mario party ds is still my fav so far. it plays like these characters are in our actual world and partying. the boss fights for me was the most memorable part.

All of the Mario Mini games are from older Mario Party games lol But every single character you can unlock as an ally has mini games that are references to other Mario games and media!

Fact: The way the Donut party of Peach's mini-game works play similarly to King Bom-Omb Boss minigame in Mario Party 9, where if 2 (or more) players proceed to press the same button, their character will bump into one another, costing them the ability to deal damage to King Bom-Omb and earn points. After the half-way point, if the same were to happen again, they'll be blown up by a bomb (Thrown by King Bom-Omb) if they proceed to press the same button on their controller.

I believe the cookie section of Peach's Day Off is actually inspired by Bombard King Bob-omb from Mario Party 9, which by the way came before Star Rush

Aside from the fact that the new chain chomp appears to actually be based on a 1v3 from Super, several other enemy patterns are also copied from past minigames such as Gridiron Gauntlet from Super for Chargin' Chuck and Billistics from 9 for Bullet Bill. The first round of Peach and Daisy's minigames also appear to based on Acornucopia from Star Rush and Fruit Scoot Scurry from 10 respectively.

Actually no Island Tour doesnt have bosses in the normal board gameplay, you only play the bosses in Bowsers Tower.

Since I have seen a few correction comments- you still have to pay to start the Hootenanny in Western Land. You just have to land on one of the Happening Spaces. But a bigger change is the fact you can pay 10 coins to bring over one random player or 20 for the classic Hootenanny with everyone involved. And you are put on the second Happening Space after to prevent repeated uses of the Hootenanny back to back. Also, the ticket stand’s prices change depending on how many people have bought. They start at 5 and increase to (I believe) 20 coins per. Solid video overall, though. Even if I don’t think all of this was intentional references (they could be, but some is likely coincidence), it’s neat to see and think about references to past games.

Why is jamboree so good, because it gathered everything from the rest of the games (ALL of them), and put em in a blender. Out came Jamboree. Now all it needs to DLC!

There are a few things that you missed. One thing I noticed was how on Rainbow Gallery and the new Bowser stage, there is an event that is predictable and changes the whole dynamic of the board after 5 turns, similar to Mario Party 7’s Bowser Time or even the Day/Night mechanic from 6.

Bowser takes 40 coins in MP1, not all of them. Though you can say it's all of them cause the game was stingy with coins anyway lol. Also the Bowser Phone in Jamboree is now a random player instead of you choosing it, and lucky spaces first appeared in MP8 even if it worked differently. Lastly Jamboree also has the stickers from Superstars, now called reactions

In jamboree you can play the boss mini games in party mode but you had to land on vs space.
