Like the comparison vids, interesting to see how the same trail changes so much after some rain. MV? Why do they drop their bikes in the middle of the trail, albeit the exit, instead of placing them down to the side. That is poor, very poor. No issues like that at BPW today, just a bit icy in parts but mostly gone. Car park was rammed though.

Are there dedicated trails up there? Or are there trails that have evolved but aren’t official trails as such?

Glad you're ok with the tyre, a blow out can turn into a very nasty situation. The extension is always a great addition to Twrch even when icy.

Cathays Terrace brings back memories as I used to have a house on there, but it didn't have cycle lanes in the early 90s that's for sure. I'd have to recommend an e-commuter you know N+1 and all that 😂

Found your treetops the other day but a load of trees have fallen and ruined the track Gutted about your bike mate

That's very depressing. Was thinking about going there in spring. Guess if it's not bringing in enough money it's not worth their while to clear the trees. I noticed it was the same at BPW but it was cleared up in days.

I must have followed your tyre marks on some at least one of those Fforest Fawr trails. It was bordering on the ridiculous all that slippy mud and the leaves caused my chain to come off on Sidewinder. all the fun of the fair though

Great ride and wow the colours are amazing. Sketchy with hidden roots. Sidewinder goes right at 15:40 you’ll see in your vid logs on the ground. It goes down and bears left on to the taff trail, exiting opposite the new steep trail that ends up on the lower road.

Good effort man! Masts is such a great place to ride but things can go south very quick. Clearly out of your comfort zone but at least you had a crack. I remember what that was like for me. Well done! 🤘🏼

Taken out by roots AND stuff! A killer combo. I'm going to write and complain to the Senedd about my HUGE sports root trauma event, I think you should too. A law needs to be passed to ban them or at least clear signage for us old'uns! 😂 Hope the body damage aint too bad 💪

It's a nightmare riding at this time of year, the leaves hide everything. I hit a root like you did many years ago, except I was on an enduro bike going 40mph, I broke 3 ribs and my right wrist. F***ing roots 😂. Get well soon 👍

Mate thats a really good video, you can see you and the lad in front are way out of your comfort zones but still ride and enjoy those trails safely. I've ridden the masts many a time and its humbled many a rider

3:48 I actually fell off my bike here. Cycled round the bus stop and there's a small ridge that separates the footpath and the cycle path. You have to cross it and I stacked it. th-cam.com/video/zUYTPdeCtnA/w-d-xo.html

Enjoyed this video very much, used to do much the same right up to my mid 50's. Nowadays I stick to gravel and paved rides on my electric bike, but at 75 I can still do the miles but just a different way!

Filtering is indeed legal for both bicycles and motorcycles. Indeed for motorcycles it's a recommended practice and you can fail your test if you DON'T do it. I believe that all Car drivers who are physically able should also do the motorcycle Compulsory Basic Training [CBT].
