger out and get on with it.
Yeah Paris is so behind. It's really disappointing they didn't use the Olympics/Paralympic games as an opportunity to rework some infrastructure.
Tip more than 2 euros, thanks - your sommelier 😂
Would love to know what your experience is with French locals tipping (not tourists) have you found they often tip much more than we've suggested?
Natural is to wine as IPA is to beer. Too trendy. Sometimes amazing. Often too much.
We love natural wine! There are so many options and we're rarely disappointed, but it's still a really wide and varied designation, a certain flavor/taste is never guaranteed.
Are the church services in English?
Sure some do. We don't know much about it, but perhaps this article will help? htcml.com/english-speaking-churches-in-paris/
Nice explanation and easy to understand 👏👍
Glad you found it helpful!
Very helpful! Will definitely use your advice come June 2025😉.
Glad it was helpful!
Extra tip : Arc de Triomphe is free for European citizens 25 and under !
Yess!
Awesome video. I always watch your videos when long for Paris and have Fernweh. Wish I could be there. Hope you have a wonderful day. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you!
Please try the French bastard !!!
Thanks for the heads-up about the vegan donuts, will definitely be adding that place to the list on the next trip!
They're amazing
Have the traditional cafés in Paris been disappearing? Great video but I didn’t see any sidewalk cafés and the idea of going to a chain coffee shop - like noir - in France is kind of depressing. I’m sure however that the coffee and pastries are good.
Noir is one of many specialty coffee shops popping up. Paris has been a black hole for coffee for a long time, and it's great to be able to get a quality one now. Don't worry - there are still tons of classic beautiful cafés and terraces to sit at and watch the world go by. It's a deep part of the culture here. :) We just won't be recommending them for coffee. But perhaps for a lemonade or a hot chocolate; it's still a quintessential French experience.
@@paris.in.my.pocket that’s really interesting! The cafe coffee used to be unmatched. Good to know they’re still thriving though.
Jay awesome video as always. Until the arc of triumph scene, I was like “watch out Jay you’re being followed 😮”.
I love you. Ending up at donuts. Perfect.
one american dumb video why not 1 hour in paris with no money . and this guy pretend and assume thats possible one more scam youtuber
for a minute, i thought you had a stalker !! 🤣😂 By the way, incredible video !
Such a fun video. Loving the adventure mode! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, even though the idea of only having 6 hours in Paris is tragic! 😃
Definitely recommend more!
